Eternal Sailor Chaonis was on a mission.
It was time to get his butt back to his planet. Back being a strange word to use, as he had never gone there before. But he had been to other planets and knew that they were tied to some sort of past life, and that was where he had been there before. He would have memories, or some s**t, and blah blah blah.
He was not really up to date on all the details, and he did not care about them beyond knowing that he had a planet, and it was probably cool. He hoped, anyway. The planets he had visited so far had been pretty awesome, so why wouldn't his be?
He was Danger.
So he was walking toward the library, where he had started his journey to other planets before, thinking that it was about as quiet and calm as it could get. That was important, he heard. Whatever. He just knew he could get in there, which was the real motivation for the choice.
Pausing near the library, he felt the aura of someone good nearby. Not a senshi, one of those knight guys, but it moved away and then vanished at length. They were gone, whoever they were, and immediately stopped mattering to Chaonis. He moved to the back door, to let himself in to the library.

Super Sailor Pasiphae was heading towards the library for an entirely different reason. Normally she would pop in the library of her own accord in order to grab or to return a book, maybe to use a study room if all the ones at Crystal Academy were full during finals week. Today, however, she was just looking for a place to return to her civilian form; the lace detailing on her gloves were coated in fine, black dust from successful youma fighting. All she wanted to do was become Penelope again and get back to the rest of her day... the library just happened to be the closest location where she was fairly certain no one would see her. It was with these thoughts in mind that she approached the back door of the building.
The sudden appearance of a familiar face, however, both startled and pleased her, and her greeting was punctuated with a somewhat sheepish smile, as she sheepishly greeted the Eternal Senshi, "Hello Chaonis..."

Chaonis looked surprised when Pasiphae appeared, and he grinned at her immediately, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Well, well, if it isn't Pasiphae. It's been what, forever?" he shook his head, as if that was disappointing to him. To be fair, though, he hadn't contacted her recently, either, which was something he now regretted. He had been wrapped up in training newbies and hassling bad guys.
He grinned, unable to hold the disappointed look for long.
"Hey, you're here just in time. I was going to get into this library here, and then see about going to space. You've done that right? The space thing? I've never been to my planet but I think it's about damn time."
He had been to too many other planets, but not his own, and that was getting tiring. As cool and interesting as they were, he was almost certain his was going to be a whole lot cooler. Right? He was awesome, after all, so he assumed his planet would be, too.

Pasiphae was accutely aware of how long it had been since she had last seen Chaonis, her very first teacher, and the pseudo-disappointment he exuded intitally felt all too real to her as her smile immediately faded into apology. "I'm sorry... I know I've been out of touch. I'm trying to get better at checking in, to make sure everyone is doing okay..." But even as she spoke, the shift in the Danger Senshi's demeanor to a grin made her relax somewhat as well. Her voice softened as she confessed, "And I'm glad to see that you're well, Chaonis."
She was not expecting to hear about space travel, but she listened to it eagerly. It was a relief, honestly, that he didn't comment on her newly updated fuku; Pasiphae had been recieving a lot of attention lately for her new clothes and said attention could be a little... embarassing for her. At least when it came to visiting space she could contribute something of use.
"I went to my moon once; Perseus came with me and taught me how to travel," Pasiphae confirmed, twirling her thick hair nervously between her fingers. She didn't necessarily want to relive the visit, though it was one of the happier memories she had of the pink sphere from which she drew her powers. The most recent nightmare involving the place, though, was fresh in her mind, so she was more than happy to focus more on Chaonis and his desire to go to his planet. "I was... kind of scared to go, but I can't say I regret it."

Chaonis arched his eyebrow, tilting his head at her. He wondered for a moment if something really was wrong, if she had been out of touch because she had been in danger or suffering in some way. He hadn't thought to actually care at first, but considering how close he had been to her, admitting it out loud or not, now he found he was worried.
A little late on that front, but at least it happened.
And her relief at him not mentioning her outfit would likely be short lived. He was basically always biding his time for a good joke.
"Alright, then you can show me how to do this," he'd gotten notes on it before: the last few times he went to other people's planets he had seen the process and he knew what he had to do. He wasn't really asking for help so much as he was company. Maybe he didn't want to go back there alone.
He nodded at her, grinning. He didn't know what happened on her planet, but he was ready for some fun on his.
"Come on," he said, motioning for her to come into the library with him.

"I'll be more than happy to tell you what Perseus taught me, but I've only been once... so I'm not the most experienced space traveler," Pasiphae instinctively followed Chaonis's lead, but she felt that she had to voice her concerns. She wanted him to have the best experience possible, and as always she wasn't sure that she was the best person to provide it. But she didn't whip out her Senshi phone to contact Perseus or Europa or some other, more experienced Senshi for two reasons. First, she felt certain that if Chaonis wanted, or needed, to call someone else for help he would do so. He had been a Senshi and making connections longer than she had, afterall.
Second, Pasiphae wanted to be there. Sure, she always wanted to please others, to help them if she could, but this time it was... different. The more time she spent as a Senshi, and perhaps especially now after the events in the Surrounding, the more she was beginning to realize that, unlike her civilian life, she actually had... friends. (Of course she had Harper, but even that relationship was complicated by the war they had both been inducted into.) Friendship was still a new idea to the reserved girl, and she wasn't always sure that she did her best to do it right. But accompanying Chaonis, a friend, a teacher, an ally, to his world, to make sure that he was not alone... that had to be right.
So, as she continued to follow the Eternal Senshi, she gave a brief description of what she had learned, hoping that if anything was lacking then Chaonis would still have the time to call someone else for help, if need be, "You have to be able to hear Chaonis's call to you... and to block out all the calls of the other planets, stars, and moons. When you do that, you hit the 'home' button on your phone. That's... that's all, I think." Pasiphae couldn/t help but blush; It had all sounded so elegant when Perseus had said it. She sounded like a technical manual.

Chaonis nodded his head as he listened. He was not exactly the best student around. He was one of those kids that used to never study, only half listened in class, and just swung randomly when the tests came up. If he hit or he missed he didn't really care, as long as he got through it.
Of course, he had dropped out of school pretty early, and for good reason. He was a smart guy, but didn't apply himself. To anything but this.
Being a senshi was his new thing. The one thing he believed in, in his way. He was loyal to it, to those that fought with him, and he actually wanted to keep pushing himself. It wasn't work. It was fun. It was his.
He took out his phone once they were in a quiet area of the library. Which was all the areas of the library: it wasn't exactly open to the public at the moment. He knew the place like the back of his hand. He knew where the cameras were, which ones worked and which ones didn't. His father didn't think he listened when he complained about his work, but Nathan listened for the important details.
He looked at her, grinning. "Alright, then. Hang on and we'll see where we go." He nodded his head, looking at his phone and then closing his eyes. He could take things seriously in short doses. "You ready?" at least he didn't drag her through space without asking first.

Pasiphae never doubted Chaonis's abilities and knowledge, so while part of her may have been curious as to how he could navigate the library so well, she never uttered a complaint or a question. She readily followed his lead and, after offering what advice she could, merely waited for him to tell her she was ready.
At his question and his tell-tale grin, the Shame Senshi offered a smile of her own and gently placed a hand on one of his shoulder pads, "Ready when you are."

Chaonis nodded his head. He looked at her, very nearly looking nervous, but that was not an emotion he knew or understood in the day to day. He grinned instead, and then focused on their phone.
Moments later, they were pulled through space, and once the head spinning stopped they would find themselves on what had to be planet Chaonis.
They appeared in a low valley, only a few feet wide, surrounded on all sides by high rock walls with jagged outcroppings. Everything was coated in a thick, orange dust, and it was clear that nothing had disrupted this still place in ages. Chaonis looked around, which did not take long, considering where they had appeared, and grunted.
So far, he was disappointed.
"So we're in a hole," he said, looking up to see the way out, high above them. They would have to climb out if they wanted to see the planet for what it really was. Unless this was it. Chaonis would be pissed if this was it. He looked at Pasiphae, trying not to look furious just yet but it was clear his mood had taken a sharp detour downwards with this turn of events.
"How are you at climbing?" He asked, leaping at the wall and grabbing on to the various jutting rocks for support. At least there were plenty of things to help them up.

Pasiphae had held her breath during the traveling process, steeling herself against the dizzying effects that she knew would be accompanying the space travel. She released it slowly when she and Chaonis materialized on his planet, eagerly taking in all that was around her. Orange dust. Jagged rock walls. A sky full of stars hovering above them to indicate that they were not on the surface. She bit her lip and looked over to Chaonis. This experience was... different than coming to her own moon. She realized too well that she was a stranger to this place, as it had none of the familiarity that Pasiphae had had. Judging from the male Senshi's expression, however, she was not alone in having apprehensive feelings.
She hid her own doubts, therefore, when he asked her about climbing--that last thing he needed was to worry about her. She had never -tried- rock climbing before... but she had climbed on top of the Great Youma, so maybe it would be similiar? "I'm sure I can manage well enough. I just might be slow." Without further ado, she reached for holds of her own and carefully began the journey up.

Chaonis wasn't getting anything. Weren't there supposed to be memories or something? That was what had happened on some of the other planets he visited. Hell, one of his friends had even seen him in their memory.
But he had nothing to go on here.
He was looking grumpy. Grumpier than usual, anyway.
With one last glance her way, to make sure she wasn't digging instead of climbing or something, he nodded and let her climb at her own pace. He hauled himself up quickly, until he reached the lip of the ravine and pulled himself over. He was covered in orange dust by the end of it, and it clung to his fuku with an annoying determination not to be shaken.
He ignored it, looking around.
Basically, he might as well have come to the grand canyon. That was what it looked like to him. Far mesa's and towering rock structures, deep ravines and cracks in the planet's surface that varied in size and depth. The one they had appeared in was reasonably small, compared to some of the others. He grunted and turned, stooping to offer his hand to Pasiphae, a cloud of dust kicking up as he moved, then settling immediately.
"Come on," he said, wanting to go take a look down the biggest canyon he could see from there. She could bet that if she took his hand she was going to get yanked the rest of the way out of the hole.

Pasiphae accepted the offered hand, half-grunting whenever she and Chaonis worked together to get her over the top. Like him, she was covered in the orange dirt that seemed to permeate the place, but she had been similarly covered in the pink soil of her own moon and had survived. (Such rationalization did not, however, keep her from unconciously patting at her skirt to remove some of the excess). While her companion may have been upset over the lack of interaction with his world, the Shame Senshi found herself gasping at the beauty of the world around them. She had never seen such geography outside of a book, and the towering rocks and ravines created a far more interesting terrain than that of Pasiphae.
When she turned to express such sentiments to Chaonis, she could see a distinct grumpiness in his demeanor. She did not know the cause, and she did not dare hazard a guess, although it was surely something to do in connection with his world. She turned the bracelet on her wrist, disappointed slightly when the familiar clicking sound of pearl and bead were hampered somewhat by the dust. Still, the action was soothing in itself as she asked her fellow Senshi, "Your planet is beautiful... but... is everything okay?"

Once Pasiphae had cleared the lip of the hole they had been trapped in, Chaonis returned to his grumping about the planet. He thought it would be far more awesome than it turned out. He was the goddamn Senshi of Danger: weren't their planets supposed to reflect a part of themselves or some hokey s**t like that?
Apparently Danger must have meant something different here, way back then.
"Beautiful wasn't what I was expecting," he admitted with a petulant frown and a kick of his foot against the ground. Dust rose up, then fell back down to the terrain. It did not linger in the air for long. There seemed to be very little, if any, wind. How it had come to be there, this thick coating of orange and reddish dust, was not something Chaonis cared to question.
He didn't question most things, in fact. In this case, he just assumed that old things got dusty.
"Come on, let's go look at that canyon over there." Something in his gut told him that if he was going to find anything, it would be in that gorge. He hoped that was an instinct, and not just wishful thinking. Either way, he shoved it down because he hated being disappointed and wasn't going to get excited for a damn thing when so far it had been a joke.
He started walking, imagining she would follow him because she had no where else to really go.

The Shame Senshi quickly followed where he led; even if they hadn't been on his planet, she would've done so. She had never been to a canyon before and found herself strangely excited by the prospect. But her excitement was dampened somewhat by Chaonis's reactions. She doubted he felt the same way she had when she had first heard about having a moon, doubted he had the same kinds of nightmares. But she didn't want him to be disappointed... to gain nothing from the trip to his planet. So, despite her better judgment... she began to talk.
"My moon, Pasiphae... is very pink," the girl told him quietly as they moved towards the canyon. It wasn't like her to bring up personal information, but she did so now with a reason. Maybe it would make Chaonis feel better to know--that was her intention. "Very flat, dull... nothing at all like this. But I was still scared... scared because of what I had seen, in my dreams." She paused here, unconciously batting at the orange dust that coated her gray skirt and coughing whenever it puffed up slightly into her face. "Not that I think you're scared, at all. I just mean that... I don't know what you expected to find, Chaonis, but... I hope that you find whatver it is you're looking for."

Chaonis looked at her when she began speaking, and it first it seemed like he might bite her. Literally or not was up in the air, as annoyed as he looked. Still, he listened stiffly and didn't do anything in response, at least not at first.
He was considering things.
Anyway, he was privately interested in her planet, and what she had to say about it. He did, actually, like visiting other people's planets. Maybe not coming to his own for so long had been with purpose. It turned out, at least it seemed so, that it was no where near as cool as the other places he had seen. It didn't look like anyone had ever lived here.
If he wanted to see canyons, he could just turn on the nature channel or something.
"I wanted to find something," he said, at length. If she was sharing, he might as well too. Though he did it with a grumpy face and an irritated expression, as if she were forcing him to but she was not doing so in any way and they both knew it. "Anything. But this? There's nothing here. I might as well be at the Grand Canyon, not in space. I dunno, I guess I thought there would be something... important."
They approached the biggest canyon and it sprawled before them, revealing winding paths cut into the stone face, and revealing carvings into the rock. Large pillars stood before gaping archways and tunnels. Whatever were inside those tunnels was lost in darkness and out of sight. Down in the very bottom of the canyon, what seemed like miles down, were towering structures of some kind, that could not be made out. Everything seemed built out of heavy stone and thick metal, nothing delicate to be seen and not because it had eroded or been lost to time. It just did not ever exist.
