Tybalt regarded the meter with distaste. This thing. This tiny object was the one thing that was going to help them keep the school open. Well... that and all the students and their Fear abilities, if they chose to take the physical exam... But it could do the exact opposite too. If he happened to fail and/or miss completely, it would just be another excuse to put this school to an end.

He needed more time! But he had none! They had exactly twenty-four hours to prove themselves--to prove this school was worthy of staying open.

Which was not a lot of time in his opinion. Normally they were given a heads up before they took an exam. So that they could make time to prepare, study, practice before actually having to go through with this s**t! Why they had cut the time so short was beyond him. Then again, they were giving it all to put this school to an end. They didn't care what happened with them or anyone else. Their goal was the closure of the school, not looking after the younger generation. Hell, even if they did manage to pass this little test... the black dog was positive that they'd still look for another way to close it, but none of that mattered right now. What mattered now was completing his exam.

His exam... Oh Jack the pressure was enough to kill him a second time!

He needed to calm down. Panicking now wasn't going to do him any favors. In fact, it was likely to send him straight to Nurse Cricket's office! He had to keep a clear mind and concentrate! Otherwise, he was in for a nasty and painful experience.

The black dog bit his lower lip nervously, placing one hand out in front of him and using his other to brace it.

It was easier to fire his Fear in his natural form. Him having four legs to brace himself when unleashing all that raw uncontrolled power was much easier than the two he had now. Sadly, he highly doubted they'd be allowed to revert back to their natural forms for this. Not when they were all crowded around in a group and not when some of these students had massive forms to start with. No. He would have to make do with this form.

He began to concentrate. Willing all of his Fear into a single powerful mass, that began to build at the tips of his fingers.

He could feel it working. He could feel the Fear building up, slowly gathering together to form lightning.

Lightning... It was a deadly power. Uncontrollable, and deadly. A cold blooded killer that was likely to finish him off just as easily as it could someone else. There was no room for error.

He held his breath as the power continued to build. Building to the point that his hand shook and blue sparks formed and danced about, as they flew around his body wildly. He could barely keep it under his control now. It stung the longer he did, but he continued to hold onto it, refusing to let it go now. Not until it was ready.

A few seconds more and he felt physically exhausted.

Should he fire now? Or wait and build it up a little more. Maybe he should decrease the power? It was hard to tell, but holding onto it any longer could mean an explosion of Fear with re-coil so powerful, it could be worse than anything he had experienced before.

No. He had to let it go now.

His decision made, he released it and just like that, the lightning leaped from his hand in two simultaneous bolts; tearing through the air with a loud crack of thunder that reflected a loud roar.

It was neat to watch, the way they shot out like that, but the pain of having some of that same Fear turn on him like a two headed snake, made him think otherwise.

With a pained yelp, the black dog hit the ground, curling into a ball, as he watched the lightning shoot pass the intended target.

Just like that. He had failed. It was enough to make one curl up and die from shame and it was exactly the reason he needed the school to stay open... How was he ever supposed to improve if he wasn't going to learn from those who had already been teaching him? He was a half baked pumpkin right now and any Fear attempts he ever tried usually resulted in this! He harmed only himself and rarely ever his opponents. How was that supposed to help him? It was to the point that he was starting to use it only when times were dire and that was no way to go about using his Fear. Fear was there for their benefit, he shouldn't have to be afraid of it!

Visibly shaking, the black dog slowly got to his feet, only to slump back down and onto the ground and rest his head in his hands; teeth clenched together in a bitter snarl. Typical! Just Jack damned typical! The one thing he could do to give back to the school and he failed it miserably!
