It had been a rather busy few days.
Hel ended up sending Mot a text saying they should probably push the taste testing off for a few days because quite a few…battles happened to spring up on the ghoul. Not that she was complaining in the slightest, and while it did irk her to push off more time with Mot, she wanted to be wholly prepared for it too. She finally did get all her groceries, and then in the span of those few days ended up battling over four different students…one of which had sprained her left arm.
She was mighty proud of Mitsu for that.
Now, on the day they agreed to meet up, Hel had woken up early to start preparing all the food. It was made more difficult because she had one good hand, though that didn’t stop her from trying to hold food while she cut it with the broken arm. Also as a result, by the time she was done chopping, her fingers were littered with scratches and band aids a little blood in the food never hurt anyone. Regardless, through sheer will power and determination, it was done. Hel stared at her kitchen counter, which was covered in all sorts of different plates and dishes, feel rather proud (but anxious) as well.

Mot had seen his own share of battles in the days since, but hadn't quite broken anything like Hel had.
He just, you know, was knocked out cold by several peers.
Regardless, Mot was pleased and eager to meet with Hel again, taking with him the piggle rinds that had been mysteriously left with him after his battle with West. The bag in on hand, Mot knocked on Hel's door before stepping in. The aroma immediately swept over him, a mixture of many different dishes in the air. Part of him loved it, the other part wanted to throw up. Still, he was slowly getting over this dislike of food. All for Hel.
He smiled brightly once he saw her, flashing the ghoul a grin. "Hel! I'm so glad to see yo---your arm?!"

Hel’s attention turned from the counter to her door as she heard the knock and then saw it swing open. She smiled brightly as well as she was greeted by the sight of the cowboil and padded out from the kitchen, waggling her band aided fingers at him. “I did not get anything into the food I swe—Oh!” Wait. Hel looked down at her bandaged and splinted arm. Oh yeah…that one. Not her fingers.
She looked back up at Mot, grinning excitedly. “I know! I battled with Mitsu! She’s gotten much, much stronger.” The reaper cooed proudly, looking down at her arm with a fond expression once more before looking back at Mot. “It’s all ready, come, come!” She reached out with her good hand and grasped one of his, even though the journey to the kitchen was rather short, and she gestures to one of the stools at the counter. “Our seats!”

Mot seemed worried, even if Hel wasn't. Sure, she seemed fine, and the wound was seen to. The fact remained Hel had broken an arm. She also seemed.. proud of it. But every inch of him screamed I MUST FUSS.
"S-so that was from Mitsu?" Mot thought back to how scared she'd made him that one night. "She is uh.. certainly improving herself.." Mot would not mention she scared him enough to make him black out. No one needed to know that.
He let himself be led to the kitchen, admiring the array of food prepared. He sat down, staring back at Hel with a worried expression. "You made all of this with one hand? Doesn't it hurt? Do.. you need anything? I can get you something." Mot said, almost getting himself right back up again.

Secretly, Hel found it adorable and was rather touched that Mot was fussing over her, but she was alright, really!
"Yes!" Hel confirmed with a firm nod of her head. "And I agree! She certainly is. That pure, raw strength of hers is amazing, and once she`s able to master it, she shall be a force to be reckoned with! Not that she`s not already...Heh. You know what I mean." As the cowboil sat down and then seemed to try and get right back up, Hel planted a hand on his shoulder to keep him seated, and couldn`t help but blush lightly from the concern he was showing for her.
"Ah...I did...um...nooo...it does not hurt." Oh it did, but she wasn`t about to admit to that. The ghoul smiled down at him widely. "It is alright Mot, really! I am most excited to try and find you some new food to enjoy!"

Raw strength? Oh dear...
Mot stayed seated, eyeing the ghoul's arm worriedly. He wanted to touch it, but thought better of it. That might just make it hurt more. Yes, he didn't believe Hel when she said it didn't hurt.
He gave the ghoul a smile, then turned to the buffet laid before him. Oh boy.. this was a whole new territory he was not entirely comfortable with. However, it was steps to improve, however small the improvement would be. The aromas were overwhelming, but the reaper could pick out some scents that actually did smell good as compared to others. Forever a picky eater.
"You really did an amazing job. It must have taken you a long time." What to try first? He was feeling a mixture of apprehensive and curious. "What's this one?"

Hel just beamed at his compliment, obviously rather pleased and proud of herself. She took a seat on the stool next to him, and poured them some apple cider as well, looking over to the dish Mot asked about first. “Ah! That is chicken scaloppini with a lemon glaze…” All of these new dishes she learned from her mother over her few weeks home, and she pointed at the dishes around that one as well. “Those are crescent chicken squares, they are filled with onion, cream cheese and chicken, obviously…and those are roasted garlic mashed potatoes…” Good thing they weren’t vampires. “Those are cheddar scalloped potatoes, and that Is black pepper steak in a mushroom cream sauce.”
It should also be noted that there were still many other dishes she didn’t point out yet.

Scalp-whati? Mot raised a brow at the names, eyes drifting from one chicken dish to another, hovering over the mushy stuff that was called potatoes. It wasn't that he'd never seen meals like these, it was more that he'd never had to eat them himself. Save for the times his mother decided to force some actual food down his throat. The garlic made him feel queasy, the potatoes he seemed unsure of.
The last item she mentioned had his attention longer. It actually looked and smelled... really good. Maybe.. maybe it would taste just as good.
Cautiously, the picky eater took some utensils to cut a small piece of the steak. He brought it close, looking over it for a while, then finally made himself stuff the morsel in his mouth.
He chewed for some time.
"Mmm.." Mot swallowed the steak, licking his lips. "That one is really good."

Hel held her mug of apple cider with one hand as she watched Mot take in the food and then actually try some. Luckily the valkyrie didn’t seem put off by the cowboil’s pickiness. If anything, it just made her more determined to try and find more dishes that he’d enjoy. She did grin widely though as he tried the steak and declared that he liked it.
The ghoul leaned closer towards him. “Ya? I’m really glad!” Maybe she should make him more dishes that had steak in it then! It was something to keep in mind. “There are a few more different steak dishes here if you want to try those!”

Mot looked to the side as Hel leaned in, smiling down at the ghoul then to the other steak dishes set out. Hel liked it when Mot took care of himself, and eating mre seemed to be a step toward that goal. The reaper bit his lip and cut a piece of another dish, taking a weary bite of that as well.
It was official: Mot really enjoyed red meat.
The reaper was almost excited to try more. He wasn't sure what it was, but eating Hel's cooking was addictive. With a little less hesitation, Mot tried one dish after another, keeping an even pace, and only fussing once in a while. Soon enough, he'd had at least a nibble of one of everything. Some things he loved, others he seemed to have trouble swallowing, as if the taste repulsed his senses.

Hel, oddly enough, just fell silent as she watched Mot try all the dishes. She rested her head in her hand and just…kept on watching the cowboil eat with a …slightly dreamy look in her eye? What?
The reaper was still taking serious note of what Mot really seemed to like and not seemed to like. The preference for steak was noted, and the side dishes he liked as well. Once he tried a bit of everything, the ghoul was grinning from ear to ear, her chin resting in her hand as her expression fell into one of lidded contentment. The valkyrie was just beside herself with joy as her dual gaze swept over all the dishes that had a bite taken out of them. “I am so happy!” She announced after a moment. “This went better than I expected! What did you think?”

Hel seemed so happy, it made Mot happy. Her smile was infectious to the cowboil, making him smile widely in return. He had no idea she'd been watching him eat with such fascination.
"What did I think? Well, there were things I liked and didn't like. And honestly, now I feel a bit sluggish from eating so much." He said with a chuckle, rubbing his stomach. "Don't think I'll be doing that again any time soon." Hopefully he didn't get sick. That's just make him hate food all over again.

Hel nodded her head enthusiastically, and gave a small laugh. “Ah, yes, I think you have consumed more than you usually do ~ !” The reaper nearly wanted to clap, but then she did remember that one of her arms was broken. “Heh…this was the first time…and now I have a better idea of what kind of dishes to make, so the focus will be narrow the next time we do this!” Hel was still just…beaming.
“Ah, most excellent…” She mused, tapping a finger against her chin, before reaching over for one of the glazed chicken dishes where they were on skewers and grabbed one. She popped a piece of chicken into her mouth. “Ah…I haven’t eaten since I got up!” She grinned and finished off the skewer.

"Not for the whole day?" Mot said worriedly. His attention went back to her arm again, his hands wringing together. "Um.. there must be some way I can help you. Oh! I'll do the dishes for you!" He smiled widely, expectantly. Please let me help you, it said.

“Naut oontull nao.” Hel replied with a mouthful of scalloped potatoes.
She noted Mot wringing his hands again, and reached out with her hand to grasp at one of his hands to get him to stop. She held onto his hand, blinking at his expression. It’s not that she didn’t want his help…it was just that…she wanted to take care of him…always. Even now. Hel gave a shake of her head, laughing a bit. “No, no, this was my idea for you, it would not be right to have you do dishes for something I wanted.”
Apparently Mot was going to have to fight if he wanted to help.
