sheet of paper the sun may rise the sun may set but Halloween never surrenders never forgets Clutched in the hands of a particular half beast was a sheet of paper in which students may have seen (or may not have) scattered around the school grounds. Some blew in from the trash others may have been used as scrap sheets of paper for jotting down ghouls phone numbers... but Bul used his for none of this. What interested him most was the random jumble on the back.
Without his desktop it might've read something like "A Balance Dozes Huh Sunup".
Bul narrowed his eyes when he stepped out of his dorm, debating whether or not to bring his red cloak now that it had become an item of suspicion under the Boogeymen. Sighing heavily he decided it was safest to leave it in his room. He knew where he was going, it was only a matter of who he would be meeting there. Checking to make sure he had enough bars on his yellphone he kept a hand on it at all times in his pocket as he locked his door, and slowly creeped through the monster dorms to the unfamiliar and chilly basement he so loved to be around and cautiously preened around the door.
If there were hunters about, they would have a marvelously hard time navigating OUT of the monster dorms and even then Bul could create some sort of spectacle of noise. For now he was confident that if anything a quick call to the few names at the top of his contacts list was enough to get him some backup. At the risk of causing a fuss Bul chose to avoid rounding up students for this meeting. If there was one thing he was unsure of it was where the TOTers like Nox stood and the very powerful but questionable alliance of the horsemen.
For now he would wait.

A red cloaked figure waited in the room, feet propped up on the table, a copy of Playboil in their hands. "Bout jackdamn time one of you showed up," grumbled Noxious Firth, tilting his head as he turned the page to the centerfold. "Nice."

Bul inclined his head at the familiar voice determining it was safe to enter - prompty shutting the door behind him with care.
Dropping the note on the table that they had sat around, he grabbed on of the chairs and turned it around sitting in it backwards. "You know Riley is in really bad shape right now, I would've been shocked if they had the time to look at this," he said with furrowed brows. Whether or not the ToTer cared as another matter. Bul cared. What he'd learn he'd share the best he could.

The Treater scoffed and turned the page, "Those flyers were out well before then. Truth is, I was gonna warn you about the Horsemen, but turns out?" He finally looked up at Bul, "I shoulda been more concerned for their safety than yours. Seriously, if they get back, you knobs are gonna owe those crazy ********." His attention drifted back to the magazine, "Did you at least learn anything good?"

At the mention of the horsemen Bul averted his eyes. "Oh I'm sure we will..." he sighed. "Ugh I already owe them for some stuff they did at the haunted house..."
Flicking his tail behind him he rested his chin on the cool surface of the chair. "I don't really know what all happened when they went off in the forest so there's not much I could've told you about that," he said then scratched a spine on his face. "But they've talked to us about the hunters. Information which in my opinion is overwhelming. We have no idea what we're up against really. One moment we think we know who they are and then they take away our greatest offensive."
He frowned for a moment but in more of a disgruntled light. "We need the practice not just the know-how. And now that they have them, we have no practice."

"Yeah, I got a play by play on that s**t already," Nox gave the boil a dismissive wave, "What I'm asking is, did you at least learn...anything good? Because from the sound of it...no, you didn't really learn s**t." Nox tossed the magazine down on the table and gave Bul a level stare. "I don't give information for free, and I'm sure as hell not a teacher, but I'll do you that favour...of boiling what you just said, into a very important little lesson."
The Treater dropped his feet to the floor and leaned forward, "Every time, these humans ******** around with you guys, they bring out something new. Something better. And do you know what that means? It means that the hunters are learning from you. Every time you fight them, they take something back with them, win or lose. And they use that information."
His eyes took on a fiery glow, "And what do you guys do? You hold little costume ceremonies and wait around for someone to tell you what to do. You want practice?" Standing up, Nox began to pace, punctuating his rant with his hands, "Take the information you have and use it! Take a page from the assholes in white, you've fought them. You have first-hand knowledge of how they work. Use it. Improve. Create strategies and tactics. Build communication networks. Figure your s**t out. Because this place isn't teaching you how to be scary anymore, it's teaching you how to survive in a world where the top of the ******** food chain is suddenly under fierce debate."

The boil was greeted by an abrasive response from Nox and in return Bul offered him his ear but not without a displeased grunt.
Even with a sour look Bul was starting to realize that as raw as it was, Nox was outlining exactly what it was they were looking at here. "Fine fine, I get it, I understand that I'm a monster here, ya need not explain that to me. Me-" he lifted a clawed hand- "-humans." the other rested below it.
Sitting up in the chair he chewed on his bottom lip. "I was paying close attention at the haunted house. I was looking for H and I never quite got to him. Of course narrowing down the descriptions I was pretty close. I know for certain that the huntards don't attack alone. You don't get one, you get the whole pack. Not ONCE in that house did we experience a lone hunter. They're organized but... not creative.." he snorted. "You know, relative to Halloween."
His tail was curling in and out like a cat's now indicating his thoughtfulness. "They like to shoot you in the a** and never stray from their orders. That's just a guess though. None of them seem like the type to go vigilante."
Bul grumbled a little to himself though now as he realized a conflict of interest. "But there's another thing. The horsemen said the complete opposite of what you did when we first talked. They say we outta go for the lower ranks but;" At this point he would have mentioned the nets, though he only heard and never witnessed. Apart from his vision that is.

The demon nodded his head as Bul responded, and his pacing slowed. "Better, you have learned a bit then, yeah? You've got a few things you can use just in that, provided you take the initiative. And if you can't? Find another student who can, arm them with what you know."
At the mention of the horsemen's advice, Nox laughed and took his seat again, "s**t...you do know they're crazy, right? Like, they seem a bit better now? But seriously, they're still pretty much crazy. And their advice isn't actually bad. If you were a horseman as well. Taking on an entire group at once is the same as a single enemy for those guys, can you say the same?"

"Well it's definitely not information I plan to just sit on. Hopefully everyone else that's witnessed the events at the haunted house understands this as well."
The half beast picked a nail at the chair idly. "Everyone's still moping about Red and searching for the answers about her. It's like poking a carry-on's nest. Luckily that's also like... the focus of the Boogeyman I think." Of course it was a little bold to say that and Bul still held his respect for the werewolf but spending all this time researching an unstoppable subject? Bul was more concerned about losing what little security of hope they had. They already got the horsemen. Now they'd struck Riley. Thank loving Jack they hadn't actually taken her.
"I do know they are crazy. In fact I had the pleasure of meeting famine at the island. I don't think you can find ANYTHING that equates to that kind of crazy," he began. "they aren't afraid to use their fear. They aren't afraid of s**t. I try not to be afraid, and since the island?" he shrugged. The nightmarish vision of Riley proved everything he said was wrong... but Nox didn't need to know that.

Nox snorted, "The Boogeymen, if students are going to be worrying about them, they should be thinking of ways around them. Those guys are are chained down by shackles of politics and their need to do s**t for the Greater Good." His voice was absolutely dripping with disdain, "It sounds pretty, right? The Greater ******** Good? Get to be a big damn hero and all that? Well, you know where that gets them? Dead." He smirked, "So don't worry about those assholes, even supposedly under lockdown, you guys have more freedom to get s**t done than they ever will."
Leaning back in seat, the Treater stared at the boil in assessment, "Yeah, they're a s**t-ton of bricks, waiting to fall on some poor ********. You aren't though. Neither are your little friends. So you take on the little bitty baby hunters, and maybe take a few out. What happens then? Well, the ******** Doctor and his henchmen build something nasty to counter whatever you did. Does the loss really effect them? Not really. You pretty much get s**t all for going after the little guys, except maybe dead. "
He sighed and sat forward, arms resting on the table, "Not gonna lie, taking on the hunter leaders? It's dangerous. And if you attempt it stupidly? On their terms? It's suicidal."

"Oh the Boogeymen are a ******** joke," Bul rolled his eyes. "That whole trip and everything that came from it? If they hadn't ******** tried to be so stupid I- URAUHG." Bul grew sincerely frustrated and punched the table, perhaps revealing a little too much emotion for Red's passing.
"So then what is it we have to do?" Bul asked. "And I'm... I'm not really asking YOU this I just have to wonder what it is that WE can do to stop the Doctor. If he's the problem when we should be going after HIM?" Shaking his head he rubbed his temples. "I'm overthinking this aren't I?" he asked. Monster boils like him weren't good at that whole thinking business anyway. This was all a clever illusion to compensate for it.

Nox sat back at the monster's outburst, his lips twitching up in amusement. "Yeah, they suck. Always told Red she should have gone ToTC." He made a small tching sound, his disapproval clear. "And remember what I said last time, don't go after him. Just take the shot should you get one. Right now you should be thinking about defenses, and like I said, strategy. What do you do if a friend gets caught? What do you do if you see someone who looks out of place? Should you pair up? Make teams? What about communications? How do you get the word around if s**t's suddenly hitting the fan? Should you figure out some codes, hand gestures? Most people has mental communication abilities, and relying on one student, who apparently likes to play sacrifice, it taking a lot for granted."
He rolled his head a bit and popped the back of his neck, "s**t this place needs better chairs. Anyway, you kids need to start figuring your s**t out if you want to be anything other than targets and convenient hostages."

"Less running around after these figures would be nice.." Bul interrupted the ToTer softly. It was clear on his face he wanted to say something about letting one student go but it wasn't in his (or anyone but the horsemens) hearts to let a student get jacked permanently. Even if he didn't know Shehk well enough it was hard to dismiss her as a sacrifice.
For the sake of his butt (literally) Bul could not agree any more. His feet were even tapping out of excitement perhaps? The idea of taking action was nice but always much more satisfying to just think about. "Yanno I'm not so good at clever disguises and stuff for messages. I mean it took some serious luck and a couple of bathroom breaks to mull over what you wrote anyway. Got any advice on that sort of thing? I know there's a club working on a newspaper that might be a way to get word out but..." he shrugged once more. At this point he merely wanted to know how Nox got to be so obnoxious.
((lol look at me throwing cross character references in here..))

"If you can't do something, find someone who can." He gave the student a speculative look, "If you can't figure something out, find someone who can teach you. But for a newbie, you're not doing too badly, you're here right?" This was likely the closest Bul would ever get to praise from Nox. Feel free to bask in it's warm glow. "You need to figure out your own strengths, and the strengths of those around you. Use what you have, all of it. Information, people, resources, because you're gonna need it if things continue to escalate."

Perplexed enough as he was Bul nodded and sighed. "Alright sure. That's easy enough as just jotting down a few notes..." he said. He'd address the former suggestions to himself later. He was not all of the things, he knew this.
