Ronnel was born to a family that didn't know shinobi, didn't know their past. Thus, when he began exhibiting strange abilities, they had no clue what was going on. He was forced to train himself as best as he could, which wasn't very well at all.

Unfortunately, his meager attempts at training attracted the attention of someone passing nearby - someone who would not take kindly to the bright chakra the boy was slowly learning. Late one night, as Ronnel finished his training - which was getting close to bringing something out of him, more than just the bright chakra, the person struck.

All the boy, then aged thirteen, knew, was that someone came down from the trees near his training area, with a sharp blade in their hand. He never saw the person, only darkness - and pain, as his neck was torn open. The attacker vanished into the night, obviously thinking that the boy would die from that wound.

Somehow, he managed to survive long enough to get back to his family's home - to his mother, whow as able to suture the wound, and take care of him. He lived, grew up... and joined the nearby village of Konoha. He is still on the watch for the person who attacked him, while at the same time the attack has left two lasting marks on him. One is a reverence rarely seen in the shinobi world, a faith in a God above men. The second is that he rarely, if ever, shows his neck - which still bears the scar mark from his attack.
