Her first attempt of meeting the demoness girl since their last talk had failed, but not so miserably that she had given up hope. No for some reason, Amphi was dedicated to talking to the other girl, to know her and why she was, who she was for Mac. And what it entailed for Amphi herself.
The last visit to the demon dorms had ended in a fruitful meeting with a cute baku demon, one she hoped she could consider a friend in the future.
Holding her breath, and with some stolen directions....from he who shall not be named, she headed to the room that held the pretty demoness.
"Okay Amphi. Okay." She breathed in and out, she could do this. She was just wanting to talk, she just wanted to talk to the ghoul. To understand. Her heart clenched as she thought about it before raising her hand on the door.
A soft knock as her hand tapped on it. Her face....it was flushed red with...she didn't even know why. Was it weird to knock on the door of the ghoul who dated Mac before? And to come to her, with all of things she could, to ask advice?
She either had a death wish, wanted Lizzy to hate her or....didn't understand the complications of the relationship she had somehow involved herself in. Oh god, what happens when she opened the door?!?!?

Lizzy wasn't really doing much, thankfully; just laying down on her tummy on her bed, with the laptop in front of her as she checked through her mail and groanspring. When she heard the knock, she frowned, not really expecting any company; however, company was nice, especially since they normally helped keep her mind off certain depressing things.
"Coming!" She called out, hastily grabbing her laptop and moving it over to her desk before rushing over to the door, not even bothering to check who was outside before flinging it open. To her surprise, she came face to face with a ghoul that she recently became acquainted with... And really wasn't expecting to see again so soon.
Despite that, she put on a smile, trying not to seem too surprised as she stepped aside, inviting the mermaid into her room with a wave of her hand, "Oh, Amphi, right? What brings you here today?"

It wasn't long for the door to swing open and Amphi was greeted by the older demon's presence. Fidgetting nervously as the ghoul looked at her. She was sure it was a surprise...wasn't it? Though she didn't get much of a reaction as she thought.
"Oh well! I hope your not busy." She pushed through her awkwardness and ducked her head, "I wanted to come see you....and perhaps talk....and maybe ask some advice." She looked up as she took the wave of Lizzy's hand to be a invitation before stepping in.
For a moment, she studied the room, so vastly different from hers. While hers was made for a mermaid, with a aquarium large enough to fit her and space to swim around, Lizzy's room was what she always imagined a Landwalker ghoul's to be...okay maybe not, since she had no idea how Landwalkers slept or lived.
She had seen Mac's room and knew the basic furniture. "Is there...Is there anywhere I should sit specifically?" She timidly asked, she was in fact, not sure just what the ghoul would like to do with her.
"I really don't mean to bother you if your busy." She said again, wringing her hands together, "But....I think your the best person to ask this about so....But if yoru busy I can come back!" She flushed as she tried to sort her thoughts. She didn't want to step on toes but what she was probably going to ask well....It might effect a lot of things.

"Advice?" She echoed softly, clearly surprised at the request; after all, she had only gotten to know the ghoul, so why her? Then again, she did seem to be rather painfully shy, so maybe she hadn't made that many friends yet? That seemed rather plausible, and despite the bitter voice at the back of her head going 'she could have gone to Mac instead', Lizzy gestured over to a small room at the side, "There's a couch in there?"
Most of her friends were asked to sit on the edge of her bed, but she decided that while she wanted to treat Amphi like she could treat anyone else, Lizzy still couldn't bring herself to act like she was totally fine with the ghoul acting so physical with Mac... Because she was not fine with it.
"Ah, no, don't worry," She nodded, trying to sound reassuring as she led her over to the couch, "I wasn't doing anything of importance~" Sitting down, she patted the empty seat next to her, "So... Uh, what did you want to talk about...?"

"Ah...Yes." She flushed as she continued further into the room and looked around. "Your room is very nice, very cozy." She attempted a small smile but....for some reason, she felt that maybe she was treading on dangerous area with Lizzy. Did Lizzy not like her? no no, That couldn't be it, she had been so kind last time they met and she was hoping...and seeking that kindness again.
"Oh!" She ran her hand over the arm rest part of the couch that Lizzy had pointed out before slowly sitting down. She waited until Lizzy made herself comfortable and reassured her, again, that she was not busy.
"I wanted....to um..." she flushed as she tried to process just how to say something without blurting it out like she usually did, and in a way that would make no sense to anyone else. "I...Have you ever kissed anyone before?" Her face was so deep red that she could match a lobster in the sea. Just remembering the kiss with Mac was well... embarrassing. VERY MUCH SO. And maybe perhaps with Lizzy, she had more experience. She was in fact a much prettier ghoul then Amphi herself, and older, and kinder and maturer and now she was just comparing herself. No, Amphi no. There is no need to compare yourself.

"Thank you," She answered with a genuine smile, although something was still holding her back, creating a wall between herself and Amphi in her head. She continued to smile, hoping not only to ease the ghoul, but to ease herself as well; she hated that feeling... The feeling of holding back and being careful, or having prejudices against someone before knowing them as a person.
Even worse, it was all because of a boil.
"Uh, yes," Her reply was somewhat hesitant, only because the only person she had ever kissed happened to be Mac; Jericho on the forehead, and Amrita and Mot on the cheek did not count. Not anymore, compared to the ones she had shared with Mac. She paused, tilting her head as she gave her a questioning look, "Why...?" For some reason she could not quite explain, she felt nervous all of a sudden, her stomach doing flips as she waited for an answer.

She fidgeted on the couch as she looked up. For a moment, she saw the gentle smile that she had been first greeted with before it shadowed over. Maybe it was cause she was shy? And couldn't get to the point very fast.
Her hands wrung together as she looked up at Lizzy...then back down to them. "I..." Her face was working it's way to a monstrous red color, highlighting her natural blue eyes.
"I....Mac....we kissed." She flushed deeper and deeper. Her hands buried in her face....in sheer embarrassment. "It was my fist kiss and....and I've never kissed a boil before and I don't know if he liked it and...." She held her hands up and then let them fall quietly in her lap. "I don't know what I am doing....." She looked up at Lizzy, would she understand? She had dated Mac before, would she help her try to understand?

Jack damn it.
Lizzy quickly stood up, walked outside, and stayed there for a little while to make several faces - first hurt, and then hurt, and then more hurt, mixed with just a bit of disgust. Her earlier discomfort with Amphi had vanished in that split second, replaced with this pain in her chest that had her gripping at her own chest, trying to sooth it as she felt tears welling up in her eyes; that sounded familiar. Way too familiar.
First kiss. Never kissed a boil before. Not sure what was happening.
Maybe it really was a game to Mac. Breaking ghouls' hearts... He seemed to be an expert. Maybe those previous ghoulfriends he told her about were the same... Such poor unfortunate souls. Or maybe it was just her; she wasn't sure how to feel about that. She wasn't special. She never meant anything to Mac. She was just another ghoul.
Maybe this was a ploy to keep her away. After all, he started out pretty much hating her- No. No. They were talking about Mac. Puppy. He would never be such a horrible person; maybe the only person he never cared about was her. Maybe it was different with Amphi... Maybe the reason why he chose the mermaid was because she was what he really was looking for in a ghoulfriend.
When she reentered the room, she managed a smile that did not reach her eyes, "I'm sorry, I just felt really ill all of a sudden..." Pausing, she resisted the urge to rub her chest, where the hurt was, as she continued, "I... Uh... Do you like Mac?"

Amphi blinked when Lizzy got up and walked out. Did....Did she say something? Oh lords, maybe...maybe she offended her. Maybe her kissing Mac was bad. It.....hurt her head. Though her heart didn't seem to ache as much as it did before.
She had a uncomfortable pinch though as she rubbed her hands over her legs. She really cared for Mac, and wanted to be with him....but at the same time, she had this unusual foreboding, every time she talked to Mac...or Lizzy that there was something....just something that was wrong, that wasn't quite right.
She was left with the thoughts for only a moment longer when the Demoness returned, and Amphi flushed up at her. "I'm...I'm sorry! Do you need anything? Should I get you some water or anything?" She instantly rose looking around. Where was she going to get water? "Oh...I..Um..." She started to fumble with her words again, realigning her thoughts, "I...very much so." She sat back down and wrung her hands together. "He is....very kind and.....and um..." What was it she liked about Mac? He had made her laugh too, and was kind to her...no wait she already said that, and there was a..adorableness around him. She liked being held by him.....Oops, a instant flush before her hands wrung together again. "He....He doesn't mind that I am a mermaid, and compliments me on the fact that I remind him of water and..."....."There was a time he helped me with my writing so I could send a letter to my sisters." It felt like she was trying to push out why she SHOULD like him, as to if she just simply did. "But....He is the first boil I have ever felt this way about.....And it was....my first for everything." She cut off before sighing. "Am I being weird Lizzy?"

"... No," She replied, "Not at all." She could only hope that the ghoul could not detect the hurt and bitterness in her voice as she continued, her hands playing with the hem of her nightgown, as if keeping them busy would distract her from her conflicting thoughts and emotions.
He's loyal to those he considers his friends. His best friend is Charlie. His actions might be questionable at times but he had never intentionally set out to hurt anyone or cause harm to anyone. He's confident to the point where it's almost cute in a roundabout way. He tries his best to be considerate. He would never- had never... Hurt her...
Maybe that last point was now invalid.
"Well, you said that you kissed," She forced herself to smile, "Did he say anything to you regarding that?"

She continued to watch Lizzy before looking down at her friends. The deep and dark forboding, perhaps it was that she couldn't get past that Mac had considered Lizzy still close. She didn't know how bad it was when someone broke up, especially if they cared deeply about each other.
Her conversation with Lizzy could be like slapping the girl in the face constantly, reminding her that she had lost Mac and here, AMphi was picking him up after that. Her hands wrung tighter together as that uncomfortable pinch in her chest tightened and she had to take a shallow breath.
Lizzy though, shifted again and smiled at Amphi, which encouraged her to keep going. "He didn't." She said it so quickly that she covered her mouth before looking down, "He didn't tell me if he liked it....he didn't tell me anything afterwards." He talked about you though, she wanted to say out loud, and that he didn't want to be a...what was the word he used? Boilfriend to Amphi. He didn't want labels. "We...talked only a little before I had to leave...I learned he wanted to be a ferryman, and that he likes to swim. Which is nice cause I'm a mermaid and love to swim." She sighed before cluthing tighter, "Lizzy....Mac told me....that you guys use to date...." She looked down at her hands again, her eyes a bit haunted, "Do....Do you still have feelings for him?" She looked up only once, to meet blue eyes to Lizzy's red. The question, she didn't know where it came from but it popped right out. "I mean...Wait, I'm sorry I don't mean to pry, that was rude." Amphi stuttered before getting up, "I shouldn't have asked you that." I don't want to know, I don't want to know. I don't want to give up yet.
But was it really giving up, when she figured she didn't have a chance in the beginning? Or could she hope, that her first real crush, her first real liking of a boil would end up in her favor. What do I do then?

As much as she was sure that Amphi did not mean to, constantly talking about Mac was not good for her emotional well-being ... After all, she was supposed to be forgetting about the boil, and having to talk about him was not helping at all.
"Ah... I see..." She couldn't help but note that he didn't apologize to her for kissing her, not that she could tell if it was a good or bad thing, just that he wasn't repeating what he had gone through with her. However, she also couldn't help but note that Mac didn't reject Amphi; the kiss must be some sort of confirmation... Like a 'yes, I accept your feelings'. At least, that was what it seemed like to her.
She was starting to think she didn't know Mac very well at all.
"W-what?" Her eyes widened at the question, caught completely off-guard. For a moment, it looked like she was about to walk out again, but Amphi's apology was enough to make her pause; no, she had the right to know, if she wanted to be with Mac. Looking up at the mermaid, Lizzy took her hand, gently tugging on it to get her to sit down again.
"No... It's alright..." She muttered, shaking her head as she released Amphi's hand. Hesitantly, she replied, "I... I do. Feelings like this don't just go away, after all..." She looked away, staring at her lap.

Amphi was pretty sure she was treading on dangerous ground now. She could feel self doubt and conflict rising in her like a tidal wave come to crash down.
Her fears of Lizzy's feelings and the unspoken ones of Mac's only added to the roller coaster of emotions and thoughts inside her. To say in the least, she was over thinking her situation. She had, in truth, only kissed and confessed to Mac that she liked him, which in all honesty had been a very big step.
So she felt that big step she had taken, shrunk to a minimal one as her brain processed what she knew all along in her heart.
"They don't." Amphi nodded as she reached over and took Lizzy's hand. Why she empathized with the other ghoul was beyond her, why she didn't feel the urge to tell her that Amphi was now the one Mac may or may not be interested in was the last thought in her mind. "I...I am telling you this cause...." She looked down at the hand that held the demonness's before sighing. "I want us to be friends, because you are so kind to me. Regardless that I keep coming back to you for Mac, to ask you about him." She tried again to process just how best to say what she needed without it sounding horrible or stupid. "I really...really like Mac. I do." She nodded and flushed, it was so easy and yet hard to say that out loud, "But I fear that he doesn't feel the same about me. I know...." She gulped again before adding a small smile, "I know....that I am not what he is looking for." Amphi smiled sadly now as she realized the fears that were inside her.
Though she had all these feelings, though she had all these desires. She didn't have the courage to break through something she recognized, something she had seen in a few of her sisters when they talked of their boils. "So...So when that time comes and I am not needed anymore, I still want to come talk to you, even...Even if it seems like I should hate you...or Mac, I won't." She looked up again before nodding. "I will be selfish for now though." She blushed as she stood up, "And Covet the time I have. But...I really want to be friends with you Lizzy. So...um..." Now she felt like she was confessing to Lizzy. How could she go from confessing to Mac and now Lizzy, it was like she was trying to tear her brain into two pieces, she didn't cry though....if that was a plus for her, she held in the tears and overwhelming sadness she was eventually setting up for herself.
"I hope....That whatever you do, when you do...that you will be happy." She nodded again before flushing..."Ah...I think I maybe over stepped my place, I don't know what I am saying anymore."

"I like you, Amphi," She nodded, pausing as she offered the ghoul a smile that was small, but genuine, "I appreciate your honesty, and how you decided to approach me in this matter, despite knowing about Mac and my... History." It was something that she could admire; besides, Amphi had been so honest with her feelings that Lizzy felt inclined to do the same in return, to be fair to her.
"As for what Mac is looking for..." She looked away for a short moment before shaking her head, her smile faltering as she sighed softly, "Only he can decide for himself... Nobody else can decide for him." He had dumped her, after all, so that must mean that she wasn't what he was looking for in a ghoulfriend, right? He had even stated those things...
"But I do want to be your friend too," That was something she had already decided, "I am still... Getting over Mac, but regardless of what happens, I still want to know you, and I wish the same for you. I do want my friends to be happy, after all!" She smiled again, and even moved to wrap her arms around Amphi, closing her eyes as she patted her on her back.

Amphi's flush deepened at Lizzy's bold statement. She actually liked her? That was.....the best thing she had heard this whole conversation, It was like....comforting in a way. Secretly though, she hoped she wouldn't do anything to upset the Ghoul, to turn her away from a budding friendship.
"My...My sister's say I have no tact in lying." Amphi nodded, "It's easier though to be upfront with you, Your not even a semblance of terribly mean like my sister's are though." She giggled.
When they returned to talking about Mac, Amphi quieted down before nodding. There was a hope inside her that said "don't give up" yet. But even if she wasn't what Mac wanted, wasn't it better to have him happy then not? Whatever the reasoning, she just nodded again.
"I don't have many friends yet, so I'm glad your one of the first." She blushed again, ducking her eyes under bangs. her arms came to wrap around the other ghoul too before sniffling, "It's good to know a good Ghoul like you. My sister's would like you very much." She nodded before pulling back, "Though, Someday you should let me play with your hair." She nodded vigorously, "I love its color and there is so much of it." She sniffled again, "Thank you....for listening to me about Mac....and understanding."
