In the Shinobi world Rank may not mean everything but it is still a significant part of one's life. Beyond just being a publicly known label for one's own capabilities your rank can open up many doors for you. Below you will be able to see what perks there are for each rank and just what the requirements/limitations are to reach each one. We will also explain how to transfer from village to village, how to form teams, and how your RPical Actions can cause a Mod to use NPCs to take actions against/with you.
This even applies to Missing-Nin, who by the government are classified in ranks based upon just how dangerous they are.
Academy Student~
All players start out as an Academy Student.
You must be Level 0.
You have no pay rate as an Academy Student.
You may not take missions.
You may not give, receive, buy, sell, or trade items. (The Purchase of DD Items from DBL alone is an exemption.)
You may not be attacked or attack another player system wise.
You are limited to the Ninja Academy Thread ONLY.
Your base EXP is 4 per 20 Words.

Genin / D-Ranked Criminal~
You must RP Out 2000 Words within the Ninja Academy Thread to reach this rank.
You must be at least Level 3 or higher.
Upon Reaching this Rank you will have a one time choice of 3 Item Packs shown in the academy. Should you forget this you will not be allowed to come back and get it at a later time. It is at a Mod's discretion to remind you about this.
You have access to D-Ranked Missions. (To do higher ranked missions, follow the instructions Here)
Your base EXP is 4 per 20 Words.
Every time you Level Up you will receive a Paycheck. Your Paycheck is Equivalent to the Level Reached x 15 Ryo.
You may give, receive, buy, sell or trade items.
You are free to have system based fights.
You are allowed to travel within your country but not leave it(You may choose to leave anyways but that may cause you to be marked as a Missing-Nin and have a bounty placed upon your head). Exception being special events, accompanied by a Chuunin or higher, or given special permission by a superior.
Chuunin / C-Ranked Criminal~
You must be at least Level 30 or higher.
You must have done at least 12 Missions to qualify for the Chuunin Exams. You must pass the Chuunin Exam to reach the Chuunin Rank.
Upon Reaching this Rank you will be rewarded your own NPC Team(Represented by a customizable Level 100 Ally Item).
Your base EXP is 5 per 20 Words.
Your Paycheck is now Level Reached x 40 Ryo.
You have permission to exit and enter your country freely.
You may now be placed as the Leader of a squad, so long as you are of equal or higher rank than the members.
Jounin / B-Ranked Criminal~
You must be at least Level 45 or higher.
Must have successfully completed at least 10 B-Ranked Missions and/or pass your country's Jounin Exam (Created by the Kage Player/Mod of said Country).
Your base EXP is 6 per 20 Words.
Your Paycheck is now Level Reached x 65 Ryo.
You will be rewarded with a Level 150 Item of the Kage/Mod's creation.
Anbu / A-Ranked Criminal~
You must be at least level 55 or higher.
Must have successfully completed at least 3 A-Ranked Missions and/or successfully taken 5 bounties. As well as be accepted by your country's Kage/Mod.
Your base EXP is 7 per 20 Words.
Your Paycheck is now Level Reached x 90 Ryo.
You will be allowed to design a Guild Item(The idea must be reasonable and can/will be altered by a mod to be balanced).
Kage~
You must be at least level 60.
Must have successfully completed at least 1 S-Ranked Mission or be level 100 and have the majority votes for the position amongst your peers in said village. You may also attempt to assassinate a current Player/NPC Kage and perform a Hostile Takeover.
Your base EXP is 8 per 20 Words.
Your Paycheck is now Level Reached x 140 Ryo.
You may alter the prices within your Country's Market once every month but for every Ryo increased on one effect another effect must be decreased; and you may only increase by a total of 100(This is not a singular effect but as a collective.
You may declare War on another Country.
You may exile a Player from your Country.
You may control the Buildings of your Country as you see fit.
You may place Laws for your Country as you see fit.
Sannin / S-Ranked Criminal~
Must have completed the same requirements as a Kage / have been a Kage.
Your base EXP is 8 per 20 Words.
Your PayCheck is now Level Reached x 115 Ryo.
