Amphi wasn't sure how she felt now. After dying and being reformed, and then with confessing to Mac, she hadn't time to think of what happened afterwards. She had a couple nightmares but it wasn't bad and well, she didn want to bother Mac over it either. They weren't dating...as far as she knew but she didn't mind that either, simply content to share what she felt with him.
She had yet to talk to Lizzy after the event's. The ghoul had been very supportive and it...Well she wasn't sure how it made her feel all together. She felt confusion and a dull heartache but, she wanted to be friends with the other ghoul too.
She was such a conflicting mess.
So here she was, in front of the demon's dorm where she knew the pink haired pretty demonness made her home.
What am I doing here? What am I doing here?
Her hands wrung together before she took a breath and opened the doors and stepping in.
The fall back to her not so well thought of plan already...She didn't know where Lizzy was.
So she stood in front of the doors awkwardly.
"Oh....Whhhhhyyyyyyy?" She said out loud, please let someone come by so I can ask...or something.

"Is...is something wrong?"
Xiu had just returned from a grocery trip when, upon entering the demon dorms, she nearly walked straight into another ghoul who had been standing in front of the doors. She had just managed to catch the tail end of her (very drawn out) "why", and figured...
...Well, it sounded like she needed help.
Though she had never met this ghoul before, Xiu did recognize her from spotting her in the halls and...well, that incident with the Hunters. Despite her typically friendly disposition, Xiu had been rather wary around the new students lately, but the fact that she recognized Amphi reassured her that she could be trusted. Clearing her throat, the baku let the corners of her lips tug upwards into a small smile.
"If you need any help, I'd be happy to be of assistance."

Amphi clearly debated her dilemma for a few seconds before jumping at the sound of a voice.
"I'm sorry!" Was her instant response as she turned around before meeting the rosey pink eyes of a very adorable demon. She flushed and flailed her arms around as she looked around for anyone else before ducking her head. "I'm sorry again, I didn't mean to be in the way." She looked down at the groceries the other girl carried before looking back up.
"I...I am just wandering around lost and confused." She smiled though, her tone implied otherwise. "It's not of importance...I think...if I don't do it today." She nodded her head, though she didn't realize the other ghoul might have no idea what she was going on about.
"Oh....That's very kind!" She ducked her eyes shyly under her bangs, looking down before peeking a glance at the other ghoul, "I don't want to bother you though if your busy, your bags...." She looked at the bags of groceries again before hesitating, "They look heavy! Do....Would you like help or anything?" She shifted, her nature that being to help when help was offered to her.
"Um, I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude." She shifted again before flushing, "I...I am still not quite good at the etiquette of Landwalkers yet. My name is Amphitrite, but its really long and a mouthful, so you can call me Amphi for short if you'd like." She wasn't sure if she should...shift around or do something. Her idea of talking to Lizzy was well forgotten in her embarrassment of being caught outside of the dorms in said idea.

The apology surprised her, but Xiu was quick to shake her head in a dismissive manner. "Don't worry about it! And...lost and confused?" Xiu knit her brows together in concern--was this ghoul looking for someone in the demon dorms, perhaps? It was quite a large dorm so it wouldn't be surprising if she was having trouble locating someone. It had taken Xiu some time to get adjusted herself!
At the offer, the baku couldn't help but grin, her tail giving a little wag. "I think I'll be okay! But really--it's no bother at all if you need assistance! I live here, and my room is pretty close by, so I could always just toss these ingredients into my room and come back out to help you." There was a pause before, with a thoughtful look on her face, Xiu added, "Or you could come in, if you'd like."
No, she didn't really see any issue in inviting someone she had just met into her room. That being said, this pretty ghoul seemed extremely sweet, so the baku was taking to her quite quickly. Smiling, she lowered the bag in her right hand to the ground so that she could offer the same hand out to Amphi to shake.
"That's a pretty name! I'm Xiu-Ying, but please just call me Xiu!"

"Oh! That's good, I hate to be in the way." She complimented the statement with a shake of her head before blinking..."Oh right! Lost and confused, I'm not from the Demon dorms..." Duh Amphi, she probably knows this, "I was going to go see if I could find a Ghoul I had met but....It really is okay if I go to find her tomorrow, I don't think she'll want to be bothered so soon after our meeting." Amphi nodded again before flushing at the girl's kindness.
Her tail! Amphi's eye's were instantly drawn to it as it gave a little wag. OMG. Amphi's eyes widened at the pure adorableness of it before looking back up, "Oh! Your a Demon?" DUH AGAIN AMPHI, "I heard Demon's are usually not so kind to other races." She spouted at the only fact she did know about demons before covering her mouth, "But...I am not trying to imply that you are mean....cause you aren't...whatsoever." She flushed and hung her head before looking up with more surprise! "Oh well...okay?" She followed the other ghoul into the dorm room, eyeing the bags just in case. Though the Demon Ghoul seemed to handle them with ease.
"Th...Thank you! I was named after a consort of our patrons husband....Not sure if that is a sign of good luck or bad." She chuckled at the idea before cocking her head, testing the name out. "Xiu-Ying, Xiu. Your name is so simple and pretty as well." She continued to look at the girl, "I love...your outfit by the way. I have never seen such intricate details." She envied the girl's flower patterned outfit, wondering why it seemed so foreign to her.

Oh? So she was looking for a ghoul? The baku tilted her head at this, but she didn't prod--though she was curious, it really wasn't her business now. "If you're certain!" She smiled as a silent way to let Amphi know that she was open for any questions though, if she did need directions later.
Xiu wasn't at all insulted by the ghoul's comment about demons. In fact, her smile became wry as she emitted a little laugh. "I am a demon, yes! And demons are..." She trailed off thoughtfully as she led her new acquaintance down the hall and to her dorm room. "Many are like that," she admitted finally, "But not all! I have friends who are kind to everyone, and acquaintances who..." She trailed off, sticking out her tongue and making a face. That's all she had to say on that matter.
"Your name is a lovely one," She assured Amphi with a grin, only to grow red-faced at the compliments. "I-I...thank you! And my uncle--he made this for me." Xiu glanced down fondly at her outfit before she finally managed to get her dorm room door open. At once, upon hearing their owner return, her three minipets--a storm melonkit, dream blossom, and nightmare flower--bound towards the door. Dumping all her grocery bags on the kitchen counter, Xiu bent down to briefly pet each one before smiling at her guest over her shoulder.
"Um...tea? Spookies?"

Amphi nodded her head vigorously at the Baku demon before crossing her hands over her chest. She continued to hold her easy smile as she gave a last look at the demon dorms before following Xiu into her room.
She was surprised with how easy the ghoul communicated with her, suffering through Amphi's etiquette and still being able to smile and joke with her. "I haven't met many demons so I don't have much to go on." honestly...if she really thought about it, Lizzy had been the first demon she had ever met, Xiu being the second. It wasn't like it was a bad thing, but it was curious that the monster ghoul had never mad friends with a demon before.
Her face cocked as she watched Xiu turn the subject before laughing, "I see!" The face Xiu had made was so funny, it reminded her of something...but she wasn't sure just what as well.
"I have very little friends here, though perhaps it is cause I am newer to the school." Amphi cocked her head, "And I am very shy around strangers, especially after....recent events." She smiled again though, detrimened to not think of the damned hunters and their presence that scarred her.
She squeaked though at the sight of the minipets as they came over to Xiu before leaning her down for them all to sniff. They we're all such gorgeous pets. Especially the flowered paired ones.
"I have not seen a room like this before." She touched the counters of the kitchen, "My room is a aquarium, filled with nothing but water and little islands on the top for my minipets. It is odd how each room seem's to fit their occupant." She smiled again before blinking at the offer and blushing. "Oh that would be nice? Should I do something?" In truth she had never cooked anything...maybe she should say that first. "Uh...actually, I don't think I should, I have never had to cook before so I will just watch, I'm sorry." She bowed her head. "Ms. Xiu, How long have you been at the Academy?" If she was going to spend time, she wanted it well spent and learning about people had always excited her....especially the landwalkers when she met them.

She smiled at the ghoul's confession that she hadn't met many demons, giving a little nod of her head. "There are a lot of stories about demons, and I know, and a lot of them are true." Unfortunately. Though... "Maybe it's just...some of the older demons who are kind of prejudiced? A few of my friends and I don't have anything against other races, but my mother and father..."
Xiu trailed off with a little grimace. She knew for a fact that her parents would probably disapprove of almost all the friends she had made here at Amityville. The one friend who she knew they would accept without question was Lizzy, but that was because the spider demoness was...well, a demon, and she came from a rather well-off family. All of her other friends though...
The baku gave a little shake of her head, and then reached out to squeeze Amphi's shoulder gently. "You'll make friends quickly, I'm sure." She smiled, and then moved around the kitchen to grab a kettle and her tea set from within the cabinets. "Shy or not, you've already made a new friend today, right?" At least, Xiu hoped that she could be considered a new friend, or at the very least, a potential new friend. She quite liked this Amphi ghoul!
"You are my guest, so you should relax," Xiu grinned, gesturing towards the living room area, "Or you can watch me make some tea and bring out the cupcakes and spookies if you'd like, but I'm not sure how interesting I'd be." She made another silly face before considering the ghoul's question with a thoughtful hum. "I've been here...a few months. And just Xiu is fine--you can relax around me, okay?" Actually, when Xiu had first arrived, she had been kind of shy and formal as well. It was surprising how things had changed!

Amphi watched as Xiu moved around before resting her hands in her lap. To be honest, the only reason she felt the way she did about demons because her oldest sister had been in love with one. It had ended badly and the mermaid clan still received a lot of grief from the demon clans. But it wasn't like anyone from Amityville knew that, or was part of that particular demon's clan. She just though it funny that the generalization of them had been..."high and mighty." Especially since Xiu and Lizzy we're so kind. "Ah perhaps, Younger generations do have a way of turning opinions around with their own experiences instead of basing it on parent's." She thoughtfully cocked her head at that. "Your parents...they would not approve of your friends??" She said that quietly, suddenly sad. She didn't want to put the Baku out of sorts if they we're attempting a friendship.
"Ah! Ma...Maybe! Though I will have to get use to talking to people." She flushed and looked down, "I am still....to hesitant with new people and since the attack..." She breathed in before shrugging, "It seem's to have gotten worst." She blinked as she looked up before flushing again, and then a full blown smile. "That's so kind! Thank you so much." She clapped her hands excited. "I am pleased to be consider a friend...well a newer friend...um...future friend." She nodded.
"Ah well!" Amphi smiled as she visibly loosened in her seat, attempting a mock relaxation. Though she was more excited and curious as to the new person. "Alright Xiu." She nodded again before thinking, "Only a couple of months! You must be really talented to make it to the second Years! Was it hard?" She smiled softly, "I haven't met many second years...besides Askaja." She nodded as she though of the lightning dragon.

The question regarding her parents made her smile wryly, and she emitted a little sigh as she set a kettle of water on the stove. "Let's just say...they would be displeased that I haven't been picky about who I talk to." Worse off if she ever got a boilfriend that was anything but a demon or some kind of dream-based creature. There was a very clear reason as to why Xiu preferred to keep her friendships at Amityville hush-hush when it came to her family (with the exception of her uncle, who was much more open-minded).
While the water was boiling, she spread a variety of mini cupcakes and spookies on a tray, carrying them out into the living room area and setting them down on the coffee table in front of Amphi. Her expression was sympathetic as she looked at the mermaid. "I can imagine. Considering what happened..." Sighing, she gave a quick shake of her head, letting a grin spread over her lips at the other ghoul's hesitation. "Well, if you'd be willing to consider me as a friend, I'd like that! Also, please help yourself."
She gestured to the small, intricately designed baked goods before ducking back into the kitchen. The kettle had begun to whistle, and Xiu had returned to brew the tea. Hearing Amphi's question from the kitchen, the baku shook her head before she realized that her new friend probably wouldn't be able to see her that well from where she sat.
"No, it wasn't too hard! And I'm really not that talented at all." She added the last part with a little laugh before returning to the living room once again, this time with a tray that held a small tea set. Sitting down beside Amphi, she gingerly poured out a cup of hot tea and held it out to her.

"Ahhh." Amphi quieted as Xiu told her of her parents before nodding. "My sister Undine. She use to be like that, very particular of who I was allowed to see and who I was allowed to talk to. But after she met her love, she became very...understanding I guess." She rubbed her hands on her legs, "I have to say though, this school is a lot different then what my sisters said. I did not expect so many different races and type of halloweeners." She smiled sadly. So many, and she couldn't even compare.
"Oh my! This looks fantastic!" She smiled as Xiu set down the treats and the tea, pouring her a glass in what Amphi would probably as very delicate and elegant. Who knew Tea pouring could be like that.
"Ah but to make it too second year must be some talent in itself, Though I have never really heard of a halloweener failing. My sisters all came from here." She held the cup, unsure of what to do before taking a sip. "Oh ow!" She whispered as she burnt her tongue, setting her tea down, "I'm sorry, I think I got too excited, I think...I think I drank it wrong." Amphi stuck her tongue out to see...well if she could see the damage, "I can't see it." She tried again to no avail. "Does it look burnt!?!?" She stuck her tongue out agian before pointing at it.

"Her love?" Xiu echoed, cocking her head to the side as she smiled, "It's nice to hear that her opinion changed. To be honest, I used to hear...terrible stories about some of the different races, especially reapers." In hindsight, the fact that some of her relatives tried to raise her to be prejudiced towards reapers was kind of...silly. After all, look at her now! "I have lots of reaper friends here though. One of them is like my best boil friend. Another is the big brother that I never had." She laughed. Oh Jack, just imagine what her parents would say if they knew...
The baku flushed with embarrassment at the compliment, giving a little shake of her head. "I-it's nothing much! Just something I made quickly the other day, so..." There wasn't much time for modesty, however, when Amphi suddenly burnt herself on the tea. Jumping in surprise, the baku got to her feet in a panic.
"D-do you need cold water?! I'm sorry! I should have warned you--" She fell silent when the mermaid stuck out her tongue. For a moment, Xiu said nothing, and then she bit down on her lip to suppress the grin that was threatening to spread over her face. Amphi was so cute!
"It doesn't really look burnt, no, but I'm sure it stings a little. You'll want to take slow, careful sips when you drink hot tea."

"Well she was in love with a landwalking demon...and he died." She thought about it...."At first she was against me coming here but decided it would be better to have the experience so I can be stronger. Stronger then her even." Amphi looked down before shrugging, "Oh reapers! I know...Two I think. One is named after a bird...Sp..Sparrow! He was very kind and somewhat of a flirt and...." She thought of Mac and blushed, "There is Mac. He is um. Very nice." she left it at that before looking around. "I wonder who the two you know are! They must be really nice if you get along with them so well." Amphi smiled.
"Nonsense, It looks gorgeous." She nodded before burning her tongue. Her eye's watered only for a little while as she stuck it out in confirmation from Xiu that it was okay. No seriously, was it okay? Cause she couldn't see it.
"Issssss itsss alrishh?" Amphi said with a slur, mostly due to the lagging tongue before sticking it back in her mouth. "Your...YOUR RIGHT." She nodded before looking at the tea....with detrimination. "You may have gotten me this time hot tea! But round too, I will taste you slowly!" She fist pumped as she took a small sip....but with a burnt tongue, it did nothing more then agitate it and had her frowning. "or perhaps it has ruined my taste buds now!" She looked up sadly.

Xiu's face fell at the short recount of Amphi's sister and her love. She wasn't really sure what to say--after all, she didn't know what Amphi's relationship was like with her sister or the demon that her sister fell for--but the baku managed a quiet murmur to express her sympathy. As the conversation turned to a light topic, Xiu let her lips pull back upwards in a smile.
"Oh, Sparrow! And...and Mac." The former received a grin--after all, she considered him a good friend--but the latter...well, her cheerful tone faltered a little at the mention of the hat-wearing reaper. He wasn't a bad guy, to be sure, but he wasn't entirely polite to her those few times they had spoken. Buuut that didn't matter right now. "The two I was talking about were Vaith--he's like...a best boil friend?--and Shun, who I think of as my big brother."
But besides talking about their reaper friends, there were more pressing matters to see to, like the fact that poor Amphi's tongue was burnt. Frowning, Xiu reached out to give her new friend a small squeeze on the shoulder. "Hang on a second, okay?" Off to the kitchen she went, and when she returned, Xiu had a glass of chilled tea in her hand. She set it down in front of the mermaid.
"Booberry white tea." A pause, and then she smiled, pointing to the ice cubes that floated in the tea, "Chilled. Maybe you'll enjoy this more?" The baku was personally quite partial to chilled fruit teas as well.

She didn't miss the upbeat tone for Sparrow and the more quieter one for the reaper that Amphi seemed to find herself infatuated with. Sparrow had been very kind to her, if not endearing in his clumsy but very flirtatious self. The fact that Xiu knew him as well made the reaper just higher in the "get to know" better category for the mermaid.
"A best boil friend?" She was curious at that. If she really thought of it, She would compare this unknown man to her relationship with Sheridan, after all, the Dragon was her closest friend, and really only boil...friend. "Oh it must be so nice! I bet they are very protective then." Amphi nodded as she thought of the two boils before smiling at Xiu.
Her tongue, though burnt was starting to wear in pain, though if she touched it to the roof of her mouth she could still feel it. "S...Sure!" Amphi fidgeted in her seat as she lolled her tongue back and forth. Such a odd sensation, this burning of the tongue. This was a first experience for her after all.
"Ah! I am so sorry to bother you so with this." She flushed before pulling the cup towards her. She took a small sip before eyes widening. It didn't hurt her tongue and it tasted delicious. "This is so good!" She cooed as she continued to sip it. "Such a great drink. Such a rarity to taste such a treat from the land walkers. It's sweeter then even the waters of the Greecian islands!" Amphi babbled, clearly...CLEARLY fan girling over tea.
