Riyo had rushed to the testing grounds immediately when she saw the groanspring post Junko had sent out to everyone. Amityville couldn’t close. The feline still had things to learn, people to meet… Friends to keep. Yes, if the school closed, how could she possibly find an excuse to fraternize with these people outside of school? Moreover, a lack of school meant she’d be seeing more and more of home, and after the last visit that just wouldn’t do.
“I’m here… To test!” The ghoul shouted dramatically, though… She wasn’t sure what she would be testing on. Uh, let’s see… What’s listed? Sure, she could do the written exam, but so could everyone else… Right? Physical exam? Probably not a fantastic idea. Hex spells?
… Hex spells. S-she could do hex spells. Kinda. Well, she’d practiced the most basic of them. Enchant a bag? She’d never tried that one. Glancing over her shoulder to the hazcat clinging to her jacket, she gave him the ‘brace yourself’ look. A clawed hand ever-so-delicately reached for a bag to enchant. The pressure was on. She could see those Jack-damned boogeymen grinning like fools at the chance that she would fail. Offering them a confident smirk (that may or may not have been fabricated), Riyo managed to keep her cool. She could work under pressure. Most of the jerks she worked with hated her anyways.
“Okay…” Now how did that spell go? It was in one of the books she’d bought with Mot a long time ago. If she would’ve known there was such a short time limit on this, maybe she would’ve studied beforehand… “Place bag on ground, draw special symbol around area…” Oh… Wait. She didn’t have chalk. What did she have?
Digging through her pockets, the ghoul managed to produce a container of ink. Well… Not exactly practical, but it would work, right? Quietly she used the ink like paint and formed a semi-ominous symbol around the tiny container. Great. Now her fingers were filthy. “That looks about right.” She thought. Maybe. Oh jeez. “And three dabs of the casters blood on each corner…” Or was it four? No, three sounded right. Definitely. With a cringe, the ghoul bit into her thumb and followed her own instructions carefully. Yes, that would do. Okay. “And now I chant the words…” Felix already looked uncomfortable with this whole situation, especially when he ducked his head down and used Riyo as a shield for whatever might go wrong.
Though Riyo paid him no mind. She had to be confident, after all. A lack of confidence could make this whole effort worthless… Right? A gasp of air filled her lungs as she recited the strange words she remembered from the book (though unfortunately neglecting the ones she didn’t remember). With all the other things on her mind, it was a little surprising she could recall what she did…
It seemed, however, when her chant was finished… Nothing happened. “… Um.” Oh boy. Why wasn’t the bag all… Enchanty? Brows knitted together, the ghoul reached down and picked up the bag when a horrid odor caught her nose. “Sweet Sally!” She cried and held the ‘enchanted’ bag away from her face. It smelled like the lunch lady’s unwashed underwear deep fried and left out in the rain for a couple of days. “Well. It’s… Enchanted with something.” Something foul. Instead of handing it to the person in charge, however, she threw it with all her might at their face. “A GIFT FOR YOU!” She screeched before turning into a small, long-legged cat and running like a bat out of hell with Felix on her tail.
