A gust rolled past, a paper bird taking flight. Laeh chased after it, sending more gusts to keep it in the air. "The phoenix shot a burst of flame at the magnificent Laeh," she said with a squawk. She rolled to the side. "But Laeh was much too clever to be taken by such a trick."
Laeh sent another gust towards the bird, this one a little stronger than the previous ones. Unfortunately, that sent the paper bird rocketing into a tree. She sent a few gusts at it but it wouldn't budge. "The phoenix rests, exhausted from its battle with Laeh."
Laeh huffed, sitting down for a moment to rest. "How am I gonna get it down now?"

Dhiren was only faintly aware when a little voice was speaking not too far off, not recognizing it for what it was immediately. Occupied as he was, investigating a rock he had discovered that seemed to have the imprint of a small creature, though he was sure he had never even seen a living creature that could make the type of imprint he was looking at, he accepted that there was a good possibility it was an actual creature, he just hadn't the fortune of seeing one.
Black and blue ears picked up the voice and it was clearer this time, finally breaking through his fog of thoughts. Slowly he dragged his blue eyes from the captivating rock and looked in the direction talking was coming from. It sounded as if someone was playing, but there was only one voice. Perhaps they had been playing hide and seek. He knew from experience that its often comforting when you talk to yourself while looking for the hiding person.
Before he knew what possessed him to investigate the situation, he had already passed through some hanging branches to come upon a small mare looking up into a tree. For a moment he wasn't quite sure what he was looking at. It was far more peculiar than what he had been occupied with. He followed the direction of the small creatures attention and noticed her avidly staring at a paper bird. Looking back to her he noted her wings, though they were oddly placed, he hardly doubted she could fly with them. He cleared his throat, hoping not to startle her. "Excuse me, would you like some assistance?"

Laeh's head snapped to the direction of the voice and she jumped up, ready for action. Though she didn't show it, she was a little disappointed that this soquili was offering to help. She eyed him and tilted her head to the side. He had odd wings and was larger but she was sure he was a putti. Perhaps a witch had cast a spell on him. Or an ancient curse that was passed down his family line. Shuddering with excitement, Laeh bounced on the spot.
"Ohohoho. Don't worry about that. I'm much more interested in you. How'd you get so big? Was it a witch? When did you come to these lands? I don't really remember seeing you around before we moved." Her questions came out in one long sentence and she moved forward, circling the stallion.
"We can go change you back to regular size. We'll show that witch who's boss!"

Dhiren watched the small excitable creature as best as possible as she circled him, trying to keep up with her string of questions. Certain as her word, by the time she was done talking, Dhiren had the suspicion that she had completely forgotten her paper bird. Her questions puzzled him and he studied her with a quizzical look, pondering where she was getting these ideas. Certainly there were some similarities, like the wings behind he ears, but his wings were also placed on his shoulders, not his rump. "A witch? No, I just merely grew." He grinned and shook his head.
"I was born here, my parents and sisters are around the same size as I am." Dhiren was sure he was around as tall as his father, his mother was definitely smaller than he, though not nearly as tiny as this creature, whose antics reminded him of his cousin. "Its okay, there would be nothing for me to turn back into, except perhaps a foal and I'm okay with that not happening."
He lowered his head to hopefully stop the silly creatures circling. "And how about you? Did something happen to make you so tiny?" Though he was very sure nothing had happened to her as she suggested happened to him, he thought perhaps it would make her pause.

Laeh eyed the stallion, eyes sparkling with excitement that slowly faded as she realised there was no adventure to be had. She sighed and sagged a little, some of her chipper diminishing. Of course, she was being ridiculous, but that wouldn't stop her.
"Nothing happened to me. I was born this way. We came from other lands to here. I'm a putti."
Looking the stallion over again, she took in his appearance carefully. "I guess you really aren't like me. Your wings are in different places."
Flopping onto the ground, Laeh rolled onto her back and stared up at the stallion. "And here I was hoping for an adventure. I would've been a hero, y'know."She pouted a little. "What brings you here anyway? I didn't think many traveled this far."
