Vei'Ran huddled at the edges of the meadow, trying to figure out how, in such a large group, she had managed to be largely ignored. To be fair, it wasn't really that she was being ignored: She couldn't find any stallions that didn't mind going off alone with a mare of questionable intent. The reunion party for the migrators she had come with was not quite going as she'd hoped, so she skulked away from the party, a bit, ignoring the even the Kalonas and those human beasts weaving among the pack. She still hunted for someone to part from the herd, but she decided she'd do it from the edges of the party, where they were more likely to travel alone. She heard a familiar squawking laughter deeper in the rabble of the party and lowered her head in it's directions, ears flattened. Even her own familiar; the avian curse, had abandoned her, here.

It was one of those brighter days when Kore's Mistress hadn't stuck her nose in places it didn't belong up all morning. Those were usually foreshadowing of a good day. It had been so terribly long since he spoke to anybody. Well, at least anybody that mattered. In this colossal urge to find somebody to speak with other than his alter ego he crept his way down the snowy caps of his home. The less altitude the warmer it seemed to get for the hound-like beast, and soon he found his way mindlessly wandering towards the fresh fields, isolated due to the cold of winter, or at least they should have been.
As he carried on mindlessly along the plains he noticed a gathering. He crept around to the outskirts, pulled towards the forest tree line where he could study this odd herd from afar. It was a mixture of Soquili and Two-Leggers. How they could interact so peacefully baffled him. Never had he approached one of their kind nor did he have any intentions to do so. Mistress told him it was best to stay concealed in the shadows and while he wanted to rebel he was afraid she might be right. He was a beast of hideous proportions and if he were to just stumbled upon the crowd he would most likely cause them to scatter, or at least that's what played out in his mind.
While he watched a female human weaving a basket a mare began to wander his way, reaching the outskirts of the get together. He sunk deeper into the trees, hoping they'd hide him from her bright eyes. What was she doing way over here. Shouldn't somebody as stunning as her be he the life of the party? His solid blue eyes continued to stare with curiosity as Vei'Ran ventured further from the party and nearer to him. Once the mare was within ear shot he mumbled in his usual rough tone, raspy from lack of use, "Are you not enjoying the gathering?" He showed parts of himself from behind a tree but mostly he hid his horrific face and hung his hairless canine tail low, hoping she wouldn't spot it. Thank goodness for foliage.

Vei paused, staring at the brilliance of markings hiding in the brush. "It... Would seem I've no stallion to speak with, in that rabble. Even my birdbrain of a companion has abandoned me." She leaned sideways a bit, taking a step forward to peer at the stallion and try to get a better view. "Forgive me, if I'm mistaken, but... Did you not also come along with this migration? Why do you hide yourself?"
She couldn't figure it out, herself. Such brilliant markings, vibrant, almost glowing colors to his pelt... And that voice... She had to stifle a shiver crawling down her spine. "Come out and join the party, hmm? I'm sure there will still be some good apples left by the time we reach the barrel..." She waited at the edge of the field, hoping to draw loose the buck for a decent look at his pelt. Hell, she'd flirt with an ogre if she thought it'd warm the hay at night, but this lout didn't look to be some ogre...

Kore would occasionally tilt his head forward and lean, contorting himself in just the right manner so as to show as little of his face as possible. There were risks of her catching glimpse of his sharpened teeth or gruesome horns but he wanted to see her in all her glorious beauty. Still, as nice and as pretty as she was being Kore had some uncertainties about her. What if it was a trick? Perhaps she was only trying to lure him out into the open so she could attack him more brutally with snark remarks. Though, even his doubts had doubts. This burnt orange mare seemed genuine in her words, and her curious actions were sweetly naive.
The bulky stallion shuffled behind the bush all the more with how she leaned to get a better look. "They were fools to abandon such a mare as yourself... it is their loss, honestly." He tried to speak the truth but he truly didn't know this mare. He was only attempting to get on her good side for the time being. "What is this migration you speak of? I was born in these lands..." he assumed at least that much. When he popped out of his basket he was all alone, and figured he had been abandoned due to his grotesque deformities. She was unaware of those though, obviously, for she asked why he concealed himself from her. "I... I wish not to frighten you, my dear."

She hummed. "The migration of the otherworlders... The lot of us, this whole gathering... Myself..." She hummed. "A few baskets were lost in the migration, though. Fell from their mothers' backs wagons or somesuch." She hummed. She nodded over at some of the harpies and other unusually built creatures. "Some of them made their way back."
She gave a grin as she turned back to him. "I'm a hard scare, you silver-tongued beast. Come on out." She smiled and lunged for the bushes to grip at a bit of his mane and try to tug him from his spot. "Let me decide if I should run and scream like some stupid little filly just kiss'd."

Kore blinked a few times at her explanation on the migration and how some baskets toppled off the transportation. "Other worlders?" he spoke in a curious tone before timidly glancing at the others. It was true. Some held unusual characteristics much like himself, but none of them were as horrific as himself. Well, at least in Kore's state of mind. Surely, there were one or two out there who were more horrifying to stand in the presence with than Kore.
While he pondered what could have happened during the migration and if he was truly apart of it Vei seemed to catch him off guard. "Oomph!" he grunted in his deep raspy voice when the orange hued mare jumped right in and took a mouth full of his mane, tugging him out. "Ugh, no! Wait, you don't understand!" he shouted at the girl but he was clip clopping along, trying to lessen the pressure on his scalp as he followed her. Once he was out in the open he gave a final tug of his hair and managed to break free of her hold and just stared with wide light blue eyes. He was in shock maybe, just waiting for whatever the mare might do. Would she be disappointed or perhaps relieved that he lived up to the expectation of a monster? This wait felt like eternity.

The mare grinned as she let his mane loose, eyes closed for the retreat. "There, now, that's not so bad, is it?" Her eyes opened on a creature that almost drew a schoolfoal's squeel, how unique he was. "Well, aren't you a lovely spectacle?" She purred out, her voice taking the accents of silver as she wandered around his shoulder to look over his frame. "You're not the only one like you, y'know... There's a red one in here somewhere... And a green, I think?" She hummed and shook her head. "No, just the red... The green was another like me."

The hound like stallion widened his orbs at the mere mentioning of another like himself. There were more than just one of his kind? Was he apart of some species, maybe? The possibility that this could be actually real made his heart thump in his chest. "Y-you're not afraid of me and you're telling me I'm not the only one of my kind? I... I have difficulties believing your words," he glanced down at the floor but knew calling her a liar probably wouldn't make her like him. "I... I just... I thought I was a beast. You mean to tell me that I'm not?" This was a hard pill to swallow and didn't feel as relieved as he would have thought news like this would make him feel. "You're so comfortable around me... as if I'm normal. You're an odd one," he gave the faintest smile, but tried to hold back on account of baring his teeth might make her think he was threatening or something.

Vei hummed, walking the rest of the way around him and sliding the whole of her frame along his side to nuzzle up under his horn and chin, grinning up at you. "Oh, you ARE a beast... We all are... You're just not as monstrous as you seem to think..." She purred softly. The silk in her voice seemed to lay over every word as her tail brushed his own, some of the threads of it's mass even wrapping about his. "It would seem... I have someone to talk to, then, hmm?"

Kore let out a puff of air he didn't even realize he had been holding in his icy lungs. A blue tinted fog left his fang lined mouth and eyes were mesmerized, just staring out to the distance and examining all the other beastly Soquili. In this moment he didn't feeling quite as along as he had thought he was. As he body slid against his he gave a shudder at her warmth and surely the mare felt how cold he was. maybe she would pick up that he wasn't quite like others. Not only was he deformed physically with his odd features and cold body but mentally messed up as well. He only prayed that Mistress would keep herself at bay for the time being. Just long enough for him to get to know her more before she scared the mare off.
When she asked if she had somebody to talk to he felt a smile growing all the more. "It still baffles my mind that you of all people here would be without company. You're so-" he cut himself off before he could speak his mind. He wanted to say she was stunning, hauntingly gorgeous, and breathtaking to say the least, but instead he switched his words out of fear. "You're so kind..." he felt his smile falter slightly before glancing down, a bit of warmth coming to his cheeks from his embarrassment.

Vei hummed, pushing her own breath through the smoke-like blue fog and watching it split and twirl in the air. She was already musing about the pair of them hiding under a blanket after a wild evening, but she brought herself back to reality, if slowly. "Well... I prefer... Private... Conversations..." She miled up at the brute, stuffing her nose up underneath his own muzzle like a cat might. "You get so much more out of a... one-on-one..."
She paused, when he chose his words to describe her, sliding out in front of him in the most alluring way she could thing to do it. "Kind? Sweetie, I'm not being Nice, here, I'm being honest." She was quiet for a moment. "Is 'Kind' the only thing that comes to mind? Not... Pretty?" She said, batting her eyelashes. "Or... Vindictive? Selfish?" She wandered up along his other side and nuzzled into it again, shivering at the chill his coat invoked in her own. "Not even... Presumptuous?"

This mare was truly something else. She wasn't frightened, wasn't hesitant, and surely didn't respect his personal space. Who was he to complain though? Never had he felt so normal and he so desperately wanted to keep a grasp on this sensation inside of him of acceptance. Vei'Ran made him feel uncomfortable but in new ways he had never felt before. New and exciting ways. As the orange, vibrant female lingered so near to his body he leaned away, knowing that Mistress wasn't fond of him getting this close to others. Oh, what a terrible thing it would be to have the monster inside of him come out and ruin such a friendly meeting between the two.
Kore stammered over his words as she began asking him question after question. "P-pretty? Vindictive? Selfish!?" he questioned all her words and gave a small snort in his rough voice, eyebrows furrowed with a sternness he often held on his countenance. "No.... none of those words came to mind. You are not pretty, but stunning. You are not vindictive, but relentless. You are not selfish, but acquisitive." He spoke, unable to with hold a smile this time, sharing all his sharp pearly whites with the girl. He didn't know what it was but cruel words couldn't describe this maiden. He only wished to shower her with positive things for she gave him such peculiar feelings. Somethings he hadn't quite felt before.

Vei purred up at him, grinning as he spoke. "Oh... Quite the charmer..." She grinned softly, closing the distance again as he moved away. "And such a lovely maw full of fangs... I thought only Kalona had jaws so pretty..." She hummed up at him and purred softly, shaking her neck so her mane brushed his own and flicking her tail. "Do you... Mind... That I stand so close to you, you strange little thing?"

The blue steed gave a weary stare as she neared him yet again with kind remarks to boot. Such a peculiar girl. So stunning and beautiful with her unique coat and her bright intense eyes and yet she wished to affiliate herself with such a beast as himself. Perhaps she had a special interest in monsters. "I do, actually..." he spoke softly and took a small side step away, almost as a flinch. "I do not wish you to be harmed..." he spoke with protectiveness, flashes of memories came to mind. There was no avoiding Mistress forever and surely if he hung around this pretty mare she would eventually meet the unruly vixen inside of him.

Vei hummed at the odd little brute, grinning over at him and insisting on her own proximity despite his returning attempt at avoiding her. "You... Don't want me to get hurt? How do you know pushing me away won't hurt us both? ... Or that I don't want to be hurt by such a lovely brute, hmm?" She hummed as she thought for a moment, peering over her shoulder at the vast field behind them, off to the side of the party. "Well... How about if we take a walk, then? Wander through the fields, learn more about each other... Find a nice log to lean over..."
