Adjusting to the school was going fairly well now that Yǐn Cáng was beginning to establish a routine. Up in the mornings, stretches, Tai Chi, breakfast, go for a run, cool-down with a walk to the gym, find an open training dummy, work on techniques, shower, lunch, find some way to work off energy or check on school things, dinner, do light exercises and stretches, sleep.
It was not a terribly imaginative schedule, but unless something came up to disturb it was his schedule, and no one was forcing him to follow it. It had been his schedule for the past two days, and so far he had enjoyed it. These were his thoughts as he set off toward the gym, deciding to speed up to a jog and losing himself to the steady rhythm as he concentrated on keeping his form perfect.

Danny had the same idea in mind, but for different reasons. She was going there to fight. Ever since getting back home, having her wings all weak and sore; it made a ghoul restless. Danny was the most restless of all ghouls as it was, and restless plus restless was a ball of energy waiting to explode.
Which is exactly what she did. Danny went bolting out of her dorm room the second she realized she could move without an ounce of pain from her wings, and skidded down the sidewalk towards the gym.
Right into the back side of a student she hadn't seen before. Barreled right into him. Before she could even say anything, she was smacking into his backside.

Being caught in mid-stride made not falling impossible. Yǐn Cáng fell forward, arms automatically pulling up to break his fall, spreading the impact along his palms and forearms and turning his head to the side to avoid a full face-plant.
"You should watch where you are going," he snapped, irritated after his fall. Then he actually looked to his attacker and his heart stopped, horrified. He had just said that to a female. "M-my apologies," he stuttered and cringed, waiting for her rebuke.

Danny was sitting directly on top of the boil who had just collapsed underneath her. Wow her landing was cushy. Lucky!
Still, Danny knew from Roch that if she stayed on very long, she would soon be pushed off and yelled at. Well maybe only Roch did that, but she didn't want to take any chances. She stood up with a little grunt to her movement and brushed herself off.
"Whoops," she said, "Didn't see ya there." Looks like he was apologizing too. Danny nodded and threw a hand out to help. "Hi I'm Danny," she announced, though no one asked for an introduction, "Need some help?" She smiled amiably. Maybe this guy was a friend! He looked kind of scared of something though. Was her knob level really that powerful?

Danny sounded like a boil name to Yǐn Cáng, and although the voice was feminine he could not help but take a second look. Definitely female. In looking though he noticed her hand held out to him. One of those.
"Pardon me Mistress Danny," he said as he pushed himself off the ground and rose, eyes cast downwards to avoid looking into her eyes. "I apologize if it offends you but I shall not be kissing your hand." Oh he had seen many like her, ghouls loving to flaunt their superiority and force boils to grovel and kiss their hands and fawn over them. But that was one practice he had never liked, and seeing as she had ran into him he was feeling just rebellious enough to to tell her no.

Danny stared at him. And stared s'more.
Her nose scrunched up at the title "mistress." It reminded her too much of her week at Oersted's. Blech. "Why would you kiss my hand?" she said, pulling her hand up and looking at it.
According to Nahm, you only kissed someone when you really liked them. It wasn't checking for sugar, it was "kissing." Right. Danny remembered that much. So then did that mean ...
Danny looked up, shocked. "Are you in love with my hand?!" she shouted, far too loudly. They were definitely going to get some looks soon. As if bowling him over wasn't enough, Danny was going to embarrass him on accident to boot.

The one thing that you never did to a ghoul was upset her. You never made her angry, and you certainly never made one cry. So while it was the lesser of two evils, Yǐn Cáng had just angered a ghoul.
So much for being rebellious.
He cringed back, drawing his arms up to his chest protectively and hunching even more. If he had had a tail it would have been firmly tucked between his legs. Still, answering questions was on the definite "you will do this" list when it came to ghouls, and so he forced himself to answer, voice quiet and full of remorse.
"N-no Mistress Danny. I assumed that that is what you wished when you held out your hand. My apologies if I seemed forward, it was not my intention."

Danny made a face the second time he said 'Mistress,' but didn't say anything. It was more of an instinct to just grimace at the name; she didn't actually care what people called her on the surface.
Her grimace quickly turned into a smile and then a giggle. She socked the boil in a friendly way and said, "You're so weird!" She laughed again and then with a more serious face said, "but I like you. Whas your name?"
Seriously, who fell in love with a hand?

The weremantis almost forgot to breathe as his heart almost stopped beating. His worst fear was being realized, and so soon after arriving at the school. Weird was good. He liked weird. He could even stand there and take a ghoul punching him for weird.
Having a female declare favor towards him was not so good.
"Yǐn Cáng," he answered almost immediately. "But truly, there is no need for you to like me. I am sure there are much better people here for you to like." He began to glance from side to side, almost as if he was looking for someone to throw at the ghoul so he could have a chance to escape. But at least she was not made anymore, though it would have been better than her liking him.

Danny waved her hands quickly and said, "No, no, no." She put her hand behind her head awkwardly and said, "I ... I think I have someone I like. I'm not really sure." She definitely liked Rikki, but wasn't really sure how to break it to him. That'd probably be odd to talk about to a complete stranger though.
Gosh this boil seemed to fall in love fast. First her hand, then her ... well the whole thing.
"Aaaaanyways. Yǐn Cáng we'll be friends okay? Okay." He could've declined til the cows came home, but Danny's mind was already made up (and that mean his mind was made up for him). They were now friends.

She had someone she liked. She had someone she liked? Such happy news! Yǐn Cáng straightened up a bit more, no longer hunching down like a kicked puppy. When Danny decided that they were friends she truly did decide for the both of them, he was not going to argue with the ghoul about that.
Feeling quite a bit better about the whole idea of the ghoul now that she seemed to prefer someone over himself he could not help but ask her a question, especially since it would give him peace of mind to know. "Is your someone a ghoul or a boil?" If it was a ghoul he might need to worry still, as she would be well within her rights to have a ghoul and still a favorite boil to keep at her beck and call. But it if was a boil he just had to make sure she stayed attached to him, and he would be home free.

Well he didn't reject the idea of friends, so obviously he liked it. Danny was pretty content with that. She could always use more friends. She wanted to become friends with all the things. ALL THE THINGS. Except Edel. Edel could suck it.
"Boil!" she said very matter-of-factly. She wasn't embarrassed or blushing at all; it was just a simple fact after all. This boil seemed very concerned with love. Maybe he was in that love squad thing with Xiu! Danny looked him up and down. No, probably not.
She continued talking though, happy to listen to the sound of her not-so-melodious voice. "What about you? I bet you're single 'cause you're falling in love with stuff all the time." Danny really didn't mean it in a rude way. She was just connecting dots! Actually, she was rather proud of her deduction. A real Scarelock Bones!

Boil. A sweeter word had never been spoken, at least, not to Yǐn Cáng's ears. She seemed to be pretty confident about this, so it would be easy to make sure that things kept the status quo.
"He must be a very lucky boil to receive your attention," he said politely, trying to be nice. "I am," he paused for a moment to think of a diplomatic way to answer. "I am not looking to be chosen." He simply ignored the last part, the ghoul seemed to like to make things up, and he had no idea of how to address the falsehood that he fell in love with "stuff" all the time.

Danny shook her hands again. This boil seemed to misunderstand. Then again, so did she. "N-No! I like him, I d-don't think he likes me yet." Even the little thought of Rikki liking her back sent moths tumbling all over her stomach. NOW she was blushing.
Thankfully the boil seemed to provide an easier subject for her. "Well you don't get chosen. You go look for it." Oddly ironic advice considering she still hadn't confessed to her object of interest. "I don't think you get chosen either," she was already deep in thought, "I think it just kinda happens." Very deep Danny, very deep.
Attempting to change their conversation, Danny shook her head and said, "S-so where ya headed?"

Yǐn Cáng allowed his eyes to flick up to her face, wanting to get a decent look at who he was talking to. She was oddly red, perhaps the fire her tail seemed to have had overheated her. Thankfully she was distracted, and he took the time to consider just how peculiar this ghoul was. Well yes, a boil may go out and look for attention, but he was always chosen. He may influence the choice, but it was not something he could do himself.
Still, he was loathe to contradict a female, especially one that seemed to be in a good mood. You never knew when one could have a change of heart and bite your head off. Figuratively of course.
"I typically walk to the gym after my preliminary stretches and exercises to finish my morning training, though if you need me to escort you somewhere I am available." That did not mean he wished to, but he had escorted worst females in his day. Bold from his earlier remarks he hazard to speak again, not as willing as Danny to let the subject change.
"If you like him you should simply mark him as your own. Then no one else would dare lay claim to you and I have heard that many boils grow to like the ghouls that forcefully claim them."
