First off, my apologies for not being as active as I could. Things have been a bit stressful around here. But I am hoping to make this a regular (read: roughly weekly) posty place for myself to show off what I've been doing, and hopefully get encouragement to not give up. So then! Current Project(s): "Woodland Enchantress" by Dimensions28 September 2014Oh holy moly, it's been a while! I've done a bit more; I stopped for a while again to make a present for someone special, who ended up being a coward and just cutting off all contact, so that project's been shelved for the forseeable future. 24 March 2014Just as I suspected, I had very little time to work on anything not related to school for the past 5 or 6 weeks...But I did make progress - I've started on the background! About 1/6 of the picture is solidly stitched at this point. Looking forward to my break, so I can put in some more work. 9 Feb 2014Hey, look, she's not bald anymore! And she has the beginnings of a staff! 2 Feb 2014Yay! A relatively timely update! My current class has been pretty easy, so I've been able to get quite a bit done; it's actually a person now! An admittedly mostly bald person, but still, it's progress! 5 Jan 2014Happy New Year everyone! Here's to another great year of whatever your chosen style(s) of crafting may be! One of my resolutions this year is to keep a better record of my progress, and what better place than here? So, here's the first update of the year from me. Photo first: And here's a reminder of what this looked like the last time I posted an update for it in September of 2012: As you can see, I've made quite a bit of progress: finished the skirt and the bodice, and I've started on the first sleeve. Admittedly, the break from school has been responsible for a good deal of it, but class starts again today, so work may slow down quite a bit. Previous Projects:Butterfly Welcome July 2013-Dec 2013 (Christmas gift for my sister) Butterfly Afghan Oct 2012-July 2013 (Just-because gift for my sister) Butterfly Close-Up 1Butterfly Close-Up 2Butterfly Close-Up 3Whisper of God - Jul/Aug 2012 (Birthday present for aunt) Wedding Snow Globe (Bent Creek) - Jun 2012 (Wedding present for cousin) I Love You Dad (Bent Creek) - Jun 2012 (Birthday/Father's Day present) Tinkerbell (Disney Dreams Collection) - Mar/Apr 2012 Noah's Ark quilt - Oct 2010-Sep 2011 (1st birthday present for second cousin)

Sugar-Coated Accident Makes me smile. It really does. Normally, I would take this off the hoop for photos, but this fabric is...difficult to get back on, to say the least. Again, apologies. Very, very pretty! Have you ever heard of a scroll frame? You can use them rather than a hoop. I've had mine forever, and love it! The one I have lets you attach the top & bottom of your project fabric onto rods, then there are 3 different size side pieces (Short-about 4-5" long, Medium-about 6-8" long, & Long-about 12" long)- Screw pieces on the ends of the rods keep the tension right. Roll the fabric onto one of the rods, and work on the piece in the open area. When you need to, you simply roll the work up (or down) to get to the next part of the fabric.

Yes; unfortunately, most of them are out of my price range. I bought a cheap one, but it fell apart continually, and I had the same problem with the fabric. It's just so stiff! But I am hoping to get this little stand thing for Christmas.

The scroll things are pretty expensive, but you could probably make one yourself using dowels & 1x2 boards cut to size & sanded well...hmmm....

I don't know how much I'm allowed to spend on myself this year, so I'll see. That would end up being more expensive, I think. xD Ohmy, have you got an idea?

And, if I can figure it out, I'll post how-to directions here, so anyone who wants to can make the frame.
