 Hill-Strider was completely, utterly, hopelessly lost… and she loved it. She had wandered deep into the swamp without marking her way or even attempting to keep track of her surroundings. She wanted to get lost, to experience the thrill of starting fresh, of finding a new place to sleep each night and finding food and water through sheer luck.
Speaking of water, she had just come across a lovely stream, and was eagerly sipping. A tiny fish, too small to even make a snack of, brushed boldly across her nose, causing her to snort in surprise. She pulled her muzzle from the water to gleefully watch it flit about. Even small things such as this made her heart leap with joy. The newness of it all enchanted her.
“What a wonderful place.” She spoke softly, and frowned a bit as the noise startled her little fish friend away. “Oh, wait! Crocguts…”
She smacked the water a bit with one of her front hooves, then glanced around the area, her frown disappearing as fast as it came. It WAS just a fish after all, and had it been any bigger it would’ve been lunch as well. She took off once more, following the stream up and keeping her eye on the water for any more morsels.

 The stream was nothing special to Wave-Strike -- she had merely stumbled upon it in her wanderings and stopped to drink from the crisp, clean water. Still, the sound of a voice from downstream was a surprise, and she looked up suddenly to see the Kiokote traipsing towards her.
"What 'ave we 'ere?" Crash murmured to herself, eyeing the doe as she approached and finding she liked what she saw. "A kiokote this far from the plains...an' a lovely lookin' one at that." The kimeti grinned and took a few steps out into the sunlight so she would be easier to spot.
"Hello there, friend!" Crash called to the kiokote, her blue tail swaying back and forth in a wide arc behind her. "What brings you to this part of the swamp?"

Hill had been oblivious to the fact that the lovely silver and blue doe was nearby, but when she stepped forward and called out a greeting, the kiokote fem beamed, trotting towards her.
"Hullo!" And surely she was a friend, this new doe, and a strikingly handsome one at that. What a lovely blue color she had, and the marks on her muzzle drew Hill in and made her stare for longer than she really needed to - even if she liked it.
"Oh, I wander." She replied, more focused on the other female than on the question. "I get myself lost in the swamp, find new places every day. It's fun."
"I'm Hill-Strider, by the way." She said after a few moments, finally breaking her stare and shooting the doe a smile. "You can call me Hill."

Wave-Strike didn't miss the appreciative way the kiokote doe looked at her -- she was usually the one giving that look, and to be on the receiving end of it for once was rather pleasant. With a knowing smirk, Crash took a few steps closer to the other doe.
"I'm Wave-Strike. It's nice t' meetcha, Hill. You can call me Crash." Her tail still swung slowly side to side, its arc smaller now. "It's been a while since I've been outside'a this area...have ya found anythin' interestin' in your wand'rins?"

"Oh, bits and pieces." Hill replied, pleased that she was drawing closer. She had certainly found something interesting just now.
"A couple of nice warm caves, a clearing with some lovely clover for grazing, and a pair of trees that have grown themselves together." She continued, tail matching the pace of Crash's own. They were all beautiful places, and an idea grabbed hold of her. Perhaps she could get more time with this lovely doe if they went off and explored some areas together?
"They're all quite gorgeous. I can show you them if you'd like. Just take your pick."

Crash couldn't help but grin at the kiokote knowingly. "Quite gorgeous 'ndeed," she replied with a flick of her ear, clearly meaning more than the scenery."I'd be more'n happy t'see some'a these wonders you've come across," she continued hopefully. "Per'aps starting with that clearin' of clover? I'm a mite peckish, and..." Crash looked to the sky, gauging the height of the sun, "...there's plenty time left till nightfall for adventurin, if you're willing."

"I'm willing." She beamed, and started out towards the south. While she didn't tend to keep track of where she had been, this particular clearing had stuck out in her mind, and she was grateful to her memory for having kept its location stored safely.
It wouldn't take long for them to reach, and Hill was glad, as her stomach was beginning to rumble as well. Ignoring the feeling, she sidled up next to Crash as they walked, occasionally glancing over at her and grinning.
"Takes a bit to hunt up the clover patches, but I'm sure you'll be pleased. There's plenty for a couple of good meals."
