Mac had stormed away from the school auditorium and right to the Reaper Dorms. With each angry step brought clarification, and with every landmark passed his thoughts cleared. He had chucked his phone at Herryk in a fit of rage after sending a text he sent in the same fit, and damnit he was regreting it now. Really badly. He loved that phone, it had all the pictures he liked in it...and you know, his contact list. Hopefully he had remembered to back up the information recently, or he'd be ******** was an idiot. A really big one.
"BLOODY JACKIN' MARY!" He yelled to no one and every one at once. When he looked around next he realized he was in his room; he didn't know how he got here, or how long it took him TO get there, but there he was. He rummaged around his drawers and found what he was looking for; the previous model of his current phone. It was what he came to school with and so it managed to have some of his contacts there.
Including the most important one.Guilt consumed Mac enough to send the text, and the moment he did he regretted it. Wasn't he supposed to be making her hate him? This was perfect for that so why...was he apologizing? Despite the break and the raw skin he pinched the broken bridge of his nose, relishing in the pain it brought. It matched the pain in his heart, it reminded him that he deserved it. That it was all for her. It was just...what he had to do.
Pocketing his old phone, Mac left the Reaper dorms again, now on his way to the Maul to distract himself.

Lizzy had been stalking following caring about Mac; his confusion attack had been highly effective, causing her a lot of frustration as well as heartache whenever she tried to make sense of everything the reaper had been doing up to this point in time - including the most recent 'I'm sorry' text. Why would he apologize? He didn't care about her...
... Right?
These questions explained why the moment Mac appeared on the path headed towards the Maul from the Reaper Dorms, he would be tackled by a spider demoness bent on squeezing some answers out of that pretty face of his.
It wasn't until after the tackle that it occurred to her how she could have damaged that pretty face further, which resulted in her own face going red as she started muttering "Sorry sorry sorrry-"

Suddenly, pink. Everywhere.
Somehow, he wasn't sure on the details, but he managed to keep them both standing. He was trying to sort out what happened when he realized he was hearing a very familiar voice. Lizzy. He heard Lizzy. His grip tightened on the mysterious pink thing pressed up against him, and that was when he realized a couple other very important things; One, his hands were gripping someone's hips and two...t-two was...
Lizzy.
"Oh JACK!" He gasped out, releasing her as though burned, scrambling back a pace or two. No wonder he recognized the voice, that hair, her scent, the cool touch of her---
No! No no no no no.
"W-what are---" Watch Mac flail mentally as he tried to regain his composure.

Her face visibly fell as she shuffled her feet, awkwardly standing where Mac had left her, "Am I really that repulsive to you...?" She asked softly, lifting her head just enough to look at him; after all, he went ahead and kissed two other ghouls shortly after their break up! Sure, he had argued - yelled even - that Freya started it, and she was sure that Amphi said something about her initiating the kiss, but he had returned both of those kisses! If it was her, she would push the initiator away instead of taking it further!
Then again, that was her. Mac was not her.
"You said you kissed them back because they started the kiss," Her voice was still soft as she continued, taking a step forward towards the reaper, "Will you kiss me back if I start it?" Those weren't exactly the questions she had in mind when she took to following Mac, but for some reason, those were the first questions that came to mind.

"I...n-no it's..." Mac scrambled for words. All his previous cool he had while dealing with her was gone, all that was left was the crumbling shell of a man trying to grasp at straws to keep to the plan. With every step that lead her closer to him, Mac found himself taking an awkward step back; it wasn't a conscious move, he was likely unaware that he was even doing it.
"They did..." He insisted, though she'd given him no cause to doubt that his story was believed. By her, at least. He wanted to run. Why wasn't he running? Talking. He needed to do that too. Come on Mac, say something, say anything! Be mean to her, tell her you won't kiss her back, tell her you have no interest in Demons, just...anything!
"L-lizzy, Y-you--" That was where he lost his voice, unable to do much but stand and stare.

Everything played through her head at once - Mitsu's experience with Mac after the break up, Amphi's little confession, Herryk's fist to his face, the text apologizing to her - and now, Mac's expression. This wasn't the Mac that said those hurtful things to her that day, when he asked her for a break up. This wasn't the Mac she met at the beginning of the year, when he mistook her for Charlie and made her cry in the Maul.
Suddenly Lizzy felt like she had been a very bad friend and ghoulfriend; maybe all this time she hadn't really tried to know Mac more. She had assumed a lot of things about his personality at times, and she tried really hard to make her friends accept him because it was important to her that they liked her boilfriend, for his good and his bad... Maybe if she had really taken the time to accept his everything... She kept telling herself he didn't need to change, but maybe a part of her wanted him to be nicer and-
"Mac," She took the chance to walk up to him, so that they were almost touching, "I think you were lying to me, about not taking us seriously." You're a genius Lizzy! Yay for figuring out!
"I still can't figure out why," She grabbed him by the collar of his turtleneck, pulling him down with just enough force as she tiptoed to meet his eyes, "But despite your words, despite Amphi... I still think you're a good person... I still..." She closed her eyes and kissed him, careful to be gentle so as not to aggravate his injuries, her arms wrapping around his shoulders and behind his neck. It was a very Lizzy kiss.
She missed kissing him so much.

Suddenly, Mac couldn't back away any more. She had cornered him out in the open, and all he could do was stare down at her, looking like he was going to bolt at any moment. That exterior started to melt away by the mere proximity of the ghoul; everything about her was stripping him of everything he resolved to do, and for a few moments all he could think of was...her. How much he missed seeing her face, those little spikes she had on her head...
Then she had to go and call him out on what he'd done; now all he could think about was guilt. Well, guilt, and the way her hand curled into his turtleneck, or the jolt that brought him slouching closer to her. Why did she still think that way? Why...
"I don't..." He tried to get out before her lips silenced his. His hands were in fists at his sides, his entire body trying to resist her and what she was doing to him. Her arms went around his shoulders and he found his hands relaxing, slowly reaching out to rest against her hips; he couldn't help it, it just...felt like the right thing to do.
Black eyes slowly closed and he gave in, returning her kiss briefly. When he pulled away it was slight and only long enough to readjust to save himself some pain before he kissed her again, the grip on her hips tightening just enough to pull her slightly closer.
Damnit, Lizzy! Why did you have to be so...so...

... Persistent? It's one of her more annoying traits.
When nothing happened, she was frightened that he wasn't going to return the kiss, which would just prove her wrong for saying that he had lied, and prove her right about Mac finding her repulsive. That moment lasted for what felt like an eternity, as she just waited, her lips pressed against his... When he returned the kiss, she wriggled happily on the spot, shivering and leaning towards him when she felt his hands on her hips.
She seemed like she was about to deepen the kiss, her tongue brushing oh so gently against Mac's lips when she realized that they were in a public place... And while the whole school seemed to be busy with either the play or the celebration and sales going on in the nearby Maul, if anyone saw them kissing here, she would be forever ashamed. And embarrassed. And would try to wrap herself up in a cocoon for so long that she would probably develop butt wings in time for the year 3 examinations.
"M-Mac!" She gasped, pulling away, her eyes wide and her face completely red. Her voice dropped to a harsh whisper as she looked around frantically, relieved that the coast was clear, "We're in a public place!" She kept her arms around his shoulder and her face close to his, however, almost afraid that he would bolt the moment she let go... After all, she still had a couple of unanswered questions.
"Mac Leander Puppy," She used it like it was his real, full name, her tone almost accusing as she frowned, "You've been reported to be a serial kisser. What do you have to say for yourself?" In all seriousness... She was serious.

Lizzy pulled away and Mac's brow knit together for a moment, producing a rather breathy sigh and lowering his head. Yup. Still Lizzy.
"You should have thought'a that before you kissed me." The Reaper reminded her, however unhappy he sounded. The grip on her hips tightened just slightly before releasing her entirely, though it seemed she wasn't going to be letting him go any time soon. That nickname again...he couldn't help but sink lower into that little pool of guilty depression as she resorted to doing what she did best; hiding something serious behind words that sounded joking. He should...probably move away from her. There would be no running, but it would probably be best if there was distance between them, right? It worked in theory, but in reality...he didn't want to remove those slender arms.
"Freya was...an accident, followed by a very angry mistake." At least he was willing to admit that; she was unlikely to bash his nose in and besides, he was still sporting Herryk's opinion on the matter. "And Amphi..." The words trailed off with a sigh, his expression darkening with his troubled thoughts and his hands, which had been merely resting at his side, moved to bury into his jacket pockets.
"I wanted to get over you."

"I was trying to make a point," She huffed; now that she was so close to his face, she couldn't help noticing every bruise, the way his healing nose was colored black and blue... She tiptoed a little more, just to plant a gentle kiss on the tip of that nose, "A very angry mistake... How would you feel if someone kissed your ghoulfriend in a fit of anger?"
Oh right, ghoulfriend. They were still... Her chest started to ache as she quickly released Mac, her hands moving to rest on her hips, before realizing that she might look intimidating and shifting so that they were linked behind her.
She was suddenly very aware of their new status as... What were they anyway?
"As your friend, I advise you to go apologize to Herryk and Freya, since it was partially your fault that it escalated to him punching your face," She made sure to emphasize on 'friend', even nodding once despite how sad she was to have to call herself that, "As for Amphi..." The ache in her chest heightened and she inhaled sharply, trying to ignore it when he gave her his reason, "She's serious about you... If you can't tell. She came to talk to me, and... She really likes you, Mac, and she's so honest and sweet! I could tell that she was genuine in wanting to be friends with me, and if you're not serious about her... If you're leading her on trying to 'get over me'..."
She frowned, pausing for dramatic effect since this was Lizzy, "I want you to stop it right now. You don't have the right to run around leaving scars. You took her first kiss." Be her boilfriend.

However gentle that kiss was, it still made him flinch; that was still tender, but...he deserved the pain, he always deserved it. Her question wasn't answered, but he knew he'd likely react the same way that Herryk did; he actually didn't fault the Draugr for his actions, as violent as they were Mac knew he was well within his rights to be angry...he just really, really needed to learn to shut up, that was all.
"I only did it because she was throwing the blame away from herself. She kissed me! I was being good, I don't go after taken ghouls, I don't know how it happened, but she kissed me...and then pretended she didn't do it, that it was all my fault, that..." He paused with a flinch, shaking his head slowly. "Well anyway, she was hellbent on making it my fault, so I made it my fault." Stupid idea, but he couldn't exactly take it back now. "I was going to apologize, I got Freya's number from Hel...but then Herryk...." Herryk had to go and tell Lizzy, and Lizzy had to give him that look, and then all hell broke loose. As the conversation shifted towards Amphi, Lizzy was already telling him everything he knew, and his hands fidgeted as she spoke, hidden by his pockets.
"I know, Lizzy. I know---" He paused at her last words, then frowned. "I didn't take it!" He all but growled, easily switching to the defensive. She gave it to him! All he did was lean in closer, she didn't have to kiss him! It looked like he had more to say but he grit his teeth, letting himself seethe for a moment. The ghouls were too similar, even he knew this was a huge mistake...but it was because they were similar he felt too guilty to confront the ghoul about it.
In his pockets his hands balled up until fists and then relaxed, his posture suddenly deflating as he looked away from her. While he didn't say a word and try as he might to steel his expression, he couldn't completely hide his guilt or his pain.

"Well, as long as you know what you did wrong..." She trailed off with a slight frown, sensing both his irritation and general Mac-ness; she didn't mean to upset him, but she just needed to get all of that off her chest! However, she had to admit that being able to talk to Mac instead of trying to hide whenever he was nearby made her happy, despite their current topic of discussion.
"Okay, even if she did give it to you, what are your plans?" She was curious, not only for Amphi's sake but that selfish part of her wanted to know as well... Wanted to know if Mac intended to continue his 'thing' with the mermaid, whatever it was, "I mean... You have all the right to... Date her, if you like..." She sounded hesitant there, and she cleared her throat, "Since we're just friends now."
... Right?
Almost as hesitantly, she raised a hand and placed it on his arm, giving it a pat before she slid it down his arm into his pocket to take his hand. Taking it in her own, she gave his hand a squeeze and offered him a smile, trying to stop adding to his guilt, "We don't have to talk about this right now though... We could go to the Maul? Celebrate us talking again?"

Mac honestly had no intention of answering her question.
"What do you care what my plans are?" He deflected it back to her, at least having the courtesy to look back down at her instead of away. Then uh...what was she doing? Black eyes went wide as he realized she was after his hand, and even worse when she insisted on holding it. "What...Why, Lizzy?" Apparently that was the best he could do. That and give her hand a squeeze, gripping and not intending on letting go...for now.

"Why wouldn't I care?" She pouted, trying her best not to let her anxiety show; Mac would know what to do! He would do something and it's not for her to decide for him...
The hand holding did not seem to phrase her, although she had decided that Mac and her were now friends; she held hands with Mot all the time, after all! And before that, she held Mac/Puppy's arm whenever they went out; his warmth was nice, but right now, the assurance that he still cared about her... Made her really happy, putting a smile on her face.
"What do you mean by why?" She asked before tugging him gently down the path, heading towards the Maul.

Mac let himself be lead, but that didn't mean he was going to make it easy on her. His feet felt like lead and every step he took was with an awkward thud.
"Just...why." He demanded, really not sure how else to explain it. The Reaper frowned at her, and soon stopped, gripping her hand to pull her back. If she wasn't going to listen to reason, he was...going to consider making her. "You think I lied to you...and your reaction is to kiss me, scold me and drag me to the maul? When I saw you last you were crying. H--someone told me you cried a lot." Mac's voice was strained, trying to not let the pain of the thought into his voice.
"So...Why are you doing this? Why aren't you demanding the truth, why aren't you getting mad at me? Why are you pretending like nothing happened?"
