Welcome to my Quest Thread! --- insert amazing banner here, until then, enjoy Raptor art! --- Hello there everyone, my name is Biki!
To be honest I have never known Gaia without the Lab and I have
repeatedly tried to become a part of this amazing shop, however
every time I have let my nerves get the best of me. Yet over the
last couple of years I have required myself numerous role-play
required pets and am now a role-play manager in another shop.
This has really helped me build up my courage, I have always
loved the Lab and would really like the chance to role-play in
this amazing community. I am sticking around this time, you
guys will just have to put up with my derps until I remember
everything. I am a little slow at the best of times so, prepare
for some bluppers, though that's what quest threads are for.
Anyway I hope you enjoy my quest, any constructive criticism
(or well wishing) is more than welcome!

___________________________________________________ Fel Essence Eternal HeartbeatThe heart is a myogenic muscular organ found in all animals with a circulatory system, this is responsible for pumping blood throughout the blood vessels by repeated, rhythmic contractions. When the heart stops so usually does life. However this heart still beats, long after the owner has decayed and withered away. Some say that love is eternal, maybe they were onto something... Soul  Common Vampire BatVampire bats are bats whose food source is blood, this is a dietary trait called hematophagy. Unlike fruit-eating bats, the vampire bat has a short, conical muzzle. It also lacks a nose leaf, instead having naked pads with U-shaped grooves at the tip. The common vampire bat also has specialized thermoreceptors on its nose, which aids the animal in locating areas where the blood flows close to the skin of its prey. A nucleus has been found in the brain of vampire bats that has a similar position and similar histology to the infrared receptor of infrared-sensing snakes. Vampire bats generally have small ears and a short tail . Their front teeth are specialized for cutting and their back teeth are much smaller than in other bats. The inferior colliculus, part of the bat's brain that processes sound, is well adapted to detecting the regular breathing sounds of sleeping animals that serve as their main food source. While other bats have almost lost the ability to maneuver on land, Vampire bats can also run by using a unique bounding gait, in which the forelimbs instead of the hindlimbs are recruited for force production as the wings are much more powerful than the legs. This ability to run seems to have evolved independently within the bat lineage. Vampire bats tend to live in colonies in almost completely dark places, such as caves, old wells, hollow trees, and buildings. The basic social structure of roosting bats is made of harems which are composed of females and their offspring and a few adult males, known as "resident males" and a separate group of males, known as "non-resident males". Resident males mate with the females in their harems, however it is common for outside males to copulate with the females. Female offspring usually remain in their natal groups unless their mothers die or move. Male offspring tend to live in their natal groups until they are about two years old, sometimes being forcefully expelled by the resident adult males. Vampire bats are believed to be the only species of bats in the world to "adopt" another young bat if something happens to the bat's mother. Vampire bats also share a strong family bond with members of the colony, which is believed to be why they are the only bats to take up this adoption characteristic. Another unique adaptation of vampire bats is the sharing of food. A vampire bat can only survive about two days without a meal of blood, yet they cannot be guaranteed of finding food every night. This poses a problem, so when a bat fails to find food it will often "beg" another bat for food. The "host" bat may regurgitate a small amount of blood to sustain the other member of the colony. Vampire bats hunt only when it is fully dark. Like fruit-eating bats, and unlike insectivorous and fish-eating bats, they emit only low-energy sound pulses. Vampire bats are very agile and a recent study found that common vampire bats can, in addition to walk, run at speeds of up to 7.9 km per hour (4.9 miles per hour). They locate a suitable place to bite using their infrared sensors. They then create a small incision with their teeth and lap up blood from the wound. If there is fur on the skin of the host, the common vampire bat uses its canine and cheek teeth like a barber's blades to shave away the hairs. The bat's razor-sharp upper incisor teeth then make a 7mm long and 8mm deep cut. The upper incisors lack enamel, which keeps them permanently razor sharp. The bat’s saliva, which is injected into the victim, has a key function in feeding from the wound. The saliva contains several compounds that prolong bleeding, such as anticoagulants that inhibit blood clotting, and compounds that prevent the constriction of blood vessels near the wound. The vampire bat is often used in movies and books about vampires. Fictional vampires also consume blood, usually in order to survive. Comparable to the actual vampire bat, the most common feeding method is piercing a hole in the victim's neck with sharp fangs and sucking blood from the pierced area. Fictional vampires are also commonly nocturnal, and rarely come out during the day, similar to vampire bats. Other attributes of fictional vampires include, but are not restricted to, the ability to transform into a vampire bat and animal-like senses of sight and hearing. In several vampire horror films a vampire bat arrives through the victim's window then magically transforms into the fictional mythological creature.

Soul : Vampire Bat.
Essence : Eternal Heartbeat.
Appearance : Totally and completely up to the artist, seriously, go nuts! Though if I could request anything... I want her to have a bat like nose. In my mind Ash is not a pretty girl and that in itself is part of her character. The more creature like the better in my opinion, unnatural skin-tone, sharp nails, the works.

Food Blood - Asha's main food source runs through the veins of every living creature on the planet, which makes it ironic that she is always so damn hungry. To Asha the thought of.... sucking on someone.... is just. No. She finds humans strange, especially because of the fact some humans might find her feeding ritual ironic, she did some research on bloodsuckers before and came across fanfiction that will haunt her dreams forever. Let's not even mention the fact the sight of the stuff generally makes her want to faint. Her father often offers her his own arm but no matter how hard she tries she just can not bring herself to do it. Eating disorder much? As a result Asha is a malnourished, sickly, weedy little girl who is only able to feed on rare occasions were she is too hungry to care about what her conscience says.
Powers
{ Heartbeat } Asha can amplify the sound of her own heartbeat trough her radar, admitting a very loud 'thud-thud-thud' which she uses to disorientate people when she needs to make a get away.
{ Sound Waves } Asha is not too great at judging distance, to aid her blindness she is able to admit high pitched sound waves that only she can hear. Much like a bats radar these bounce off of objects and return to her ears, giving her a clearer image of the world around her. This works alongside her infared vision, painting a clear picture of the world around her and enabling her to live life as any other ravean.
{ Special Saliva } Asha has a special bacteria in her mouth that can stop blood from clotting, this way she can feed from people through the tiniest of incisions. It also contains some what of a numbing agent which means she can theoretically feed from someone's sleeping frame without then realizing she is doing so, well until they find the teeth-marks in the morning.
Extra Notes
{ Nocturnal } Asha's biologic clock is a little off tick. She finds it almost impossible to stay awake during the day and when she does find herself outside the sunlight usually makes her eyes hurt after a while because it mess's up her infrared vision. She is a night owl and as such defiantly prefers winter over every other season.

Shortened Versions Appearance : Raptor has a face that you are not likely to forget. His most memorable features are his eyes, they are a very intense yellow and are made more vibrant thanks to the black eye-liner like tattoo's around them. He has very sharp features, from his long pointy nose, to his sharp jawline and his elvish like ears, he also has numerous piercings. His face is then framed by his thick purple hair which fringe is often brushed to the side. Last but not least he does have a black scaled tail that trails on the floor slightly as he walks.
Personality : Raptor is the kind of guy who wastes several hours of his day on video games and movies. He also has a very active and creative imagination, anything extraordinary or unusual automatically captures his interest which is what first drew him to the Lab and Dr Kyou's research. He admittedly finds it much easier to read code and circuits than people. As a child he used to take things apart and put them back together to see how they work. Personalities on the other hand are always changing and never easy to predict and fully understand. After all there is no equation you can follow which explains how someone is feeling. This however does not stop him from trying. He is determined to master the art of socializing, after all he can not surround himself with machinery forever. He has always been a little bit of a joker and can not seem to help but laugh in situations that he really should not. He finds the misfortune of others hilarious, if he sees someone slip on frost he is more likely to wet himself than run over and help. A sore loser if you have ever seen one and is prone to tantrums when he does not get his own way, he is not one to shout, instead he will go silent and mope for a little while. At times it is almost possible to see the rain cloud hovering over his head.
History : Raptor has never met his biological parents and in all honesty he has no interest in never knowing them. He was adopted at the age of six by a man named Ian Rayner, a single father who opened his home to quite a few adopted children, Raptor was raised in Durem with his three older brothers and older sister. In his teenage years the punk scene which Durem is known for really took a hold on him and that explains his radical appearance. Yet despite his love for partying and late nights around town he always valued his education. After two years in college studying literature, fine art, psychobiology and technology he went on to do a IT course at university and he graduated at the age of twenty-two with his diploma and masters degree. Soon after he graduated he found a job at a computer programming company in Barton. At this time he moved out of his family home and started to rent a two bedroom apartment in the towns center. After spending a few years in the company he left it to work at home, he now does computer repairs from apartment and also designs websites on commission. He had always respected Ian for taking in so many stray children and giving them a loving home. It was this which gave him the desire to adopt himself and started to look into the Lab and the work it did.  Name : Ryan 'Raptor' Rayner.
Name Origin Raptor gained his nickname due to his yellow eyes and black eye tattoo's. Though admittedly his pointy features and scaled tail only add to the reptilian vibe he has going on.

Appearance : Raptor has a face that you are not likely to forget. It is usually choppy, on occasion decorated with streaks of black and lighter lavender. Longer strands at the bottom of his hairline and n his fringe give him a somewhat feminine look which helps soften his dominating masculine features. His fringe is often brushed to the side to keep it out of his eyes. His pale complexion continues to cover all of his body, he has never been a short man and he stands at just over six foot three. He is however very skinny for a man his size, despite some muscle definition in his arms and stomach his gives the impression that a strong wind would be able to blow him over. His wardrobe consists mainly of skinny jeans, spiked belts, buckles boots, hoodies and sleeveless shirts (most of which are either decorated in skulls or sarcastic tag lines). Last but not least he does have a tail... a black scaled tail that trails on the floor slightly as he walks, the end is slightly bent from the mass amount of times he has trapped it in doorways.
Personality : Raptor is a complete and utter nerd, the kind of guy who wastes several hours of his life on video games and movies. He has posters all over his apartment, complemented by a wide variety of memorabilia and a bookcase full of comics ( which are all alphabetically arranged ). He is one of those people who has a very active and creative imagination which he express's through painting and music. Anything extraordinary or unusual automatically captures his interest which is what first drew him to the Lab and Dr Kyou's research. In honesty he finds the whole concept fascinating and the Raevan's themselves beyond amazing.
He admittedly finds it much easier to read code and circuits than people. He has always been what some might describe as a genius, as a child he used to take things apart and put them back together, at first it started with stuff like watches and mobile phones and soon excelled into engines and mother boards. When the situation calls for it he can be a grown-up and he truly thinks he is a good candidate to adopt and raise a Raevan.
Likes: Body modifications, video games, alternative music, parties, fine art, microwave noodles, animals ( especially lizards ), cleaning, long hot baths, horror movies, fantasy stories, boobies, bars, rock climbing, roller skating, waffles, truth or dare, the moment when someone is running for the bus and the door slams in their face.

After spending a few years in the company he left it to work at home, he now does computer repairs from apartment and also designs websites on commission. It was this which gave him the desire to adopt himself and started to look into the Lab and the work it did, after making sure he could dedicate enough time to to taken care of a Raevan and also double checking his income was enough to support him and another he sent off his application to the lab.
Extra Notes :
{ Insomniac } Raptor has always had trouble sleeping, it began when he was young and has carried on to haunt most of his adult life. Working at home has helped his condition a lot, he can not sleep when he is tired instead of struggling with sleeping on a night. He goes through periods where he can hardly sleep at all depending on his stress levels.
{ Hacker } Having so much experience with computers means that Raptor has gained a talent in cracking codes and hacking into mainframes. Even though he has never used his skill to steal or break the law does not mean he would not be able to if he wanted to. He uses this skill to log into peoples computers when he is repairing them.

{ Kitchen } This does not really get used very much at the moment, despite Raptor graduating university years ago he still lives a student life-style, meaning his main source of nutrition comes from put noodles, microwave meals and Chinese food. Thinking about it... he can not remember if the oven has ever been turned on.
{ Living/Dinning Room } Much like the kitchen the dinning room has never really been used either, it is just there to look nice and give the impression he is a lot classier than he actually is. It is always set with a fresh bunch of flowers in the center, the only day of the year it i used it when his family come over for Christmas. Most meals are eaten on treys in-front of the TV. Under the TV is where his bearded dragon lives, he is called Eli.
{ Utility Room } This is where the washing machine and dryer live! Well in truth the dryer has been broken for the past year, he keeps saying he will get someone into fix it but it has never really happened. So he dried his clothes via a washing line on the balcony.
{ Balcony } When not been used to dry his clothes it is where he goes to read on a night, he is a guy that often has parties on the weekend so he sets the barbecue up outside and opens the door that leads to the living room. That is its only real use, besides calling over to his neighbor to ask for milk or sugar.
[ Bedroom One ] Not many people have really seen this room, its Raptors little haven and the only room that looks like it is lived in. His walls are covered in posters and photographs, his desk is covered in books It has his own bathroom which contains the only bath in the house. Raptor likes to soak, it might not be the most manly of hobbies but hey, at least he is clean.
{ Bedroom Two } This room is reserved for Asha...
