Despite how Hel did pride herself on her physical skills in battle, she usually would boast that she had an excellent grasp on spell casting as well. Hey, she was a reaper after all, even if she was specifically a valkyrie. Usually.

The past couple of times Hel had cast her fatigue spell, it had been met with excellent results. She managed to land a spell on a Hunter, and managed to affect quite a few peers negatively for multiple battle turns. Sure, there was that one time she had accidentally buffed Invictus in their battle, but she had managed to make it last for more than one turn, and she had to give herself positive credit for that. Ever since advancing to Year Two as well, the spell grew stronger too, and that she took pride in.

The reaper headed out to the Examination grounds with her ‘assistant’ tucked under her arm – her Runic fox fire, Vili. It wouldn’t do if she didn’t have something to cast a fatigue spell on, after all, casting it on herself was called a back lash and that was not desired. She placed the fox fire down, and instructed him to sit, and he did like a good mini-pet, his tail wagging rapidly as his little blue-black tongue stuck out. She stepped a good distance away and summoned her spear, giving it a twirl before plating it firmly on the ground. A spell and hexes exam to help out the school…heh…this would be a great way to help!

As time would prove once again though, Hel shouldn’t have gotten over-confident in her abilities, even if it seemed like a simple exam.

She started to cast her spell, focusing intently on Vili, who just stared back at her with those black beady…eyes…so eager to do what his master wished…

Her concentration slipped as she released her fear to direct the spell at the fox fire. She felt it start to go forward, directing itself at the innocently sitting mini-pet, before it immediately made a U-Turn and unleashed itself right back at her. Hel staggered as her spell backlashed at her, her spear clattering to the ground as she immediately felt the trendils of fatigue start to crawl over her conscious.

Jack damn it.

The one time when it really mattered that she did well…she didn’t.

The ghoul fell to a knee as her eye lids felt heavy, and it was at this point at the easy going fox fire left his spot to come trotting over to his master. Oh, was it nap time? Vili liked naps! Vili, like Hel, just liked sleeping in general. Hel tried shaking off the fatigued, as nearly tempting as it was to just curl up right there on the ground…she gave a lazy wave, dismissing her spear. “Tch.” She wasn’t pleased, not one bit. As much as she tried to tell herself that at least she tried, it wasn’t good enough. She blinked as Vili started to lick her hand, and sat hunched like that for a moment longer before tiredly scooping the mini under an arm and shakily standing. She swayed for a moment before going to turn in her terrible results and then go visit Mot.

Still, she tried to make herself feel better…at least she didn’t do nothing to help out the Academy.

[Final Score: 2 (so pitiful)]
