He was home again. The crisp winter air, sharp n** of frost in the wind, the layer of white blanketing everything softly. Welcome to Clarus Aarbor in the dead of winter. It was good to be home, to see how much his younger siblings had grown and all. They were growing up rather quickly, much faster than Theo had thoughtly. He chuckled a little. It made him feel old, this train of thought. So he abandoned it for something more cheerful. The looks on their faces when he'd shown them the mountain of presents. Then story after story of his year in school and graduation, what Moonfall was like. The endless chatter and noise that always filled his childhood home. Theo found himself smiling and laughing, with more than one of the younger kids tentatively touching the horns that had grown after him taking his tea.

FInally, finally, he decided to take a walk alone. Phil had slipped off, muttering something about visiting friends and giving gifts. His youngest brother had wanted to come along but Theo had been firm about it. He wanted to go see some of his old haunts, wander around the woods again as he did. It was different in winter, when everything was white compared to the lush greenery that surrounded Clarus Arbor in the summer months. He came to a fork in the road and took a left. He vauguely remembered there being a house of some sort here. Perhaps it was still there. Theo smiled slightly as he walked, not really caring where he went. This was his home, he grew up here. Getting lost was hardly a possibility, what with all the wandering he had done with Phil when they were kids. He knew the area well enough to trace his steps back.

While Theo began to wander the snow-covered forest, he would eventually see a set of tracks in the snow. The shoe prints were large, and leading up a pathway. But soon that one set of prints turned into three, then four. Either the owner of these prints had been lost, or he was simply moving around an area he called home.

The answer would become crystal clear when, around a bend, the shrine came into view. The tall youth was home and currently brushing snow from the roof of his home. Although the white fluffy stuff was beautiful, the weight could crush the old delicate shrine. Thus, he was standing there on the roof with a push broom, causing mini avalanches of snow with each swipe.

Even though he seemed graceful, and seemed to know what he was doing, one wrong step was his expected downfall. Soon his face collided with the snow-covered roof and his body went tumbling down, down, down, creating a poof of snow as he belly flopped into its pillowy softness. Thankfully it was soft, and not frozen over. A few choice words were mumbled from the man buried in the snow, rising as if he were coming out of his grave.

"Well... That's one way to get the snow off the roof..." he muttered to himself, brushing snow off from his clothing. What he needed now was a hot cup of tea and a long sit next to the fire.

Strange. Why were there footprints here? Last Theo came here, there was.. no one living in the woods. Well, besides the rumoured biogfoot and wolves, bears and anything to frighten them away from the woods. Not that it had deterred Phil much on his quest for herbs. Theo sighed and followed the footprints, curious to where they led. They were clearly footprints of shoes, made by a human and not a bear. At least he knew he wouldn't be auled to death by an angry animal. So where did this path lead to again? He knew these woods by heart and if memory served well, there were.. ruins here right? Some crumbling shrine or something. He couldn't quite remember.

The muffled whump announced the presence of someone else, which made Theo even more suspicious. He rounded the bend only to find a strange purple man half-buried in snow. Judging by the broom and the state of the shrine, someone had tried and failed to sweep the roof clear. But the shrine looked better than it had before. Not quite so.. fragile and breakable now, considering how it looked on the verge of collapse the last time he had seen it. Theo stood there and surveyed the scene before him. It was odd, no doubt, but it was also an opportunity, if one regarded it as such. The man was.. vaguely familiar yet entirely unfamiliar.

"It certainly is." Theo replied, his sharp ears having caught the soft mutterings as the strange purple man got up. "At least the job's done now." He commented. The man appeared barely older than Theo himself. A witch? Perhaps but.. not quite either. Strange. Then what was he?

His head snapped up when he heard a new voice, his hands stilling in their motion to brush snow from his person. This voice was unlike the ghosts he usually heard, and from it alone he could tell this being was present and not omnipresent. It wasn't hard to see the boy in his entrance way. "That it is." Cassiel muttered, not really having anything else to say on the matter. His attention went back to his clothing as he brushed a bit more snow off, though he continued to speak. "It's cold, or rather... I'm cold. Would you like to come inside for some tea?"

Again he looked up to see the youth, an eyebrow lifting as he waited for an answer. Although it was cold out, this majin didn't seem to be bothered by it. Ah... If only he were so lucky. Instead he had the tip of his ears screaming for the warmth of a fire.

Now that he could clearly see the other man, it was clear that the other was definitely not human. No human had ears like that. He didn't seem to be a majin either. It was however, somewhat amusing to see him half-buried in snow. He was going to be so wet, especially if he didn't hurry. Theo smirked a little, deciding he'd accept the invitation. "If it's not too much of a bother." He replied, his hands stuck inside his pockets for a little warmth. He wasn't too fond of the cold after all. Nothing a little magic couldn't solve, but unecessarily expending energy was pointless.

"I'm Theo, Theofratus Menniadis." He introduced himself, ambling over to where the other man was. He was in no hurry to go anywhere, after all.

"Well Theo, welcome to Araboth." Cassiel muttered as he lead the way up to his home. It was a cozy looking home built out of an ancient tree stump. For the looks of it, it was kept well over the years by generations of exorcisma that lived there. So far Cassiel was keeping up with the household maintenance.

"My name is Cassiel," he started, pausing just inside the home. He waved his hand towards the greeting room where a fire was currently burning. Around the room various magical items decorated antique shelves. But the pale man was almost looking blue as he stood there. "Please, make yours-s-elf comfortable. I want to go put on something dry and I'll bring t-t-tea down. I do hope you like tea, if not, I can get you some instant cof-f-f-f-ffee. From what I hear though, instant isn't all that great but it's all I have unfortunately. The tea, however, is good." The poor man was stuttering he was so cold! He didn't really wait for an answer, hating how rude it must look to just walk away... but he needed something warm!

He was gone for several minutes, but soon a creak on the floor boars alerted the man downstairs that Cassiel would be returning. The exorcisma came downstairs dressed in his........... pajamas?! Yes, the tall man came down in fleece like pajama set, a soft lavender color. "Sorry for the wait. I brought down some tea and chocolate chip cookies that I made yesterday." The tray was set down upon a small table and Cassiel grabbed one of the cups to offer it to his guest.

"So tell me... what brings you out this far? Isn't it a bit cold outside to be roaming the woods?" He muttered, starting the small talk. It's what he does, talk and talk... and talk.
