Shania lay dozing in the midday sun, enjoying the warmth it had to offer. Her little companions were playing, as they normally do, and had wandered away from her while she snoozed.
Fancy, the little black and white kitten fluttered through the air, laughing at the raccoon chasing along behind her on the ground. She always used her wings to her advantage. She spun in midair and flew backwards, making faces at the raccoon. Carson was annoyed that she was so blatantly taunting him. His brows furrowed and he ran faster, but put on the brakes as he saw what was behind her. He slid through some leaves and into a bush. Fancy, noticing that Carson had stopped persuing her, started to turn around, but was stopped midturn as she tumbled into a nest of golden hair. She immediately freaked out and started meowing and hissing, striking out with her paws and claws trying to free herself, but only succeeding in tangling herself more. Carson saw what happened and first, just wanted to laugh at her predicament, then noticing that the stuff she was tangled in was hair and as his eyes traveled up, that it belonged to a Soquili, he took off, running back to Shania.
He ran as fast as his little legs could carry him and finally found Shania still asleep under the tree. He ran up her rump, back and neck to her head and started tugging at her, speaking quickly. "Shania! Shania! Wake up wake up wake up! Fancy's in trouble!" he said, his little mouth moving so fast. He tugged at her ear and jumped down moving in front of her. He put his little paws on her face.
Shania awoke to the tugging and frantic words of the little raccoon. "Wha-huh?" she said, still thinking she might be asleep. "Carson? What? Fancy's in trouble? How?" she asked, thinking he might be playing some sort of game.
Carson quickly told her what happened, and she yawned, and stood. "She got tangled in what? Another Soquili's hair?" She almost laughed at this but then thought that this stranger could hurt the little kitten. She couldn't have that. "Show me where she's at." she said sternly, stretching her wings. Carson scurried up her mane and sat on her neck, holding tight to her hair. "That way!" he pointed, and Shania took flight.

Before Dhiren felt a fury of claws and his hair wildly being pulled, he had been intrigued by a tiny yellow bird he had never once seen before, but it was apparent the little bird was not new to the land for he went through the trees with such confidence Dhiren was sure the small creature had grown up here. He watched the bird join to others of its kind and had been so taken with the birds that his ears failed to give him warning.
He felt something hit his tail and then sharp little pin pricks when what ever it was started lashing out, actually managing to make contact with his leg, several times. Dhiren stood as still as he could wondering what could be this painful and tiny to be stuck in his hair. He turned to see the orange mass of hair behind him twitching, hissing, and meowing. Meowing? He turned back to his tail as far as his body would let him and saw a few white and black flailing limbs. "Calm down, calm down, its okay." He tried to soothe the terrified and angry creature by being as calm as he could be "I'll help you get out, it will be okay, just try not to make it worse by moving too much." Silently wondering what his sisters and mother would say when he saw them later and they saw his tail in a more than usual tangled mess, he grabbed a section of hair and started separating his hair as best he could from the little meowing creature. "How did you ever manage to do this, little one?"

The little kitten's frantic cries didn't quiet when she heard the stallion speak. In fact, she became more afraid and meowed louder. By now her squirming and twisting had tangled the hair in her tiny wings and around her paws. What a mess she had gotten herself into!
Shania flew as fast as she could, dodging tree branches. The path ahead looked to be impossible to fly through, so she landed and Carson jumped down and ran ahead of her. "This way!" he called over his shoulder. "Not too much further!"
Shania followed after him, worried now for her little pet. "How had this even happened?" she wondered, trying to keep up with the fast moving raccoon. It wasn't long before she could hear the cries of the little kitten, and she heard a soothing male voice as well. Instantly, some of the worry melted away. She just couldn't imagine someone with such a soothing voice could harm a small animal intentionally, but Shania always did believe the best in those around her. It was both her best and worst quality and had sometimes gotten her into trouble.
As she got closer to the sound of the kitten, she saw the stallion standing there, his attention on Fancy, trying to help her get out of his tail. Shania slowed to a stop and folded her wings in. "Hi there," she said to the stallion. "I see your tail has an intruder." She chuckled and looked down at the kitten, barely visible in the thick golden hair.
Fancy had stopped struggling now, but was still crying, though not as loud. Carson sat on the ground next to the stallion's hair and watched, curious about this stranger.

Dhiren paused when a raccoon came very close and sat watching him. Wondering if it was a common thing for animals to want to be in his hair today, he warily took a step away. He paused in his step though and looked toward the voice now there and looked up to see two pairs of black and white legs. No that wasn't right. He raised his head, unintentionally taking a section of hair with him and grinned at the angeni mare's words, looking back in at the kitten.
"It would seem so, though how she got in there is a mystery." He replied gently, not wanting to be too loud or start the kitten twisting and struggling again by too loud of noises. He returned to gently attempting to separate his hair from the tiny body, not exactly sure if he was going about it the right way, but pleased to see that it seemed to be working at least slightly. He perked up his ears in slight curiosity, and paused in his work. "Is this by chance, your kitten?"

Shania watched the stallion trying to help Fancy get out of his tail. "Yes, she does. I have to say, she's gotten herself into trouble before, but nothing like this. I'm very sorry. My familiar Carson tells me they were chasing each other and she wasn't watching where she was going. That's why she ended up in your tail." she explained.
She nudged Carson forward. "Why don't you go help Fancy get out of this nice stallions hair. Your little paws would be much more help than either of us using our mouths." Carson nodded and went to work. First he grabbed hold of her back paws and tugged. This only caused her to cry out and pull the golden hair tighter. Shania watched him closely. "Wait, Carson. Don't pull. Untangle the hair from her wings and legs, then she can wiggle out on her own." He huffed and started to meticulously untangle each of the kitten's legs, and then her wings. He parted the hair and the kitten was now visible. She mewed softly up at Shania, fear and anxiety in her eyes. She tried to stand and walk now, her feet touching the ground, but she still had some curls wrapped around her neck and middle. "He's almost done. Just a little longer," Shania soothed, as Carson pulled the hair apart that twirled around her neck. He then freed her tail and she bounded over to Shania, hiding behind her front leg and looked up at the stallion.
Shania softly chuckled and looked at the stallion as well. "Again, I'm so sorry about all the trouble. I hope your tail isn't damaged too much. I know that much hair is hard to manage. I have the same problem myself." She smiled at him. "I'm Shania, by the way, and this is Carson," she nodded towards the raccoon, "and Fancy, you've already been aquainted with.

Dhiren moved out of the way for the raccoon and winced when he started pulling, though more for the little kittens sake than his own, but when Shania corrected his maneuver to get her out he sighed. "No harm in good fun, though perhaps keeping a look out to where you are going would be advisable." He looked back to see that Fancy was almost free of his hair. "What say you, tiny kitten?"
He watched as she finally came free and with a grin on his face, gave a couple good shakes to his tail and settled for it looking disheveled. It was okay, though right now he slightly wished it was lovely and brushed, for that's how any respectable stallion would love to be seen by a lovely mare. He swung himself around to face her, straightening up and feeling his muscles relax after bending awkwardly. "Really, its no problem. I welcome anything that makes my day all that more interesting."
He paused to look down at the kitten and set a soft smile on his face. "I'm sorry you got caught in my hair web of hair, but really, you made for an excellent story today." He straightened to first look at the raccoon then back to the mare. "You see when I get home and my sisters and mother start fussing over my tail, I get to tell them of the wonderful new familiars I met, and the lovely lady who set her raccoon to free her kitten from my vicious locks of hair." He grinned pleasantly and bowed. "It is wonderful to meet you all. My name is Dhiren."

The kitten stayed hidden behind Shania's leg, both from embarrassment and terror. She never was good around new Soquili. She always tried to hide. Carson scurried over to the kitten and sat next to her, watching curiously all those around him.
Shania looked at the stallion for a second, taking in his beauty. His long golden hair was gorgeous, no thanks to Fancy's footwork, but the rest of him was beautiful as well. She admired his colors and markings and the accessories that adorned his hair, neck and back. The soft oranges and pinks of his wings accented the light purple of his body nicely. She blinked a few times and looked away, feeling a slight warmth to her cheeks when she realized she had been staring at the stallion.
His voice broke her free of her daze, and she acknowledge his words. "Thank you for your kindness towards us. I don't think Fancy could have gotten tangled in a more graceful gentleman's tail." She bowed slightly to him, smiling softly, her eyes meeting his. "It's a pleasure to meet you Dhiren, though, I wish it had been under better circumstances." She paused, giving thought to what he'd said. "Your family, do they have hair as magnificent as yours?" she asked, "If they do, I'm sure they would understand how odd things can get caught in it. I know I've found a few pine cones and other various seeds and branches in mine. It does help to have a familiar with little paws who can grab hold of those things and help me manage this mess." She indicated her mane by giving it a shake.

Dhiren continued his soft grin, he saw when her gaze moved over him and pretended not to notice, though a light blush came to his own cheeks. He recovered though, enough to realize she was asking about his family. He flipped his tail and nodded. "Mostly. My sisters have, if possible, more hair than I do, we inherited it from our father. Our mother has shorter hair but its nice and it suits her." He smiled "Any circumstance that ends with meeting a lovely lady is as good as it can be, especially when no one was terribly hurt." He winked at the timid kitten, hoping she would come around.
"I understand how unmanageable it can get, indeed a familiar with little hands seems it would be a good idea. My mother's familiar is a rat, he seems to help her with all sorts of things."

"I see. So your father gave you your golden locks. I inherited my long rainbow mane and tail from my mother. She and her sister both have magnificent hair, and I hope to someday pass it on to my own children." She paused, surprising herself at what she'd said. She had never even thought about children before now. Was it because of Dhiren? Did the presence of this male make her think of children? She couldn't be sure; instead, she cast the thought aside and attempted a change in topic.
"I do hope we didn't disturb you too much, Dhiren. Perhaps we should go and let you get back to what you were doing." she said, not really wanting to leave, but not wanting to intrude on him any longer than they already had.

Dhiren shook his head. "No disruption, in fact, my day would have been dull as a rock if Fancy hadn't gotten stuck in my tail." He nodded matter-of-factly, and flashed another grin. Not sure what the mood was that kept him grinning like a fool at the mare before him, it was pleasant and didn't leave him feeling awkward and unsure of himself. Those were the odd situations that he didn't like to be in. He was a stallion who enjoyed feeling light hearted and didn't enjoy situations that were dismal. Some times necessary though.
Realizing his thoughts had run amok with him he pulled himself free of their clutches. "I found the most fascinating bird just moments ago, but I doubt it stuck around from all the commotion. "It had been so tiny and the brightest yellow." He looked up in the nearby trees. "Have you ever seen such a bird, Shania?"

"Well, I am glad that we brought some excitement to your day," she smiled, closing her eyes and shaking her head slightly. "These two little creatures do keep my life exciting."
"This bird you found sounds adorable. I don't think I have seen any like it, but i have seen many birds before. I enjoy finding new wildlife to befriend." Her eyes followed the line of his neck, pausing to notice his pale eyes as she looked up into the tree for the bird he mentioned.
Fancy had gotten bored just sitting under Shania's feet, so she ventured out, staring up at the other Soquili. She crinkled her nose at him and pawed silently away to a nearby fallen branch where she crawled up on and sat. She began to clean herself, arranging her fur to her liking. Carson watched as Fancy moved away and his little mischievous mind began working. He moved as silently as possible backwards into a bush where he began sneaking around so that he was behind Fancy. He crept up behind her and waited, as quiet as possible.

"I can't possibly see life being dull with them in it that is for sure." Dhiren smiled. "Though if nothing unexpected happened I think life would be a lot less surprising and what fun is it knowing whats going to happen next?" A content sigh escaped him as he looked back to Shania from the trees, taking a moment to notice how well the white, gray, and black hues of her coat really brought out the multiple colors in her hair, giving her just the right amount of flare. Blinking and shaking himself slightly he brought his head from the clouds, grinning. " I often like searching for new things, wildlife or otherwise."

She searched the tree and those around it for the bird, finding nothing. "I don't see it," she said sadly, "but I will keep an eye out for such a bird. Perhaps it will show up some other time."
"What sorts of exciting things have you found?" she asked, interested in learning from him.
Fancy showed no interest in what the Soquili were talking about, lost in her own thoughts of getting clean. She licked her paw then wiped her face in a process only she knew of. Carson held his breath as he got as close as possible before leaping out of the bush, landing directly on top of the poor kitten. She yowled and hissed, scrambling to get out from under the raccoon. He had her pinned, laughing all the while. His laughter only infuriated the kitten even more and she struck out with claws, missing him only by milimeters. This caused him to cringe away from her giving her the perfect chance to squirm free. As soon as she was free, she ran, taking flight a second later. Carson, not wanting to let her get away so easy, quickly took off after her. Once again, their never ending game of chase had resumed.
Shania was startled at the abrupt yowling and squabbling coming from a few feet away. Before even looking she knew what it was. She sighed and looked towards them, calling softly, "Carson, PLEASE leave Fancy alone. That poor kitten has been through enough today." When neither of them heeded her words, she started towards them to break it up, but they took off before she even reached them.
She looked back towards Dhiren. "I'm so sorry for this, but I'm afraid I must go after them. Carson can get a little rowdy, and well, you know first hand what can happen to little Fancy." She frowned, sad that she had to leave already. "I do hope we meet again someday. It was quite pleasant to meet you, even under such odd circumstances."

Dhiren took a step toward Shania, not wanting to loose his wonderful company but understanding she had to go after her loved ones, he gave a courteous bow. "It was a pleasure to be in such wonderful company, if only for a short while." He raised his head, his gaze meeting hers and a charming lopsided grin lighting up his face. "I hope that you find your rascally, adorable friends and find them safe and sound." He looked off in the direction they had ran. "I do hope our paths cross again, sooner, rather than later..." His grin grew wider a he faced her again. "You should go after them, before they end up in more trouble than just getting all tangled up."

She returned his polite gesture with a bow of her own. "Thank you Dhiren. That would be nice to see you again." She gave him a warm smile and turning to go, she pulled her wings into her body. There wasn't enough room to fly and it would be better for her to stay on the ground to find the small creatures anyway. Giving him one last look, she took off. After a couple steps, her tail snagged on a root, causing her to pause for a second to pull it loose. Sometimes she despised her long hair. She made her way in the direction that Fancy and Carson had gone, hoping she could find them quickly.
As her eyes looked forward, searching, her mind dawdled, thinking of the magnificent stallion she had just left behind. She was somewhat saddened that this may be the last time she saw him. Little did she know, it was just the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
