The play was right around the bend. Sure they'd dealt with the whole school closing thing and everything was going fine, but--Roch was stressed out. He thought he'd get sleep again after his crush on Xiu faded, but just as the worry about that crap stopped, the worry about the music started.
Could he pull it off? Jack he hoped so. He had found himself laying in his bed late at night trying to go over the notes again and again in his mind--it was driving him crazy. And sure Xiu had said something about tea to help him sleep, but... well, the way he grew up, he'd seen way too many people get attached to "aids" to help them sleep already.
No... it was early morning and he was already out of bed, walking through the campus looking for something to distract him from the melodies in his head.
Wait... when did he head towards the monster dorm? He stopped, staring at the building in front of him for a long moment before shrugging and heading inside.
Maybe Taryn was up.

Taryn was always up early, what with her early bedtime and need for preparation, but 5 was still a bit too early. The ghoul was still asleep in bed, sprawled on her side in her nightgown. She had had no issues sleeping lately herself, but she had worried to the point of checking in the night if she had left her cellphone in the cafeteria.
She had not, and had returned to her room exhausted and collapsed back into bed without thinking to lock the door.

The door wasn't locked, that meant she was up, or fine with people entering, Roch's sleep deprived mind told him as he turned the doorknob he had made his way to. He turned the doorknob and slipped inside, looking around curiously. "Taryn?" he asked.
Ahhh, there she was. Jack she looked comfy. He frowned, a bit jealous over the fact she was sleeping when he couldn't. His hand tightened on the doorknob as he told himself he should leave. This was totally creeper of him--
Somehow the door got closed. He wasn't quite sure how it'd happened, in fact he looked down at his hand blankly, then sighed. It was nice and warm in here, wasn't it? He would just lay down on her couch and--
Jack that thing was short. He groaned and started for it, sitting down. Laying down. Watching his feet go over the arm rest by a foot and a half. It hurt his neck, too...
Well... He'd shared HIS bed, he thought as he got to his feet and headed for the bed she was laying on. Was there enough room? He frowned, sitting on the edge of it. This was TOTALLY creeper. He needed to wake her up--

Lucky for Roch, the ghoul had woken up at the little bounce on her bed. Taryn's eyes fluttered open and she did not seem to see the reaper at first, focusing on nothing at all... until she did. Her eyes shot open and, after a moment of horror, she shrieked.
Roch was, after all, just a dark shape in her bedroom.

"Hey!" he said, falling off the bed and onto the ground. "Jack, sorry, didn't--I just--" He looked so guilty. "It's me!" he said belatedly. "Roch!"

It was probably a good thing that he introduced himself so quickly, as Taryn was considering lighting him on fire. The ghoul sat up and slid back against the wall, her blankets tangled around her. This was the first time anyone at Amityville would have seen her without glasses (thank Jack for Roch's purple hair or she might not have believed him) and the least clothes she had ever been in. Nightgowns weren't made to be seen, after all! Abigail lashed out and snapped at Roch, catching a bit of his shirt before being yanked back. Taryn took a moment to catch her breath and then grabbed her blankets and held them up against her chest.
"Roch! What the hell?!

Roch was staring at the snake that had almost bit him. "Jackdamn she's fast," he said, not really noticing her question. "s**t, she ain't poisonous or something, is she?"
How could he be friends (close friends) when her tail tried to kill him? No, that was definitely a no go. "I need sleep, Taryn," he said, still looking at the snake. "I haven't slept since you spent the night, and every time I lay down, I start thinkin' about the play and all the songs I gotta do and--"

Taryn clicked her tongue and leaned forward on the bed, bending over to get a proper look at Roch.
"No... at least, not yet..." she said, and then slid off of the bed carefully to join the boil on the floor. What a sad story. She still had some twinging regret about accidentally falling asleep on Roch, but if she had helped... "Roch, it's gonna go fine. You're an amazing musician."

"It ain't me, it's the gnomes," he said, looking quite pathetic. "They SUCK. I've been working and working at getting them to play halfway decent--" And again, his attention was brought to the--
Okay, no, skimpy nightgown trumped even prospectively poisonous snake. He flushed, looking away. "Ah, Taryn? I'm sorry I woke you up so early, but... uh..." he was bright red by this point as he glanced back at her. "I should probably go."

"Hm?" Taryn was entirely awake, but still somewhat lost in the whole situation. She followed Roch's previous gaze, though, and noted her lack of clothes. Oh... oh boy...
Suddenly embarrassed, the ghoul stood and went to her closet, pulling on a pair of pants and a light jacket. She sat down with Roch again, avoiding his eyes and brushing her hair back behind her ear.

He leaned against the side of her bed, yawning. "I need sleep," he told her, looking a lot like a little boy. His hair was even falling to the side of his head, lacking the usual pound of hair gel. "Can I try and sleep here?" he asked pathetically. "But--your snake, she ain't gonna bite me, is she?"

"Sure you can! And no, no she won't," Taryn said, shaking her head, "We have a complex relationship, but I can't imagine she'd ever bite you unless you suddenly appeared like that. Did she get you, by the way...?" It wouldn't do well to have your best friend bitten by your rear end.

"Nah, she just caught my vest a bit," he said, looking down at it. There were tiny pinholes in it now, from her fangs. "But I think I need to make it up to her," he told her. "Uh... I don't want your snake to not like me or somethin, you know?" he said. "I mean, she sort of freaked out the other day, too..."
He yawned, but his mind was rushing. "Hey, uh... I did see this one thing on bootube..." he said, summoning his guitar. Then he stared at it blankly. "But... sleep first," he said, curling up on the floor.

"Oh, good," Taryn nodded, touching Roch's vest carefully and mushing her lips up a bit. She'd have to see about fixing those or paying him back somehow...
Now was not the time to explain to Roch the complex relationship between herself and her tail, clearly. The poor boil was falling asleep sitting up. She had opened her mouth as if to begin, and then closed it promptly. ...was he really going to try and sleep on the floor?! "No, no! Come on, you can have the--" What would a proper host do?
"You can have my bed, if you'd like..." How saucy of her! The chimera blushed deeply and ducked her head a bit.

He crawled into the bed, barely awake, then opened his eyes, staring at her. Then he scooted over, because clearly this wasn't going to work without her THERE, since that's how it worked last time, right?
He was sooo freakin' out of it.
