Natural Ability: Shinigami Eyes: Banshee's are known for letting out a piercing cry or a lament before ones death, but how do you think they are able to know when it is time? Her natural ability is to know five days before a persons death when it is their time if they look at said person directly. However, she may not tell them, if she tries she will go mute, instead the only thing she can really do is sing a lament or scream.


Personality: Avoidance is the key - She doesn't like being near people, never has. It is kind of hard becoming close to someone knowing that one day you will see their death date. That overwhelming feeling that today could be the day, that she may see it. Hell. She avoids big groups, clinging to the corner with a good book in her hands and her hood raised over her head. However, as she grows this will change over time, learning that mostly everyone dies and that she cannot keep stuffing herself in the corner, it really isn't all to healthy. She gets along with the undead and ghosts the most, unable to see their death dates because, well, they already are dead. When around one of the two types she will become slightly more outgoing, humorous, and attentive to her surroundings. If a living were to befriend her they must be patient with her and how she attempts to blow them off, though it isn't impossible to gain her favor. One just has to be willing to chase her a bit.

She will approach people if she needs assistance that only they can provide. Such as, if she is lost somewhere and saw a group of ghouls she'd approach them for help, however that is pretty much the extent of her willingness to approach others. Unless, of course, they are the undead or ghosts. She'd seek their company out just to relieve some of the loneliness she feels from rarely being around people in general.

Insecure - She isn't the scariest looking ghoul, or hell, even scary at all. Born from a long linage of Banshee's, she was always the strange one. Her parents prided themselves in being absolutely frightening to look upon, it was an honor! Her mother came from a house of four, being the most grotesque, so she was expected to carry on her appearance to her child. Sadly, Shira did not come out as was expected. For not appearing as frightening as her mother, or even not frightening enough she was often the butt of most of the jokes amongst the family. She ended up rather insecure about her appearance, wishing to be normal. Normal as in frightening. When she comes upon particularly grotesque she often will not meet their eyes, flip her hood over her head, and pretend she isn't there. She doesn't like confronting people that possess the appearance she so desires much and will do anything she can to avoid them. If she just pretends they aren't they.... maybe she won't have to remember the fact that she is an improper Banshee.

While insecure among the frightening, she also is insecure when on a date. She isn't quite sure what to do on one, having never really dated before, and will end up scowling at the floor and blaming her mother for her shitty genetics. Really, she couldn't have a flirty personality like her mom? Not cool. Either way, the fact that a boy would even ask her out would probably be overkill... When faced with a crush or a person confessing she would probably end up stammering, cursing in-between stammers, and generally make a fool of herself. Fail.

Though, she really doesn't seem to care for beautiful ghouls or boils. Yea, she may become attracted to a beautiful boil, but they are far less intimidating and stutter causing then the frightening. She won't end up being jealous over their appearance and most likely (once she got over her natural ability issue) have a less fail of a friendship/relationship with them.

Passionate - Despite being rather reluctant to approach others, she has a passionate streak. She's mostly passionate over animals, finding it disgusting if they are mistreated or mishandled, and can get to the point where she even gets violent, though not majorly. The most she'd do would create a banshee scream, and then run off with the animal being tormented. She dislikes when people bully children, often stepping in as well. When she is assigned a job to do she becomes absorbed with it, trying her hardest to perform her best and removing any obstacle in her path. It's best to step back if you don't want to go flying during her hurry. She's also fairly competitive and won't back down from a challenge.

Map? Eh? - Terrible at directions or reading a map, she gets lost rather easy. Would she approach someone for help? No. Not likely, she still doesn't like the idea of meeting strangers and perhaps seeing their death date, and so instead she'd explore the area throughly, attempting to find her own way by hunting for a map or signs. If worse came to worse, fine, she'd approach someone, probably stuttering the entire time.

Strong - Oh my. Shira is actually pretty strong for her slight size. Despite not showing this much (planning to change when she ages), she can take care of herself if she is endangered. She isn't the type to allow someone to physically hurt her and would fight back, her hits leaving bruises that stay for weeks, perhaps she may even break bones without meaning to. Though she has this under control in daily life, when defending herself she tends to go overboard...

Voice - She loves to sing, and as she ages she will get better. It is natural for her to sing, being a Banshee her voice is her main weapon, shield, and medicine. If she were to grow sick and unable to sing Shira would not react well, probably harming herself further by trying to sing through the illness. She'd need to be forced to not sing. She doesn't feel natural if she hasn't sung recently, and grows very snappy, impatient, and twitchy if she's been deprived. She does not like to sing in-front of people, despite her talent she is still rather shy about her voice, though as she ages this will change for the better.



Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Sent here by her mother in the hopes that she could at least become frightening over time, Shira wasn't to amused when she arrived. The idea of gathering FEAR to try and improve her appearance seemed impossible. However, when the idea of her becoming strong through gathering FEAR and surpassing her family intrigued her. It's becoming a challenge now, to become stronger than what her family believe is possible, and showing them that she isn't that ugly little runtling they used to make fun of. No. She wants to be strong, surpass their expectations, and possibly her own.

FEAR Ability: Year One -Howling Scream: Concentrating all her FEAR, she lets out a piercing scream that will create shock waves able to hit her opponent. However, if she is distracted as she is about to scream it will not be strong enough, leaving her open to an attack. Also, if one covers her mouth the obviously cannot attack with this method. Year Two -Healers Song: Just as her voice can be used for a violent scream, she can use it for healing. As a Year Two she will master her voice just a little more, learning how to concentrate her FEAR into a replenishing song. (The Chill)

Year Three -Lamenting Wail: As a Year Three she shall finally master her voice into the sound a Banshee is meant to make, a true mournful wail. This will result in a wild attack that results are unpredictable and can sometimes harm her as well! (The Gamblers Chance)

Physical Description:

Eye Colour: Yellow, her eyes are slanted as if she is always uninterested in the world around her, which is probably true.
Hair Colour/Style: Red, messy during her first year, becoming more defined in her second and third. Colorist choice in style, though the basic idea is in references.
Skin Colour: CC! You do not have to follow the references for skin color, if you like.
Clothing Style/Colours: Colorist choice, she's more likely to wear clothes like this. Cutesy/punk clothing, basically.
Extra: Pointy ears, six piercings on face, three one each side of nose which can be seen in the references. Teeth are fangs, like a shark mouth <3 Everything else is CC. I'd love if she had some faint orange glow to her, perhaps? (Her horns should be removed, plsu~)

The info you have looks solid! I don't see anything wrong with it. The only real problem I see here is that you have art of her that is very strictly speaking using the physical characteristics of a demon, but she is a ghost (banshee), so her art and her race don't match. Horns and dark skin are not typically found on ghosts or banshees - and markings on the skin is usually typical of demons (not exclusive, just typical)

It is very lovely art though, and I have to say if you had to choose between changing her art, and changing her race, I'd say make her a demon - that's a mighty fine looking one there! XD

Sadly you can't be a demon banshee here, since banshee's are under the ghost race in the subspecies classification threads, buuut what is it about banshees that you like, that make you want to make her one? We might be able to work it into something that's demonically classified, without actually being a banshee.

Also, I would like to say I really like the 'Why are they enrolled' section of your form, it shows a clear understanding of how this world setting works, which is imo the hardest part of the shop XD

I figured it was the voice aspect, since that is pretty fun to play with. You could create a demon of song, if you wanted to play around with it, buuut I think your best bet if you like that the most is to do what you suggested, which is just to mention she doesn't actually have horns, and basically if she's picked up, allow the artist enough freedom to give her some sense of banshee-ness. That shouldn't be so hard XD As long as you're open to changes, I'm sure it will work out, especially with such a strong write-up.

Oh, and also! Since we already have two banshees, you should take a look at their dorm rooms, get a feel for their character designs, and see if there's anything that is backgroundish-strictly bansheeish that you would want to adopt in order to have continuity with them. Their names are Siobhan and Sarias. You can see that they both have very unique looks, so I don't think your girl's looks will be a problem other than horns. Those just scream 'ahmahgah I'm a demon' XD
