Lark didn't stop walking until they were a safe distance away from the theater. She wasn't sure exactly what had happened, but things had gotten real ugly real quick. When the big boil had started screeching about Freya, Lark had gotten the jack out of there.
That must be Herryk.
And he was huge.
"Oh jack, Ket," she huffed, slightly out of breath. "I finally figured it all out." She pointed a finger back towards the theater, "D'ya know who that big bloke was, mate?"
Ben slowly plodded up, his eyes wide. "What'n bloody jack was goin' on in there?!"

Kettil was just as much out of breath due to the sudden and quick departure out of the play his body bent over a bit as he sought ease his breathing meanwhile Endzela pecked at bits of Lark's clothing, "Holding on a bit tight, Love," a gentle reminder that Lark was still holding precious cargo.
The boil on the other hand tilted his head to the side as he straightened up his mind doing a bit of a rewind on the events from prior before he seemed to brighten a bit, "Oh! That's Freya's big lug? Huh. I expected him to be a bit ... a lot less I dunno."
It wasn't the size that got him he just was surprised to see him so violent for some reason.
"Huh. You alright Lar? How about you Ben? Endy?" Kettil was making sure no one got hurt.
Endy blinked over at Kettil, "I am fine, just a bit ruffled."

Lark immediately sat on the ground, shaking her head with a soft chuckle.
"Aye, m'fine. Jest.. what would happen if'e found out I was the one what gave Freya that shiner?" The chuckle gave way to a nervous giggle as Lark set Endzela on the grass next to her. Lark then swooped her hat from her head and fell back, prone on the ground, with a heavy sigh.
Where she promptly burst into laughter.
Ben rolled his eyes and hopped a bit closer to Lark. "That's Freya's boil? Aww, fer Jack's sake, Lark."
Lark was too busy giggling madly to talk.

Kettil seemed thoughtful for a moment as he moved to sit near where Lark was now prone on the ground, "Hmm. I dunno. I doubt he's the type of boil to hit a ghoul? Maybe he is and I just don't know it."
It was the rare showing that Kettil was in fact very much aware of Lark's gender.
Endzela waddled her way over toward Kettil where she climbed her way up to his knee with claw and beak before she settled there staring between Lark and Kettil, "We never said our companions picked wise fights," she teased lightly as she then began to preen herself.
"I ain't fightin' a dang thing. I'd gladly spar with that brute, though." Kettil said thoughtfully.

Lark's peals of laughter settled into intermittent snorts as she peered at Kettil. Bloody hell it was so good to see him again. They'd been through so much together, grown together, laughed together, fought together. Fought against one another, too. Yet despite their disagreements, Lark knew that Kettil was the one person that she would willingly give her life for.
No questions asked.
"He'd beat y'inta mush, Owlboy," Lark bantered, lifting up to rest on her elbows. Her feet crossed at the ankle. Comfortable now, Lark grinned at Kettil.
"If we stay, yer gonna need t'go shoppin', yeah?" She turned her attention from her best friend to her familiar, who had promptly started grazing once it was obvious that Lark had gone berko with the giggles. "I ain't been t'town quite yet. Mebbe we could go t'gether?"

He reached over and poked her forehead, "He'd have to be able to see me first," he said mischievously, "I doubt he can see ground level anymore with as big as he is." Over all he wasn't really concerned about whether or not he'd be a greasy smear under the foot of the very large Herryk.
The boil gave a small nod, "Yeah, I didn't really pack a lot and I could ask for stuff to get sent to me from home but that'd be a pain in the neck, yeah?" He chuckled a bit as he reached over to poke at Lark's side a bit. "Hmmm, going into town? With you? Well I guess. If I have to."
By if he had to he gladly would.

Lark hummed softly as she watched Kettil, a huge smile on her lips.
"Wish I'da known y'were comin'," she grumbled lightheartedly. "S'been busy 'round here what with the school might be closin' and them weird hunters." She let her head fall back as she closed her eyes. It was a little chilly out but not too bad -- in fact, though Lark was fond of the warmer weather, there was something to be said for cooler temperatures.
"Ain't been checkin' m'groanspring like I should, I guess, though... y'shoulda called me, Ket." She narrowed her eyes at him. "I shoulda been there t'meetcha. Me." It was becoming apparent that things were becoming a little clearer for the reaper ghoul. She wasn't going to let it ruin their reunion, but she wasn't going to be afraid to let him know that it stung a little.
Okay, it stung a lot that she wasn't the one that had greeted him first upon his arrival to the school.

Kettil smiled a bit and just listened as she talked and he could hear the hurt in her voice and by all rights he'd have felt the same if it was the other way around ... Kettil couldn't find a reason or way to laugh it off and instead he nudged Endy to the ground gently so he could shift his body to where he laid down on the ground and his head rested against his stomach with him gazing skyward.
"Lar. I'm sorry, I really am. I'll make it up to you, I swear," he said quietly after he'd settled down. Kettil frowned a little bit as he stared up at the sky, "I just ... I wanted to surprise ya, y'know? Surprise! I guess I wasn't thinkin' at all."
He really was a moron sometimes.
Endy meanwhile waddled her way over to Ben to settle near him.

Lark grunted quietly, remaining silent for the time being. It wasn't that she wanted him to grovel; they were close enough friends that sometimes no conversation was needed. She did tug on one of his dreadlocks again, though, just to let him know that she wasn't entirely furious at him.
"Yer awright," she fussed, putting her weight on one elbow so she could take her hat off. She tossed it near Ben before returning to her previous position. "M'glad yer here, Ket. Can't even tell y'how glad."
It was ... unsettling how nice this felt. Lark had figured that the distance between them, even for so short a time, would have lessened their strong bond of friendship. It hadn't. Nor had it lessened the emotions that she did her very best to keep hidden and tucked safely away.
Lark cleared her throat.

"Yeah? Well if you're sure..." He didn't need her to beat him up emotionally or otherwise he was currently doing it to himself now that she'd pretty much let on how she felt about the entire ordeal. Kettil smiled lightly, though. "I'm glad I'm here, too. I was miserable without you nearby giving me s**t."
It felt nice to simply be here with her again with his head resting against her stomach. Sure he wanted to actually watch the play and see how it would end up but ...this was way better. Just him and Lark reconnecting again.
"Lar? When we go shoppin' together...wanna go get a bite t'eat too?" Kettil asked curiously, "y'know just make a whole day of it together."

Lark, surprisingly enough (or maybe not), had been about to admit that she was feeling peckish. The fact that Kettil suggested lunch before she'd even had a chance to admit that she was ravenous just solidified in her mind that they were connected on some eerie level.
It didn't bother her in the least.
"Aye," she chuckled with a nod of her head. "Was jest gonna suggest it. If ye like, we could head over whenever y'want to, Owlboy." Lark continued fussing with his hair. She'd always been a fan of it.

He smiled a bit at her words, "Hmmm," Kettil was pretty comfortable right now but he was also hungry. This was quite the dilemma he had going. "What no more play?" he chuckled a bit and shrugged his shoulders thoughtfully.
Kettil was also hungry admittedly but he also didn't want to get up. He found his mind kind of meandering about in a vicious cycle now, "Plus we'd have to get up," he actually pouted at this.
She was playing with his hair. They were together. Their familiars where nearby.
....His stomach grumbled showing him which was the most urgent thing to attend to.
"Augh, traitor." He groaned softly.

Lark's own stomach echoed the sound that Kettil's made almost as if they were singing some sort of hungry duet. Scooting up further so that Kettil's head moved from her stomach to her lap, Lark ran her finger down his nose before flicking the tip of it. "C'mon, Owlboy," she chuckled. "We can head t'the maul, then? My treat."
Of course, she was pinned beneath his head so movement at the current moment wasn't an option. Lark just waited patiently, content to stare down at him for the time being.
Ben leaned forward and lipped at one of the feathers in Kettil's hair. "Lark ain't eat'n all day," he groused lightly, urging Kettil to sit up. "She already looks like she gonna float away in th'breeze."

"You really know how to treat a boil," he laughed at her offer after she had flicked his nose. Oh hey head on her lap even better. Then he felt Ben fussing at one of his feathers and then he let out a deep sigh as he reached up and flicked at a bit of her bangs, "Oh Lar. For a ghoul that enjoys cooking you certainly don't do enough eating."
Finally he moved to sit up with a small sigh.
Endzela stretched out her wings and gave a small chuckle, "And yet~ she always beats you in wrestling."
"Hey, not always! Just ... a lot of the time." Kettil mumbled with a bit of a sheepish grin as he started to get to his feet and once up he offered a hand down to Lark.

Ben snickered quietly at Endzela's little comment. "Ach, Endy-mine. Ol' Ben has missed y'so." His words were honest -- he was very fond of the owl.
"Tch, Ket, now don't start naggin' me. Y'start remindin' me of yer mum." She took his hand and lurched to her feet before reaching over to pick her hat up from the ground. It was a good thing she wasn't self-conscious about her very slender physique. No, the only thing that Lark was self-conscious about was the fact that she was the only reaper in her family that wasn't a grim -- and when she was with Kettil, even that disappeared.
"Let's go, then," she grunted, clapping her hat on her head and tugging it down firmly. "Y'keep naggin' at me I'm never gonna cook y'dinner, Owlboy."
