The Place: Opimus Fellah's Farm

The Prompt: So a mega-rock star-wannabe and a country bumpkin walk into a bar...
No, wait, that's not right..

Sure as Hell wish there was a bar though. Cuz a bar would mean being somewhere near actual civilisation. How is that relevant, you ask? Well, thanks to an overly sensitive bus driver and a few annoyed bus riders who can't take a joke, Talymn ended up being nowhere near it. Fortunately though, he came across this quaint little farm, with a quaint little house, and- most importantly- a quaint little mode of transportation.

The question now is... "Can I get a ride?"

So everything comes full-circle.

Glad we could clear that up. Enjoy the show.

(I am apparently running on Valve time...)

Bhmmmmmmm

Ivory wings flashed and glinted under the pale moonlight tirelessly. With a slight tilt, the giant dragonfly zipped up and about, constantly changing altitude and direction, scanning every which way for any sign of an attacker or a snack for its sake and the sake of its less aerially-adaptable counter-part. The lusus wasn't having any luck on both ends instead, finding something just as curious. Rising smoke gave hints to a small settlement across a wide field of tall wheat. With all the complaining his charge was going on about earlier, perhaps this was a sign of changing luck. With a sharp dive, the lusus came to hovering just a few feet above the shaggy-haired troll it deigned as his charge, much to the troll's annoyance.

That ever winding road
where it leads, he shalt follow

Bhmmmmmmmm

For sights unseen
and tales unheard- Oh~!
It's the bard's way~!

Bhmmmmmmm

Life of hardship, life of leisure-

Bhmmmmmmmmm

Life of endeavors and life of... life of...

"Will you stop buzzin' so close t'me alrea'y?! By the Gods o' Rock, mate! Yer ruinin' my train o' thought!" Talymn growled, swatting up at his lusus. The monster snapped his mandibles in reply, and then smacked him upside the back of his head with the flat side of his tail. "Oye! Wot was that fer?!" Talymn recoiled, rubbing his head.

BHMMMMMMMM!

The lusus sounded back before buzzing off through the field, flying low enough for the troll to easily follow after him. Talymn wasted no time in taking the monster's lead, grumbling all the while until the sight of a farm house came into view. Low blood no doubt... ha... this shouldn't be so bad! He may as well have stumbled across a gold mine just then as he bounded forward with an excited shout of relief.

"Oye-oye-oye! Anybody 'ome?! 'Alloooooo!" he hailed as he approached the quaint hovel of a hive, "Olly-olly-oxen free! Or whate'er! Ya got yerself a visitor waitin' out 'ere'!" And a damn important one at that.

It had been a fairly quiet night for Opimus Fellah. The redblood had finished his work rather early; he had just planted a new batch of crops a while ago so there was not much tending as of late other than watering and picking a few weeds here and there. He had gotten some free time and so he worked adamantly on one of his dating simulators that had held his attention for the past week or so. He still couldn't choose which of the trolls he wanted to pursue in the game, it was one of the more in depth ones he had gotten a chance to play.
However the night had gone on and soon it was the early morning hours and Fellah's stomach started to rumble, signally the troll to stop lazing about and go make supper. There was still plenty left from his last harvest so for the last few nights the rustblood had been doing his other favorite pastime; stuffing himself. He wasn't a gourmet chef by but he could still cook up a good homemade meal and plenty enough of it to suit a king.
He was going about the pots on the stove bringing them down to a simmer since the stews were almost ready when he heard the knock coming from his front door. It wasn't often that he got visitors so Fellah was curious as he approached the front of his hive. The massive troll finally opened the front door as the impatient one outside waited anxiously.
"Why hello there!" he said with a broad grin. It was always fun to run across new trolls and if nothing else Fellah sure was hospitable, "What're ya doing way out here in the plains?" he wondered just what brought this newcomer so far away from the city, "Come on in buddy ya gotta be tired, by the way the name is Opimus Fellah, you can just call me Fellah though if ya like," he said stepping aside to let the other and his lusus in. He extended a friendly hand in greetings to the visitor.

The moment that door gave way to the farmer’s presence, Talymn had to take a few steps back to fully appreciate scenario. Everything about the guy just seemed so perfectly quaint and simplistic- from that curious but genuine smile to the unkempt overalls- the city troll could hardly believe such a persona actually existed. The stereotypes have t’originate somewhere…but this guy… hobey..

”Ha… Good t’meet ya, Feller!” He replied back with just as big of a smile as the one that he was given. “An’ troll, wouldn’t ya know et! Didn’t think I’d find anybody out ‘ere fer miles t’come.” Stepping back up towards the door, he grasped the farmer’s hand and gave it a firm shake before stepping in through the threshold, taking his first look around, even giving the giant hoofbeast an acknowledging nod.”Talymn Vylius, pleasure’s all yers! An’ wotset that I’m smellin’ cuz et smells wicked tasty… Ah, don’t tell me I juss’ bugged in durin’ the middle o’ a meal? Cor…”

As Talymn looked off in the direction of where the aroma of food was drifting off from, his lusus sidled in next to him, giving off a series of clicks in a tone of what could be taken to mean satisfaction of their current predicament.
