Despite how sleepy Robert was, and how hard it was to get Robert out of bed, he had been on time to his missions lately. Hell, it was a bit of a miracle that he had shown up to every one of them. But, Caelius had lit a fire under his a** with that pod scare, and nothing motivated a team worker like threatening to kill them.
So there he was, right on time, a little disheveled but at least he smelled like he'd taken a shower, which was an improvement. He hopped out into the Life Arena; hadn't Jordan said this place was some giant game of Jenga?
Sweet. He was awesome at Jenga.*
"HELLOOOOOOOO." Robert cupped his mouth and yelled out to the empty arena, waiting to see who else was out there. The word echoed slightly, and he knew what he had to do.
"NOOWW BATTINGGGG FOR THE NEW YORK YANKEESyankeesyankees - ROOOBERRTT MORRIISSSSmorrismorris."

"Well this is off to a typical start, Morris," Clarice jeered from behind him. "Quit ******** around and take a seat before I change my mind about this. How the hell are you even up for promotion, anyways?"

Robert's moment of glory was shattered as if Clarice had just taken a baseball bat to it with her voice. He slumped and groaned, turning around to give her a sour glance. "It's so good to see you too, Clarice." Yes, he said her name like Hannibal. Who would have expected otherwise? "You're looking so lovely today. Is that a new witch's broom in your hand, or are you just happy to see me?"
He dropped down on a chair, his legs splayed out long and haphazardly in front of him, and dropped his hands to his hips. "Well, you see, when a boy wishes hard enough, and taps his heels three times, his wish comes true! And my wish was clearly to be stuck in a room with you, sun-"
No, not that. ".. Sunny." A lame ending, but he wasn't about to use Petra's nickname on Clarice.

"I'm going to ignore that lame ending so you can feel better about yourself, Robert." And Clarice was obviously all about building up his self-esteem. "But I'll be happy to make that particular wish come true." Her smile as she took her own seat wasn't exactly nice, and closely resembled that of the piranhas swimming about. "Your mission, should you choose to accept, is to complete the training course you never bothered to even attempt. You'll be playing against me for this, so don't expect me to make this easy for you." She gave him an assessing look, "Now are you gonna go first, or do you need me to show you how its done?" Life Hunter BATTLE ARENA General Information The portal opens up into an observation room, and down the stairs, an odd chamber for something like hunter training. At the center of a piranha-filled pool stands a solid stone table and several chairs. The Life Arena was built underneath the demolitions and ballistics testing areas, and the chamber rumbles with the occasional explosions above. Pinpoint red lasers sweep across the room regularly, as if hidden snipers are searching for a nice target. In the center of the table sits a wooden tower, made up of smaller wooden blocks. Yes. That's right. The Life Hunters prefer to train via Jenga.
Note: Distraction techniques and Yo Momma jokes are considered viable weapons when playing competitively.
If you fail: you have knocked down the tower! A small dart hits the back of your neck. You come to several hours later, and hope Dr. H didn't do anything to your body while you were unconscious. When you look into the mirror...
If you win: you have reached 50 points! You get a sharpie marker to do with as you please. peen points go to those with the highest scores.
Mechanics - by carefully removing pieces of the tower, you earn points and advance to the next round. As the rounds continue, the odds grow steadily against you. Rolling a 1 at any point means you have knocked down the tower. Please do enjoy your mystery dart. Anything after reaching 50 points is purely for peen.
- you may roll pieces individually (suggested for group play) or in batches of 5 (basically, a full round.)

"I don't need you showing me nothin', sweetheart." Robert growled, before giving her a sugar-coated smile and getting up to bat. The pieces looked easy enough, after all it was only the beginning of the game. His finger poked through an easy, boring first move - he was playing it safe around Clarice. For now. When the piece fell, he turned and bent down to give Clarice the most exaggerated of bows. "My dear lady, please do me the honor of taking your first move." He remained in his bow, if only so she couldn't see how hard he was trying not to laugh. Status Round: 1 Pieces Taken: 1 Total Points: 1

"You are such a tool," she murmured, smoothly pulling out her own piece. "And speaking of which, have you been wrapping yours?" Clarice held the piece up between her thumb and index fingers in a fairly suggestive manner. "Are you taking stupid risks with Petra, Robert?" Status Round: 1Pieces Taken:1Total Points:1

It did not take too long for Clarice to get under his skin. When he realized - maybe ten seconds later - what she was asking, his eyes went wide. "God damn, Clarice. We're two moves in, and you're talking about my little man already." He plucked another easy, side piece out. "Woman's never heard of foreplay," He mumbled to himself, before waggling the piece at her. "Not that it's any of your business? But no, I ain't. I know what I'm doing in the bedroom, thanks." And the cheesy grin was back in full force. Status Round: 1 Pieces Taken: 2 Total Points: 2

She smiled warmly at him, "Honey, I wouldn't want you to get all premature... ly knocked out in Round One." But her expression grew grim at his overconfident reply. "Annnnd wow, just when my opinion of you couldn't drop any lower. Way to knock it out of the park, Robert ******** Morris." She quickly grabbed up another piece and tossed it onto the table, "It's a good thing female trainees get the shot before they wake up. But it's not 100% and wears off after about a year, so do Petra a favour and act like a halfway responsible adult. I mean, do you see any kids running around here, Robert? Ever wonder why?"Status Round: (current round number)Pieces Taken: 2Total Points: 2

The fact that Clarice did not approve of his.. antics really didn't matter much to Robert. Her distaste bounced off him, and he rolled his eyes before plucking out another piece. As he held it up triumphantly, the question she'd just asked finally sunk in, and the expression on his face visibly transformed. Gone was the smug smile, the mischievous eyes. He dropped the piece on the table, glaring at Clarice darkly. "The <********> are you saying, Clarice." He growled. He was a little angry that they had done something to Petra, but also unsurprised at it. It was the last bit that stuck with him, making his jaw work and his words come out cold and cautious. "Me and Pet, we're gonna get married. Ain't no reason why she can't have my kids." Except, deep down, the knot of dread finally started to build in him, as he waited to see if he was wrong about that. Status Round: 1 Pieces Taken: 3 Total Points: 3

"I'm saying that you don't want Petra to get pregnant. It's different for male hunters, you can go off island and spawn a hundred little b*****d Bobbies for all anyone cares. Female hunters? It's a ******** tragedy, Morris." Clarice pulled her piece easily and bounced it in her palm. "Just thought you should know." Status Round: (current round number)Pieces Taken: 3Total Points: 3

Robert's hand was clenching on his jacket, wrinkling the fabric within his fist. "I don't want no b*****d kids, lady." He muttered, though his voice cracked on the world 'want'. He took a deep, stabilizing breath, and reached out to slide another far-too-easy piece out. He was not taking chances when this topic was on the table - he could tell it was shaking him to the core, and they were only on Round 1. How was he supposed to make it through the whole game with this on his mind? "Don't you think Petra should have a say in this, Clarice?" He put the piece down, and his gaze leveled on her darkly. "It's one thing to tell me I shouldn't try to have a child with the woman I love. It's another thing entirely to tell that woman that she can't have kids with me." Clarice's expression was every so slightly pitying as she pulled a piece and dropped it on top of the others. Then he went and mentioned Petra having a say in this, and she could only sigh. He didn't get it. "I brought it up with you, because honestly? Of the two of you? She seems a bit more fragile and reclusive, for all the poker face she maintains. So it's better she hears it from you rather than me, wonderful as I am." The corner of her mouth quirked up a bit, "Look on the bright side, you could have H or Caelius explaining this. But here's the thing? It not a choice. Well it is a choice, but there would have to be something seriously wrong with you two to even try. I'm not talking about simple miscarriage here, Robert. I am talking about the fact that anything that comes out of Petra won't come out alive, but it will come back."Status Round: 1Pieces Taken: 4Total Points: 4

Robert had already bent in to try and snatch a piece while Clarice spoke. It was, perhaps, not the best idea, but he wasn't really expecting what Clarice had to say. Sterility, abortions, Robert had dug deep at the bottom of the barrel when he thought about how Deus were going to keep a woman from having a baby. But when he slid the piece out, and caught the rest of Clarice's explanation, the piece dropped and clattered against the tower, shaking it. Almost.. almost.. no, it settled back into place. But he didn't care. Robert's sharp tongue was silent, for once. His face was pale white, and he looked like he was going to be sick. Or cry. Or both. Round over. "Yeah, that's right, Robert. Now you really know what you're doing in the bedroom, big guy." She jabbed precisely at a piece, causing it to drop off the tower. "You can thank me later once you get over the fact that you can get married. You may even get a nice house one day and build yourself a sweet little white picket fence around it. But none of that will ever truly change what and where you are now." Despite the less than kind words, Clarice's voice wasn't mocking. For once. Relentlessly shoving this at him? Oh yes. Mocking? She'll get back to that once he puts his big girl panties back on. Status Round: 1Pieces Taken: 5Total Points: 5
