"I am 48 and in the evening of my life but I will not slip quietly into the night." For those of you who do not know me very well in the last couple of years I have suffered a few personal tragedies and I left Florida and most of what I had known behind, to come to Montana. I confess I came here to wait out the end. I felt that this was a good place to die. But in the last year my soul has slowly healed. New surroundings, new friends, new job.. and quite frankly, you all. I won't lie, I'm sick. I figure that the odds of my living out the next year are about 50 - 50. But a lot of that is affected by attitude. The harder I fight for life the better the odds. So with your support and the support of the new friends I have here "I will not slip quietly into the night." I bring all of this up for the purpose of starting a discussion on this topic. There are those here who face horrible sicknesses, cancer and so on. I encourage you to share your experiences. We can't give you cures but we can lend an ear to listen. Fighting for your life is your best medicine. Then there are those who have bad home lives and conditions, we can listen to you too and offer encouragement. And finally to all the rest of you, please provide those ears, give encouragement, help the rest of us stand strong and please stand with me in proclaiming, "I Will Not Slip Quietly Into The Night!!"

I don't really have much to share but I'm always willing to listen.
