Basic Information
The weapon is essentially an M14 refitted with a different stock to operate as a bull-pup weapon. The device shaves off 12 inches from a standard M14 or M1A weapon, and adds about1.5 pounds (although the removal of certain pieces, such as the stock, may compensate for the addition of the weight), although with weapons like the EBR and various other M14 models the differences can vary.
Additionally, while the barrel length of a standard M14 is 22 inches, the barrel length may vary, although most models fit within 18-24 inches.
With various wooden pieces removed and the stock shortened, it's possible for the weapon to be even lighter weight and even shorter, although a different system is potentially required.
Additionally, the weapon can use 20 round Magpul magazines instead of standard M14 magazines, if desired.
