Kettil wasn't a morning person. At all. He didn't like being up during the morning hours it felt weird and uncomfortable for him but still he slept early got up early and was now roaming the Reaper dorms for a certain room. He started from top until he got to the bottom sometime in the afternoon and for now was roaming about in the basement level of the dorms where he was staring at the doors thoughtfully while Endzela perched on his shoulder.
"This is silly, Kettil. You shouldn't stalk someone like this just because you're feeling a little possessive of your best friend," Endzela huffed a bit in a low tone.
The boil raised an eyebrow, "It isn't stalking. I mean c'mon, we need to make sure he isn't a complete a** or something."
The Owl seemed unconvinced but became silent for the time being. As he got toward the end he noted a door opened and a ghoul left. He said and did nothing to the ghoul and only noted that she seemed out of place in the Reaper dorms and then recalled Roch's little speech at the play and...
..Well while it didn't paint the most flattering image it was certainly a good clue, right?
While there was an air of uncertainty about whether or not everyone'd still be at the school for much longer Kettil still felt compelled to meet the boil that Lark had claimed to be a friend while she was at school. The boil wandered up to the door hesitated for a brief second before he reached up and knocked.

The door opened to a grinning Roch. "I told you I'd walk you back to your do--" Then he stopped, raising an eyebrow at the new reaper and looking a bit blank for a moment. Whoooo... He cocked his head slightly, his eyes narrowing ever so briefly. "Wait," he said abruptly, "Lark's pal, right? Or are you someone else?"
He didn't invite him in. What with all the hunter problems he'd rather not have a prospective enemy in his room.

Kettil tilted his head to the side now seeing Roch a bit more up close he wasn't sure what to make of him still and to be honest he was instantly regretting not having a plan for what would happen after this. The Muut paused a little as he glanced over at Endzela who was just watching the scene unfold intently and he was certain that if she had any she'd probably be eating popcorn or something similar.
Ugh.
"Yeah. I'm Lark's friend," he said after a couple of awkward moments of silence and uncertainty he moved to take off a glove and then offered over a hand for a firm handshake, "I just wanted to meet you myself and...Thank you for being so kind to her. The name is Kettil," The words were sincere at least.

"Yeah, I think I saw you after the play," Roch said, relaxing and shaking the hand offered. "C'mon in," he said, moving out of the way to show his rather empty room. The big papasan wrought iron couch looked to be his bed, the desk and chair next to it looked as if it'd come with the room, as did the skelevision in front of it. There was a kitchen in the back, as well, but the only strange thing was the room built into the corner, with the door still open.
Roch headed inside and went to the room in the corner. "Sorry, I gotta clean some stuff up real quick," he called over his shoulder. "If you want to talk you can come in here for a bit while I do," he added.
There were cups and plates to pick up from the little party he'd just had.

"Hah. I saw you during it," the hands shook and then he let go. When invited in Kettil wandered in with no hesitation now. Things seemed to be going smoothly at the moment and he hoped it would continue to do so otherwise he wasn't sure he could contain his temper at the moment. Kettil couldn't help but feel a little highly strung right now considering everything that had happened as of late.
He was polite enough to close the door after himself.
Endzela looked around a bit, "He keeps his room cleaner than you do most of the time," she commented in a chipper tone.
Kettil shot his Owl a bit of a look before he spoke to Roch, "It's cool, I can wait until you're done picking up."

"It might take a bit," Roch said. "There was some popcorn throwing going on," he drawled with amusement. "But she totally deserved it--" He crouched down, revealing a piece of popcorn that had somehow gotten stuck in his mohawk as he started to pick up the pieces. "Lark," he said as he cleaned. "How she doin? I've been a bit busy to check up on her lately," he added guiltily.
He glanced back at the other reaper, still crouching in the middle of his karaoke booth. "She was jackin' terrified after... well, she probably didn't tell you yet, has she?"

"Geeze. You invite ghouls in and throw popcorn at them? You got interesting habits, I'll give you that," Kettil replied at Roch with what almost sounded like a teasing tone. The boil paused when the subject went on to Lark. There was an interesting mix of emotions that went through him but still he smiled wide and he nodded a bit, "She's fine, right as rain as far as I know. I think she's just happy I'm here at the moment. It'll wear off when I do something dumb and she gets pissed."
As it always happens.
The humor faded a bit as he nodded a bit, "She told me a bit about it messenger," Kettil replied, "you were there for her when I couldn't be right?"

Roch was silent for a moment as he kept picking up pieces. "Lark may come off as tough," he said with a slight pull at the corner of his lips, "But she's just a tomboy. My best friend's a tomboy too." He finished cleaning and tossed the stuff into the trash in the corner, standing and looking at the other boil.
"She'll recover. We all do. Except for you, maybe. It was nice meetin' ya, I'll be sure to come to your wake," he said cheerfully, reaching out and clapping the other reaper on the shoulder. "Hell, I'll even play the funeral march! I'm sure I can learn it in time."

Kettil shrugged a bit, "She's tough just...y'know she wasn't prepared to have that particular event to go down so it messed with her pretty bad," the boil reached up and pet at his familiar who had fallen silent for the time being. "Lar'll bounce back stronger than ever."
The Muut smirked a bit, "Yeah, I am sure you'd like that but I am afraid that I gotta tell ya that...I don't plan on going down without a fight or even at all." He didn't object to being clapped on the shoulder he took the ordeal in good humor.
"'Sides, I made it this far. I am sure I could go even farther." He reached up and pet at Endzela's feathery crest. He had his Owl to protect and also Lark, he wouldn't do anything to jeopardize either of them.

"Oh, I ain't talkin' about the hunters, man!" Roch said. "I'm talkin' about Herryk. Lark told me about you and Freya, you, my friend, are the poorest sap I ever met, and I won't even lie about it. Herryk jackin' HATES me, just for looking at her a** one day when it was practically in my face. And last I heard, he's a year two. We hit harder. And considering the b***h of a black eye he gave me when he was still a year one... well, then. Do you like classical style or something a bit more modern?"

Kettil was fine for the time being. Even a bit happy.
Then...
...Well to say that his insides were lit on fire rather suddenly would probably be a bit of an understatement and his expression...Didn't change. It was the face of a grinning happy fool.
"Yeah. Well it isn't like I'm looking at her a**. I'm not exactly chasing Freya either. She's with Herryk and that's fine, as long as she's happy," he laughed a bit though there was no happiness in the laughter. The amusement was leeched out of him by the sudden turn of conversation to the one that dealt with his current romantic entanglements.
He shrugged a bit, "I like modern more but y'know I don't turn down other styles."

"I'll remember that," Roch promised, letting the subject drop now that he'd said what he wanted to. Kettil would quickly learn that Roch tended to go straight for the subject at hand. "And I wasn't the one throwing popcorn," he added with a grin. "But she totally deserved that song for hers."
He headed into his room again, going to the fridge and peering inside for a moment. Then he checked the freezer. Then he sighed and closed them both. "You been to town yet?" he asked as he headed for the door. "Cuz I gotta go see a lady about some food."
He'd found a soft touch in his granddad's ghoulfriend. She liked to pretend she was his grandmother or mom or something. He didn't care as long as she provided food! "Or a man about a job," he added thoughtfully.

Admirably so Kettil managed to tamp down his temper until it was just a nice little pile of embers for the time being now that the subject was dropped for the time being. It wasn't like he didn't want to talk about it to someone that might give insight but the truth was Roch was still somewhat of a stranger to him. Someone that wasn't close enough for Kettil to sit and talk things out with that was currently going on with.
"Oh I see. Still a weird fetish," he said on the topic of popcorn, "what was the song?"
When subject moved on to the topic of town, food, and employment he seemed thoughtful before he shifted a shoulder, "I been out and about a bit but no where in particular. Why? You invitin' me to tag a long or somethin'?"

"Don't see why not," Roch said with a shrug. "But hell, I bet he's opened the casino, so it might be a bit much to dump on a new guy," he added, frowning slightly. "But if you want to grill me on my intentions towards your best friend or something, now's the time to do it," he finished, grabbing a strange coat from the wall and slipping it on. The coat had sleeves, but it looked as if the area over his tattoo had been cut and sewn up so the arm was bare there.
There was probably an explanation for that, but he didn't offer one. He grabbed his backpack as well, slinging it over his coat and heading out the door.

Endzela and Kettil exchanged a bit of a glance before the boil nodded lightly, "Alright then," but then froze a bit when Roch pretty much asked for the third degree from him and there was a bit of a thought process that went rocketing about in the Muut's head that pretty much ended with an explosion of scenarios and most of them ended up with Roch getting some form of a black eye depending on the questions and answers.
Seeming to sense something in her companion Endzela reached her wing and brushed it against the side of his face to throw him out of his trance.
Kettil blinked a bit and cleared his throat, "Well...I can just hope..It isn't anything to hurt her is it? Cause if you hurt her I swear to Jack I'll hunt you down...I don't care how much stronger you are."
The threat wasn't thinly veiled it was very much out there and laden with intention that would probably lead to follow through if the events played out to where Lark was hurt in some manner. Kettil was fiercely loyal to Lark and it was showing through.
