Rain, both revitalizes the land and washes away the old stagnant layers of earth no longer necessary for the growth of life. Deep beneath the ground, roots happily absorbed the rich liquid falling from the sky, taking their fill of the life sustaining rain. Protected under the canopy of branches, a colorful stallion stood, his eyes closed as he listened to the pitter patter of the rain upon the leaves; it was incredibly peaceful and provided the stallion with easy access into a meditative state. Inhale… exhale… soon his breathing fell into a slow constant pattern, and his mind became empty of all thought.
Time passed, but the rain continued on and the stallion did not move, his eyes still closed to the world, a small smile resting upon his countenance. He had been traveling for many months now, exploring the world and advancing his knowledge on the idea of Yin and Yang. Each opportunity he received, he would try to improve his philosophy of the world.
Zachary opened his blue eyes and looked out upon the wet landscape; he loved the rain for after all the darkness and grey, the world always shown when the rainbow appeared.

Rain wasn't something the mare enjoyed all that much. Most of the time she avoided it or wished it would turn to snow. She loved the snow and missed it, but sometimes wished winter was a year round season. That was her season, but slowly she was getting use to the rain. Even though she didn't like it and if this was months earlier, she would have been found being a hermit in a cave to escape it. Not now though. Now she was becoming more happily acquainted with the rain. It was her only friend in her time of sadness. Her time of anguish. Even now the only comfort she felt was the rain falling down against her back. A slight cold twinge shook through her body, but she brushed it off.
Her hair fell in her face as she kept her head low and she tried to flip it out of her face in vain, but it was too soaked to even move. Sighing at her own failure, she continued to walk through the mud that felt a little mushy under her hooves. She was troubled like always, but there wasn't nothing wrong with how she felt. She should be feeling this way, but it was making her feel more and more hopeless. No one seemed to give her a good enough reason to stay around here or be happy for that matter.
She wasn't happy and didn't know how she even could be.
As she walked further across the open landscape, she took notice to the cold world of gray around her. Boring and pointless is all she saw now. Not many could change her mind otherwise. Today was proving to be nothing different then any other day.

Gazing out at the grey world with clear blue eyes, Zachary could not help feel more at one with the soaked world; a poem he had once heard during one of his meditative travels came to mind, it described the sensation he was currently feeling.
“Dark grey clouds fill sky, Rain drops fall to remain were they lie, A calm peace covers the land, As the rain falls to the earth unplanned. Those who remain under the falling drops, Wait patiently until the rain stops. It is a sight what happens then, And is an occurrence they wish to see again. For revealed in the light’s glow, Is a beautiful rainbow."
Zachary knew that many did not love the rain, for they could only see the greyness that the world holds and do not look forward to the future, when the world is bright with a shining rainbow filling the sky. He had heard of stories of gold being found at the end of rainbows, he did not believe that gold was exactly what was found per se, for the word gold could represent any treasure be it metallic or not. Zachary smiled, today was going to be a great day.
