It was time to take a different pet out of the house.
Right On was getting better with the whole sharing concept, finding it easier to gain Natalia's benign attention when he wasn't snapping his bone jaws at the other mini's who scrambled out of the closet. It was actually quite comforting for the monster, who wanted to take the Pathling with her where ever she went, but always feared for the safety of others if she did.. But because he had been doing so well, Natalia decided to leave him in her dorm room. With the others. All of them. "Muka, come!" Except for the tiny, pink Ulppa who came out from underneath her bed with a hiss. Muka was.. unique. A lovable little reptile no doubt, but not the brightest glow-worm in the box. And DEFINITELY not named after Muka who now went to the academy. This she would make clear to any who asked.
The reptiles days were usually spent staring at the ceiling on his back or rolling off of the bed from a nap.. and not waking up when he hit the ground. It was probably why Natalia enjoyed his company so much! He was carefree and so childlike, and a character that the monster could chuckle over and love on without worry that he might get jealous or try to attack someone if they got too close.
Muka slammed into the werelemur's feet as his name was called, staring at her with the sort of focus she would have expected from Right On.. or anyone besides the Ulppa. It lasted for a moment, a mid-night blue brow lifting with impress as she smiled wide and pushed some hair behind her ear. A long, purple tongue came oozing out of the lizard's mouth as the seconds ticked by, yellow eyes unblinking as he waited, unknowingly, for what was to come. Before Natalia spoke she reached for a harness that had been resting on her dresser and dangled it before her pet. "Do you want to go for a walkie?" the purr of her voice may have riled the reptile up more than the actual sentence, his mouth opening wide to release a strange "GWAAAAK" sound before wriggling his tail and bouncing up and down.
Right On released puffs of green smoke into the air angrily, watching as his owner and the strange newbie to the minipet lot exited the room. He was not pleased. But instead of ramming his antlers against the sheets again, he simply curled in place and tried to pass out.
Outside and some ways off campus Natalia and Muka found themselves wandering the streets of town. The shops and restaurants they passed were full of monsters and reapers and undeads of all types and ages, not the sort of situation the lemur was ready to expose Muka too but a sight for sore eyes nonetheless. Things had seemed kind of quiet as of late, particularly for the Amityville students who were going through a lot of unnecessary s**t right now. From the haunted house to their gym teachers death and everything in between; no one had been interested in escaping the confines of their dorm rooms in fear that something terrible might happen just outside of safety's reach.
Every corner the monster turned offered the same scenario, sifting through the crowds which lingered on the busy sidewalk with Muka yapping and jumping around at her heels. It wasn't until she made a sharp left and walked through an alleyway, ending up on a street she wasn't all too familiar with, that the ghoul found something worth approaching. The sounds which played through the air were captivating, the shake of purple hair and the quickness of skilled fingers luring her in. The boil at the corner looked vaguely familiar just as well, which might have been an even larger part of her initial approach. He was a student no doubt!
Muka was also wildly entranced by the melody, pulling at his leash to get in closer. The lemur obliged, tilting her head to one side as white cheeks lifted in a smile. "That's lovely!" She cooed once close enough, orange eyes fluttering as they bounced from the instrument in his hands to his face and back. He was handsome.. and quite the musician!
And they had never met?

Roch finished up his song, grinning as a few people tossed seeds into his hat--the hat that he never wore. He had established himself here, although it had taken longer than his usual spot in the slums. But people seemed more festive now that Halloween was no longer in sight. They were more willing to pause and listen to a kid play, perhaps toss a few seeds to make sure it was someone with talent hanging out instead of some random beggar.
But the tiny pink ulppa was what caught his attention as he scanned the crowd. He usually looked for scarelings, since they were the most likely to show how they felt about his music, and the ulppa was just... y'know, shorter.
"Hey lil guy," Roch said with a grin, crouching down in front of Muka and digging a FEAR candy out of his pocket to offer. He caught sight of the leash then, slowly following it with his eyes to the ghoul holding it. "Ah--sorry, you probably don't want strangers feeding your pet, huh?"

Natalia shook her head and lifted a hand to stop him. "Please, feel free. He has eaten far worse things than that." releasing a charming bit of laughter as the leash switched hands. She also brought herself a bit closer to the boil if only to put slack in the lead, the Ulppa's desperate attempt to reach the treat nearly choking him out.
But while her minipet was easily distracted, she kept her citrus gaze solely on the boil; trying to sift through all the memories she had of past events and field trips, only to quietly come to the conclusion that the other student was indeed a fresh face. A fresh, and rather welcoming face. "He seems to rather fond of you and your music!" the musing thought was made blatantly apparent as Muka surged forward to rub against the boil's pant leg. The monster's peripheral caught this with a smile. Yet, as she went to speak again, to introduce herself or to question who he was exactly, her lips pursed. "Oh dear, watch for the drool! He tends to secrete a lot of it!" Pointing a finger, at last shifting her attention away with the gesture, she straightened up quickly and attempted to lasso in her pet if only to keep him from salivating all over the place.
"Ugh! Muka please! Not on the strangers!"

Roch laughed as he handed over the treat, then proceeded to wipe the drool on his hands back on the ulppa. "Nah, it's fine. All my pets are too stuck up to show this much affection," he admitted with a grin at her. Crouching down, petting a pet, the punk looked extremely gentle in a strange way. "Ah... I ain't sure, but... do you go to Amity?" he asked curiously.
He might have seen her around, but he couldn't remember ever talking to her. Or even being close enough to see her face. It was just the purple that reminded him of something. "I'm Roch," he added a bit belatedly. "I'd offer to shake your hand, but--" he shrugged, since that one was self evident.

"I knew you were a student!" The monster blurted out, clapping her hands together once. She had seen him before, probably with Riley or one of the newer ghouls on campus. (or, rather new ghouls to Natalia) She just.. never bothered to approach him? Maybe? And she definitely didn't know he played instruments. In fact, the only boil she knew to play ANYTHING at all was Gabe, and he hadn't been seen for quite some time.
Otherwise, she might have been more inclined to introduce herself!
The Ulppa, in response to the attention he was getting, rolled onto it's back for a belly rub; the thin skin of his stomach exposed without a second thought. Natalia eyeballed Muka with a lifted brow, laughing again. Apparently, her little pink boy had taken a liking to the boil! "Ahh. Yes, my name is Natalia and I do attend Amityville Academy. Have been for about a year now, actually!" A pause lifted her gaze to meet with Roch's, shoulders shrugging. "I appreciate it. I like to keep my hands clean of his dribbles." She pulled out a handkerchief and extended it his way before continuing. "You know, I have have seen you around campus! I am surprise we have not met before now.. And I usually stick to this area to walk my pets, so I would think if you played out here often, I would have come across you at some point.."

"Well, see, I've only really moved to this corner recently," he told her with a shrug. "I'm more used to... a different atmosphere. But so far nobody's ran me off yet, so I guess I'm doin' alright." He rubbed the ulppa's belly, scratching lightly. "Its either work the streets or go to work for my granddad, which... well, I can't say it ain't tempting when its cold like this."
In fact he'd gotten a text from the old guy the other day inviting him to work for some real money for once. He'd have to talk to Rikki first, though. And maybe Mot, now that the boil and Vegas weren't quite at each others throats anymore.
He stood, taking the handkerchief and wiping his hand on it. "But it's about dinner time, um..." There were food carts just a street down, and he often got fed for free if he played a song or two for the booth. "You're welcome to tag along if you want?" he offered. "I'm just goin' to the food carts, though."

She looked intrigued, tilting her head to one side before narrowing her gaze. "A different atmosphere?" Well that just sounded odd! "Like.. in parks instead of street corners?" Natalia looked genuinely curious, if not a bit confused.
But as the conversation moved along so did she with a dismissive sigh. A hand rose again to gesture toward his own, nodding her head as if in agreement. "You should go work for him! I mean, if things are not tense and awkward or something.. It is too cold to be outside playing without gloves at this time of year!" And while the monster didn't play any instruments, she knew just how difficult it must be to TRY and strum guitar strings with thick mittens on.
As Roch gestured toward the food carts, the werelemur followed his hand and blinked several times. Hrm.. did she want to eat now? Was she hungry? Not particularly, but the monster was also not exactly ready to leave the boil's side. This was fun! Getting to know new people, becoming friends and all of that good stuff. Plus, the Ulppa had righted himself onto all fours and was looking the carts as well.. guess the winds had shifted in his favor. "Sure, why not? Are you going to be okay though, it really is cold.." She waited for Roch to start before following in suit.
"So how old are you, if you do not mind me asking?" Because small talk was always a great way to keep conversations going.

"Sixteen," he said as he waved to the cart owners. "Who's willing to feed me tonight?" he called to them.
"Boil, you play with me I'll give you two corndogs loaded!" one of the men called back.
"Ick, hotdogs," Roch said, making a face. "Do I got another bid?"
"Two slices of pizza!" the pizza guy called.
"Make it four and you got me for... an hour!" Roch called back.
"Deal!"
Roch grinned at Natalia. "You like pizza?" he asked as he headed for the cart in question. "These guys get seriously bored out here, other than working. So I can usually get a good deal." He took the plate he was offered and grabbed the top slice, practically inhaling it.

Sixteen? So young..
Watching as the boil put his talents on the market, Natalia couldn't help but chuckle. Muka was gurgling and spitting up excitedly, rather enjoying the loud voices going back and forth. "I do, actually!" She at last managed to murmur. "But.. I am not all that hungry right now. It would probably go to that little guy down there." Glancing to the sidewalk at the pathetic Ulppa's attempts to beg, she shook her head of blue out. "Go ahead and eat up, I am sure you will need the energy more than him."
"I am sure they do, I would get pretty bored too! She then turned and strolled some ways down the sidewalk, finding a place on the curb to sit. Muka trudged along slowly after, tugging in the opposite direction every once in a while attempting to return to the food carriers. "But if you do not mind, I think I will stick around to hear an encore?" Taking her long, bi-colored tail and wrapping it around her twice, the ghoul got as comfortable as she could before looking over to Roch expectantly.
"What will you be playing for them today?" Clasping her hands together on top of bent knee's.

The best part about the food carts? They were warm. He stood next to the hot baking oven and warmed up his hands for a bit as he thought about what to play. She was right, though, a little part of his mind said, he should go work for his granddad once in a while. "Hmmm... I think I'll start with Bulldog Bite," he told her, pulling his guitar into place and starting to play. He seemed to enjoy this life of peddling on the street, though. The boil looked to make friends quickly and easily, thanks to his art and personality. You almost got the feeling that the venders would have fed him anyways.

"Bulldog bite?!" The ghoul repeated in a gasp, tapping her forefingers together in perhaps the laziest attempt to clap ever. "Sounds feisty! Do you like the sound of that?" She leaned over to look at Muka, but he was stretched out to the very end of his rope and still pushing to get to those carts. Natalia couldn't help but sigh in slight disapproval, laugh a bit at his expense, and then fall extremely silent as Roch began to play.
...And boy could that kid play...
It started with her feet bouncing in tempo with the beat, music rocking her body forward and back rhythmically. It ended with Natalia upright, swinging her hips and twirling along the sidewalk with passerby's who had stopped to listen just as well. The ulppa at the end of its leash was being dragged along, only somewhat surprised by his masters antics, as the ghoul hooted and danced away; not at all worried that she might be making a fool out of herself. When the song came to its close Natalia snuggled into expertly-waved tail momentarily before turning to face the reaper boil.
Her expression would have said it all, but Natalia would not be Natalia if she didn't yell her approval. "WOW! That was amazing! I am honestly impressed!" Those surrounding them seemed to agree, a roaring applause following soon after the melody ended.

He gave her a grin, shamelessly soaking up the praise. "Well I was practically born with a guitar in my hand," he said, taking the snack the guy at the stand next to him offered and munching happily. "What about you? Do you play anything?"
He finished up his little snack and wiped his hands off on the paper towel, tossing it into the trash and starting up a quieter, slower song so she could talk if she wanted.

"It shows~!" Shuffling closer, the monster threw herself onto the sidewalk once again rocking ever so slightly with the music he played. "I am not half bad on the piano, but other than that no I do not play any instruments." Not often enough, anyway. It wouldn't be a terrible idea to do so of course, seeing how attention fell on the boil even after the song had ended and the tempo changed. Ghouls and boils alike would have thrown themselves at her feet if she knew just how to pluck the guitar like Roch.. It would have come in handy at some point.
Now however, the only person she wanted vying for her attention was Whisper. "You have quite the way with people as well, I see. Playful yet mature, and for your age that is also very impressive." Natalia made it out to seem as if she were some old and wise individual with years of experience, meanwhile she mumbled and fussed with Muka in her lap, and had danced along the street with complete strangers like a child. Once he settled, she offered the reaper a cockeyed grin. "Do you ever play on campus? I am sure the ghouls would go wild over you!" If they didn't already.

"Yeah, right," he said with a laugh. "Nope, afraid I'm not that great when it comes to gettin' ghouls, guitar or not," he admitted, shrugging. "I sort of... fail." To put it simply. "But hell, I got my Desiree, y'know? That's all a guy really needs."
He looked down at his guitar with a look of adoration. "No better scythe in the world, if you ask me."

The ghoul grew to be unnaturally still, features narrowing with suspicion first before widening with realization. A single white finger shakily rose from the lizard in her lap and pointed toward the guitar Roch admired, scrunching her nose once again to a comment made. "You?...Desiree?...That?" For a moment she even looked to be holding her breath, gesturing with a wiggle of her appendage.
But the facade crumbled as the monster threw her head back and began to laugh. "Oh honey you just lack experience is all! Trust me, with a face like yours, you could be winning over hearts easily." Jumping to her feet, consequently sending Muka flailing to the sidewalk, Natalia took a few steps to bring herself directly in front of the boil, looking him in the face before sending her sights south. "Do not try to fool yourself. You have two instruments to take care of, and one of them has some very unique needs of its own." All the while her smile grew, dark blue hair hiding the wild look that was slowly coming across her face. Stretching a hand out, the monster attempted to strum her fingers against the strings of his guitar, shrugging a shoulder casually.
Perhaps he could be another project for her to obsess over! Because oh how Natalia LOVED to play dress-up! Especially with boils...
"Why do you think you cannot get the ghoul?" Of course she didn't mean anyone in particular...Tilting her head to look Roch in the eyes again, Natalia widened the space between them and shifted her weight onto one hip.
