User ImageMaysa hated being prey! But there was nothing else she could do. She had to run and hide. The two legged hunters were back to finish what they started with her family pride. It wasn't enough to kill all of her family, even her cub nieces and nephews. Even the infant cousins that were born not a week before the poachers had killed and skinned them for their beautiful fur coats.

And now they were back for her.

Maysa looked around the savannah for a better hiding place than ducked behind the large boulders, but the swaying grass, both tan and green, provided very little shelter for her beautiful colorings. If she could find a cave near by, she probably wouldn't glow, unless they flashed light at her, but there were no caves near by. And even the forest was too far to loose these hunters in.

She had to do something, but she bit back the rumbling roar that was so close to the surface. They were going to circle around her soon, surround her and use those bang things on her. Oh, she knew it would be the hole leaving bang things, because that would damage her fur, but it would be the beak of the hummingbird type bang thing. And then she'd fall over and collapse like she'd seen the two-legged hunters do to elephants sometimes as she stayed out of sight. Those two-legged hunters though didn't seem as bad as the ones after her know. The elephant always woke up, without their tusks, but at least they woke up. These hunters, though killed for the fur. And they deserved to be skinned as well!

She needed to tuck herself into a small cubby hole that they couldn't reach, so even if they shot her, they'd be unable to pull her out and finish the job.
