((This is backlogged a tad))

Danny had everything she had prepared. There was her amp, which was just the small portable one. There was her guitar, slung over her shoulders with no real carriage system. It was just draped over her. In terms of outfit, she had tried to put together something nice, but it had turned out more like a nice top with her usual track shorts. Not really fashionable, but it would do for her. Fashion wasn't her top priority anyways.

Right now she was headed to her boilfriend's (eeeee) room to practice for their music for the play. There were a few songs that Roch was making her play (well not MAKING her, she was happy to do so) and she needed to make sure she had the timing down with Rikki. Luckily Roch hadn't given her the harder guitar, taking that upon himself, but some of the songs had some tricky parts. Especially the Crushin' Dance piece. That one was going to be a toughy.

Either way, she knocked politely and got no answer. She frowned. She was sure she had sent him a text to be ready by 10 AM. Turning the doorknob, she found that it was unlocked, meaning he was in the room. He probably just didn't hear her knock. Whatevs.

As she snaked into his room, what she found was still the same. Still beanbags and clothes all over the place, same old bed. It just felt more special. Weird. There was Rikki on the bed, completely asleep still. Danny rolled her eyes. How he managed to sleep past like ... 7 AM was beyond her.

Mischievously, Danny crawled onto the bed and wiggled until she could flop on top of him, like she always did with Roch. "G'morningggg!" she squealed. It probably wasn't the politest way to wake someone up, but it damn sure was the Danny way.

Text? Nyyrikki hadn't even bothered to roll over as his phone continued to vibrate every few minutes as a reminder to check his messages. In fact, he wasn't really aware of it vibrating at all. He was curled up comfy and cozy under his blankets (sprawled haphazardly across his bed, blanket tangled around his legs and barely covering him) wearing nothing but a pair of orange sweatpants with Rakkwin and Ruska curled around each other by his head.

"Ouumph," he grunted, startled out of his sleep. Ruska squealed in surprise, turning joxly tail and running, but the wendigo just blinked open tired eyes and stared at Danny. "If you have to to say good morning," he complained, flipping them over until she was the one with her back to the bed, serving as a living cushion for Nyyrikki to sleep on. " it's too early. I'm not getting out of bed until noon."

His phone vibrated again, seeming to get angrier the more it had to remind him, and he finally reached over to read the message. Ready at 10? Pffahahaha.

Danny blinked as Rikki seemed to be ... using her for a pillow? Her cheeks puffed up in a pout, and she decided to toy with him for once. She unwrapped herself from around him, and attempted to wiggle out from underneath him in fake protest.

"Well if that's so, I'll just be leaving," she said slyly, "I'll see you in about two hours." A grin crossed her face, "Because that's what you want, of course." She faked a sad face and attempted one more time to sit up from underneath him.

He grumbled as she began to wiggle, shifting in compensation so he could still retain optimum comfort levels. ... And shifting again... and again. "That's emotional blackmail," he protested with a hint of a whine. Eventually he'd had enough of their little wiggle-shift dance and he locked his arms and legs on either side of her to prevent her from moving far enough to compromise his sleeping.

"You're not leaving bed until noon either." As if punctuating his point, Rakkwin climbed ontop of Rikki's back, curling up and appeared to fall back asleep. They were effectively made into a sleep mountain.

Danny had laughed and snuggled happily with Rikki until she felt something on his back. Something not right. It was a lump, protruding off his back and something was very very wrong.

This lump was cold.

Immediately Danny's fluttered open widely and she started squirming for dear unlife. Her suave, mischievous personality had left the building and was now replaced with something much worse. "R-Rikki get off me, th-there's something on your back and it's cold and-" She was wiggling rather violently now, and even Rikki's tight grip couldn't restrain her.

She broke free from the picturesque cuddle pile and had effectively zipped across the room and was back against the wall, panting and scared.

For a moment Nyyrikki held on tighter to Danny, trying to keep her from escaping, but as soon as he realized that she was actually panicked, he let her go, rolling to his side and knocking Rakkwin away. The mini seemed nonplussed, crawling onto Rikki's side instead, but the boil was confused enough for the both of them.

"I thought you knew about Rakkwin?" Feeling bad for having a seemingly terrified Danny in his room, he shifted until the wendigo was in his arms and scooted out of bed. The steps he took toward Danny were slow and deliberate, giving her a chance to really see what she was looking at; a ball of blue fur looking sleepy and relaxed. It's little horns had barely started growing in and it was obviously still visibly a baby. But, she was right. He was cold. Nyyrikki supposed he had just gotten used to it, but he hadn't even thought of how Danny would react. "He's a wendigo. My parents sent him to me a couple months ago. Well... the sent a patch of fur and then this guy appeared." He held Rakkwin out to her. "He's not that bad, I promise. He's cuddly."

The way Rikki was talking to her. So sweet and slow and pitying.

Danny hated it.

She tried to take a more heroic, but still defensive stance. She stammered, "I-I don't care. Whatever. I was just worried for your safety." She shook her heads and hand like it was no big deal.

She quickly crossed the room, seemingly "over it," but her eyes remained watching the wendigo the entire time. She was just waiting for it to pounce on her tail and put her out. Why would his parents send him such a horrible gift? Maybe they heard about her and it was a sign that they didn't want her dating their son. How did they find out so fast?! It was only like two days ago!

Nervously, she picked up her guitar and amp, and said, "W-We can just practice another time. Okay bye." She started inching towards the door, attempting to escape the thing. She wasn't hiding her discomfort well.

Nyyrikki frowned and tucked Rakkwin to his chest, no effectively awake. His hair was a mess, flipping this way and that. His sweatpants were a mess, hanging low on his hips, one pant leg pulled up. He looked... Well like he'd just rolled out of bed.

"No. Look, I'll go put him in the other room." He paused just long enough to give her another frown, cuddling his pet, before he turned and disappeared into the kitchen. He may have a strong dislike for his parents, but it was hard to continue to hate something that was always curled up on your chest or playing with the common dorm-room things that he usually took for granted. Plus, his joxes seemed to get along fine with him. He dumped the wendigo in one of the beds and then bee-lined for his bathroom to brush his teeth. "Set up wherever," he called with a mouthful of toothpaste. "You can drag out a chair from the kitchen if you want."

... Rakkwin peeked around the corner from the kitchen, interested in Danny now that he was being denied.

Danny frowned, clearly not happy with the arrangement, but she found herself not able to just up and leave. Feelings aside, they really did need to practice their song for the play. It would be bad to just up and leave like this. Roch would get mad if they messed up, after all, it would all be on him. He was technically "in charge" of the music.

Danny looked at the kitchen chair option and specifically shook her head while Rikki went to brush his teeth. Definitely wasn't an option. No way she was going to leave herself all defenseless while that thing put her flame out. She could just see the thing staring at her with those creepy eyes. Well she was going to win this game. So HA.

So instead, Danny just stuck to the couch. At first, she sat on the couch, and carefully plugged in her guitar. She played a few chords to make sure that everything was in working order. Gosh Rikki was taking a long time. Danny didn't even think SHE took this long in the bathroom in the morning. In a few seconds, she was draped over the couch, wiggling with impatience. Towards the bathroom, she whined, "Hurry uppppppp." Patience was not her virtue.

Rikki returned from the bathroom at her command, his sweats fixed, his hair some-what combed, teeth brushed, and face washed. He was feeling less tired and gross just from that little routine, but he still wasn't happy about being awake already. He didn't have class! Was practice important enough to demand that he be awake early?

Yeah, probably...

He pushed Rakkwin back in the kitchen with his foot as he passed and bent over the couch to place a peck of a kiss to the top of her head. "I know you're good, Danny," he said, raising a brow, "but I don't think you're going to be able to play the songs laying on the couch like that." He turned to settle on the stool behind his drums and reached behind him to a little bookshelf that, instead if texts for school, held necessities and spare parts of his drums. Two new drum stick slid out of their package easily; he'd broken his latest used pair last night.

He had to admit that he was pretty interested in hearing how the drums and guitar would come together, especially after how well the violin and drums had melded. "Which song first? March or Sugar Pumpkin might be the hardest for me."

Danny had zoned off for two seconds, and there was Rikki kissing her forehead. A smile slipped across her face; she still wasn't out of the honeymoon ring yet. She really wanted nothing more than to yank him down with her on the couch ...

But they had a job to do! Danny slid to the end of the couch and set up some pillows so that she was sitting up, and then crossed her legs very calmly, guitar still resting on top of them. She was just getting comfortable. Her fingers moved listlessly across the frets; a habit from her restlessness to play.

She shook her head and said, "The sugar pumpkin one is so easy!" with a laugh. Like she could care less though. They'd probably end up having to do all of the songs. "Let's do the march first. That one's kinda hard. The Crushin' dance is my hardest one," she said with a a sort of frown at the last one. She knew she wasn't very good at it, and didn't really want to admit it.

Still, this would be fun! Without any real notice, Danny began playing the little "intro" that Roch was actually in charge of, but would have to be played to start them off on the right beat. She sat pleasantly, most of the time with her eyes closed. Sometimes looking down and sticking her tongue out during the hard parts. Surprisingly, her eyes weren't ever really focused on Rikki. She was ESCAPING INTO DA MUSIC.

Rikki gaped at her when she proclaimed the Dance of the Sugar Pumpkin Fairy to be easy. "Excuse me, but who's the one who knows how to play drums here, huh? It's jacking difficult," he harrumphed, though his lips twitched in amusement. There was no real issue because March was by far the more complex of the two, and he really needed to practice it.

There wasn't much he needed to do. His drum set up precisely to his standards and rarely moved, and warming up drums just sounded silly. But, he could sit back and enjoy the view of Danny plucking at her guitar, legs crossed quite cutely. It was a sight that Rikki had never allowed himself the time to appreciate before, well... before, because then Danny was just another one of his friends. He was still a little terrified about what this relationship would do to their friendship, but so far so good. Nothing had seemed to have change much except for the frequency of her visits. And the kissing. Yay.

Rattling a cymbal to get her attention, he raised his brows. "Plotting how to steal Roch's pumpkinlight? I'll help if you want."

Mmmm. This note, then pluck here, then move up, and-

A crashing of the cymbal brought her out of her little dream world. "H-Huh!" she exclaimed, clearly shocked. "Oh uh. Oops." She smiled mischievously at the idea of stealing Roch's pumpkinlight. Of course, her best friend would throw a fit if that happened, and let's face it; it was't really possible. Roch was kind of the king of guitar. Danny was but a karate scareling to his sensei. He'd kick her a** any day. Still, the idea was kind of funny.

"Ahhhhh ... let's doooo..." she glanced at her sheet music pile that she had brought, but not particularly needed. She was mostly using it for reference, not reading.

Ooh! That was a good one! Rikki had said he needed to do it before too. "Let's do the sugar pumpkin fairy one. Since it's so easy to play," she said mischievously, her smile completely giving away the poignancy of the insult. This time she waited for his cue, as she needed the drum beat to start her riff with.

...

............

He scowled at her, but started up the beat non-the-less. It began smoothly, simple beats, but as he got into the grooves of the more complicated combinations he grinned. Easy? He'd give her easy. Feel confident he picked up the pace, wondering if she'd falter or even notice as she was forced to change tempo. It took an extra degree of concentration, causing him to bite his lip a fraction and furrow his brows. Every thought that ran through his thoughts was technical, from the type of drum or cymbal he'd be hitting to the speed and length of the beat, but it rushed together in a blob that he wouldn't be able to explain to anyone that didn't play. It was as unique to drumming as the smooth strum of strings was to a guitar.

Danny couldn't help but laugh. Angry Rikki was so cute and focused! Well no, any Rikki was cute, but she especially liked how frustrated he got over her comment. Maybe that was just payback for all the times he'd messed with her.

When the song was over, she played a particularly cliche arpeggio to finish them off and gave another one of her obnoxious riffs of laughter. Getting more comfortable, she stacked some pillows on one side of the couch, letting her lay down while remained "upright" enough to continue playing.

"I guess that was okay," she batted, playfully, "I think I definitely rocked that better than you though. Definitely." She laughed another round of coarse laughter. This was just too fun. "Why don't you pick the next song?" she offered.
