Where: Somewhere in New Hemisect.

When: A few hours after midnight.

Why: Zeffer is on the prowl during a storm and decides to rope Aprife into his mischief making.

Zeffer smiled at the sound of thunder rumbling somewhere in the distance, peering about at his drenched surroundings from under his hood. He'd arrived in the city a while after midnight, and the storm was going steady still, to his delight. There was only a slight wind, and for the most part the rain was coming down in a steady downward sheet, the black clouds above obscuring the stars and Alternia's twin moons. It wasn't a very notable storm, not nearly as violent as what he really liked, but he still found it enjoyable, and there were things he needed tonight that were much more easily acquired in the city than out in the forest. For now, though, he took great joy in the weather that was happening. He sauntered along the sidewalk with a jaunty bounce in his step, sometimes moving along to some unheard song in his head. One great thing about the rain was that it made plenty of trolls hide away in their hives, leaving the streets almost abandoned, save for a troll here and there hurrying along under an umbrella. It made it all the more fun for Zeffer, who hummed and strutted and danced along the sidewalk as he headed toward his destination.

A flash of lightning made him stop in his tracks, and he laughed, having forgotten that, hey, while he was here, he may as well commemorate the storm. He unhooked one arm from his backpack and dug around in it until he found what he'd been looking for - a small camera that he carried around everywhere with him. He used it to record just about every storm he went after. It was small but good quality, good enough to clearly capture the chaos that he experienced. He popped the lens cap off and snapped a few quick photos of the rainy street he was on before jamming the camera into his pocket. More later, though he was sure that the rainy haze around the streetlamps would develop quite nicely. He leapt forward again and landed with a great splash into the nearest puddle, causing several passersby to growl and curse as they were caught in it, despite their already soaked states. The blueblood could have cared less, and continued onwards, lazily navigating his way through the streets, in no real hurry to get to where he needed to be.

Eventually he was wandering through a more residential area, where the hivestems reached up toward the stormy sky like ugly concrete fingers, alight with the glow of each individual room. A female troll and a small canine-looking lusus hurried into a nearby hivestem to escape the rain, and Zeffer grinned to himself. It was another night where snakedad had decided to stay at home again, leaving Zeffer to go off and do his own thing. Get into his own trouble. That was exactly what he planned to do as he skipped and hopped around in the puddles, peering into hivestem lobbies as he passed by.

It had been a pretty good day for snooping. No, scratch that, it had been a great day for snooping and Aprife was in high spirits as the night began shimmering with an orange-ish morning tint. The walk back from main street had been pretty uneventful, but he couldn't say he minded. The notebook tucked under his arm was already overflowing with enough news and he began to make plans to read and re-read all the delicious details as soon as it was night again. Now, he just wanted to hit the recuperacoon. After a nice wash, of course. The lobby door banged noisily against the wall as he pushed in, earning a few annoyed, but largely unsurprised looks from the staff. Near the stairs, he caught a neighbor on her way out.

"Leaving?" He turned on his heels to follow her back towards the front. "Isn't it getting a bit early for that?" At first she didn't seem to notice he was speaking to her at all. This wasn't the silent treatment, was it? Had he done something bad and forgotten about it? "Hello?" She stopped, turned, and it was quiet. Until- "Bzzz zzz zzzzzz." The look on the younger troll's face was probably priceless. "Excuse me?"

"BZZZ bzzz zzzzz zzz-

-zzzz bzzz ZZZZ."

Jolting back with a start, Aprife nearly tipped the chair he had been sitting in and slammed his elbows painfully on the desk when he flailed to right himself. The lusus who had been hovering near his head was forced to roll through the air to dodge the unfriendly point of a horn. "Bumbs, what...?" Voice slurred with poor sleep, the yellowblood rubbed an eye. There was a dark, wet spot tucked in the elbow of his sweater where he had--he rubbed his chin and sure enough--been drooling. "What time is it?" At the buzzed response, he stood quickly, sending his chair to the floor.

"Why didn't you wake me up sooner?!" Darting past his guardian, he went to change. It had been a long time since he had fallen asleep at his desk, nose pressed so intently into a book that he didn't notice the time. It left him feeling groggy, uncomfortable, and overslept with the worst kind of sleep, the kind that did next to nothing for actual tiredness. Now wasn't the time to mourn lost rest, however. He had lost hours of gossip already, a far more precious commodity. Getting out of the hive with a quickness was top priority.

"Later, Bumbs!" He called, with a notebook already tucked under his arm at the front door. Bumblesuckle tried to tell him something, but the door slammed shut before the bee could even finish half-a-thought. Down in the lobby, Aprife became acutely aware of what his lusus had probably been trying to say. It was raining. Storming, actually, and the hands he had pressed against the cold glass door had rings of fog forming around them. No. No. There was hardly anyone outside. This was terrible! This was nothing like that wonderful dream! But... he couldn't give up. Not yet. That just wasn't his style. Shoving the notebook under his turtleneck to keep it dry, he stepped out onto the sidewalk and into the rain.

One moment you're walking out of your hivestem, and the next minute some clumsy b*****d is bumping into you. This situation would apply to Aprife's quite accurately at the moment, for no sooner had he stepped out the door than Zeffer was crashing into him with a startled cry, nearly knocking them both to the sidewalk. Moments before, Zeffer had managed to splash another small group of trolls who'd been passing by in the street, and they had stopped to rail off a few choice expletives at the blueblood, despite their somewhat lowly green status. Zeffer had only laughed, turned around, and had started to walk backwards to respond, and flip them off. He couldn't really give two shits if some trolls were pussies over a little water, nevermind the downpour coming from the sky. What was a little extra? His face burned at their sudden laughter as he'd bumbled into Aprife, and he growled, unable to retaliate as they left hastily, all three still having a good laugh at his expense.

"Fuuuuck!" he grumbled, and just barely managed to catch his balance, whirling around quickly to see who or what had the misfortune of getting in his way. Really though, it'd been his fault, and he cooled his jets after a second. There was no denying he'd been the one who hadn't been looking where he was going...but there was no reason he could pretend otherwise, he figured, when he saw the kid he'd bumped into. Blood color didn't truly matter to him, but that didn't mean it wasn't fun as hell to tease people who did see importance to it. Lowbloods often did, and he leered experimentally at Aprife to test his reaction.

"'Scuse me." he said in a sarcastic, sing-song tone, giving a rather nasty grin as he reached out to steady Aprife, if the other troll even happened to need it. He was a little surprised after a moment to see how under-dressed the yellow blood was, for it being a thunderstorm and all. The s**t he had on was bound to get soaked, not that Zeffer particularly cared about Aprife's well-being, but it was the truth. "

A good look around spoke volumes for why this had probably been a bad idea. The streets were dead, save the occasional troll jogging to get out of the rain. The likelihood that anyone would want to stop and chat was next to nil. He could follow an unsuspecting victim to their destination, but it was always a little bit difficult to, say, simply slide into a booth next to someone at a restaurant without getting hauled up and kicked out the door. It had happened before, funny story, but now wasn't the time for a trip down memory lane. He was seconds away from making the decision between going back inside or ending up that cold, soggy weirdo with his face pressed up against the nearest shop's front window.

Good or bad, he was never able to reach a conclusion. By the time he started to turn his head, it was too late.

"Shi-!" The stumble was probably a bit more dramatic than was necessary on his part. Catching himself awkwardly on one leg, he barely had a chance to check out the jerk that had run into him before his notebook slipped out from its haphazard shelter under his sweater. Aprife's reaction was immediate. There was a puddle with his notebook's name stamped all over it. No, nooo! He couldn't let this happen. "Ahhh… SAVE!" His grin was a mile wide as he snatched the book out of the air, pulling it close to him to try and save it from the rain that was coming down sideways and a bit harder than before.

The voice he heard next tugged him right back into the reality of the situation, however. The look on his face became nervous the closer the other's hand got and the world suddenly felt slow-motion, like one of those terrible B-movies at what was supposed to be the suspenseful climax. That sarcastic quip… he couldn't tell if it had been 'haha, ain't that funny' or 'haha, now I'm going to break your face.' Luckily, the hand only served to steady his balance and he didn't flinch (too badly) as he slowly straightened back up.

"Yeeeah, I'm not that easy to kill," he remarked after a moment, testing the waters with a joke and a slight smile. Rain was beginning to drip into his eyes from his hair, causing some constant, awkward blinking until he finally reached up and swiped it away with a damp sleeve. "Uhhh, sorry about that-" He gestured vaguely with one hand. "Being in the way or, ya know." This was still a blueblood, at least so the hair poking out slightly from under the hood said. Best to play it a little polite.

"Ahhh--SAVE!"

Zeffer watched the yellowblood catch hold of whatever it was that he'd been carrying, bristling out in surprise at the sudden yelling. It caused his eyes to widen and his eyebrows to raise, and he laughed, unable to help himself, because it had startled him just a bit. What the hell, yo? He was immediately curious as to what it was Aprife had come so close to dropping in the puddle, but he only gave a pat to the other troll's shoulder once he'd found his footing on the damp sidewalk again. He loved city trolls...sometimes he wished he still lived in New Hemisect.

"I didn't think you would be. But, the night is young, we have plenty of time." he grinned a horrible, sharky grin, before laughing again. A little joke of his own, and immediately he felt just a tad guilty, because he knew that lower castes didn't always handle those kinds of jokes very well. "Hey, my fault. Never a very good idea to walk backwards. Shoulda known that was gonna happen." he stepped sideways, meaning to move them in closer toward the building where the rain wouldn't hit them as much. He leaned lightly against the side of the hivestem that Aprife had just left, nodding at the yellowblood.

"You may not be so easy to kill, but you'll get soaked out here in clothes like that...it's raining tonight." he snickered as he pointed out the obvious. As if to emphasize his point, a clap of thunder sounded overhead, and he shivered with delight. "What's that there, that I almost made you drop? N' why're you rushing out into a storm without even putting a coat on?" he asked, leaning forward to peer at Aprife's item curiously. It looked like a book...a little notebook. The mohawk'd b*****d was being just as nosy as Aprife could be, and he wasn't even aware of that yet!

PostPosted: Tue Dec 20, 2011 3:03 pm

A short, careful laugh spilled from his lips, only strengthening when the other started laughing again, too, and it seemed like the thing to do. Give him an inch and he would take a mile. The longer they stood there, even under lightning and rain, the more curious Aprife was becoming. Worry was now interest. If his new acquaintance was willing to stick around and provide him the opportunity to pry, he would take it with a grin. "Alllll the time." He drew out almost dramatically. "There's not much else going on." And there wasn't. Now they were the only ones on this particular street. "Unless, of course, you're on your way somewhere."

There wasn't much time to emphasize the thought before he was hit with a realization. This situation… it was rather unusual. Not because he didn't make a habit of running into bluebloods on rainy sidewalks. No, as he slunk closer to the side of the building, he realized that he wasn't used to being asked so many questions. Normally he was the one to flagship conversations with poke after prod. Not that he minded answering curiosities about himself most of the time. It was sort of refreshing. Sort of refreshing when he wasn't asked to immediately reveal his secret and risk losing the only troll who seemed fine and dandy with standing outside in the middle of a storm. A lot of the time, when someone found out he was writing about them in his notebook when they weren't looking, they were less than amused.

"Honestly… I didn't know it was raining. Didn't even look out the window. My lusus tried to tell me, I think, but ehhhh, that guy doesn't usually know what he's talking about." Shuffling his feet, he shifted his notebook to the arm closer to the hivestem wall. "Besides, don't really know if I have a good rainy night jacket, anyway. I've got a sweater, ain't that enough?" He laughed jokingly, lifting the bottom of his shirt to reveal more turtleneck-covered belly. Okay, maybe sweaters weren't the best rainwear. Details.

"S'not too bad, could be worse." And then came point when he was supposed to discuss the topic of the notebook. As if on cue, he seemed to shove it further under his arm. "Just got my notebook, that's all."

"Well isn't that a shame. I was on my way somewhere, in fact. If there's nothing else happening...you oughta tag along with me. You look like a guy who enjoys going places." he hissed the last words softly, a mad gleam entering his eyes. Gods, Zeffer sounded like a sleazy ******** there, but all the ******** he gave. He inhaled as he watched Aprife, listening to his response, enjoying the smell of the rain that was coming down around them in sheets. Didn't look out the window! That was practically the first thing he did every damn evening once he'd crawled out of his recuperacoon. Then again, he did have a bit of an obsession. One that possibly bordered on unhealthy, but it got him out and about, didn't it? He knew Arcus would have some pretty good arguments about that point, but that was irrelevant.

"Kehehe. My lusus tries to tell me stuff too. They sure can be bossy sometimes." he said with another sharp grin. It was something he wouldn't dare say if Arcus actually happened to be around...the feathered serpent could be horribly overbearing at times. With that creature's size and shape, you really had to watch yourself. "In this downpour? I doubt it. But, hey, what better way to become one with the storm, than to let it drench you." He tore back his hood, letting the wind blow his mohawk to the side. It felt nice, and he sucked in another deep breath before his eyes snapped back to Aprife. "A notebook, huh. Do you take...notes?" he asked, leaning in, before snickering. "We should get going. Maybe we'll find you a better jacket somewhere. I'm Zeffer, by the way. Who are you?"
PostPosted: Wed Jan 25, 2012 2:35 pm

Going places. Yes. Yes, that did sound a lot like him. Undertones or not, Aprife had to admit, if only to himself at this point, that he liked the prospect of going places. To him, it sounded like the perfect opportunity to pick up a juicy tidbit or two. About who, about what, he didn't know and found he didn't really care. This guy seemed to know something good and to get to that something, the yellowblood would get to know this guy. There was a sharp nod and his dreads bobbed along with his head, but the conversation moved on rather fluidly and he was sure that even if he had said 'no, I'm busy,' he would have ended up running the streets with his new blueblooded acquaintance, anyway.

"Err… I'm not really sure my lusus knows how to be bossy." And it was true, Bumblesuckle was hardly good at parenting, despite his attempts to pay attention. "If he was he probably would have just made me get something on for the rain." It would have been nice, in retrospect. As he stood there having to hear about getting drenched, he could only feel a pang of worry for his notebook. It was going to get soaked. It would be ruined. The best case scenario he could imagine was that it would still be possible to pry open the pages and read them well enough to transcribe them on his husktop. The book was new enough that he hadn't bothered copying anything over yet and while that meant if worse came to worse there wasn't much to lose, he still didn't like it.

"Yeah, notes." The short response was in part to try and dissuade any more questions, but also due to the fact that he was debating. It would only take a few minutes to run back upstairs and deposit the notebook, save it from any further destruction. But… he didn't want to risk going back and having his only company get tired of waiting and wander off without him. As upsetting as it was, he would have to make a sacrifice. A sacrifice for the greater good! Pulling away from the hivestem wall, he manuvered the notebook back under his shirt and sweater again, this time tucking it just a bit into the top of his pants, as well. It was the safest place for now. Not exactly a sanctuary, but beggars couldn't be choosers. "I'm Aprife. Let's get going!" A pause. "Where are we going exactly?"

Zeffer certainly did have a nose for good things, but the way in which he obtained said things was almost always questionable, if not downright illegal. Not that Aprife would know that yet. Zeffer's mind was already reeling over the advantages of having an accomplice. It was almost always easier, and a hundred times more fun to share the spoils when you had a friend to help you out during such mischievous outings.

"It doesn't? Well aren't you lucky. My lusus is always trying to tell me what to do. ********' annoying sometimes, but what are ya gonna do." he snorted, even if he didn't mean it. Arcus was always trying to hinder his fun by forcing safety precautions on him while all Zeffer wanted to do was cut loose. It was only recently that he'd managed to talk the giant snake out of escorting him every time he went out. Arcus probably knew by now that his troll was made of tougher stuff; that Zeffer could handle being alone in strange places. Even though he could get annoying, deep down, Zeffer did love the big scaly jerk.

Unaware of the internal struggle Aprife was having in that split second, Zeffer pulled his camera out from his pocket and snapped a picture of the yellowblood, a big 'ol s**t eating grin plastered on his face as he pocketed it again immediately. For some reason, snapping pictures of other trolls almost always got their panties in a twist, and Zeffer wanted to see how Aprife would react. He smirked as he stepped off, continuing down the sidewalk without a second thought as the yellowblood questioned him. "To some of the stores downtown, where they sell all the nice s**t. I know where we can get some, uhh" he snickered, "really great prices." he laughed at himself.

"So you live back there, Aprife?" Zeffer said the other's name, trying to commit it to memory. "I used to live in the city. Kinda miss it. Always so much s**t goin' on, except on nights like tonight, I guess. But that's perfect for us." He grinned, eyeing the yellowblood. He still seemed a little hesitant under the surface maybe, but he'd come around. Zeffer would make sure of that.

PostPosted: Tue Jan 31, 2012 4:24 pm

Observant eyes were trained on the empty street, though momentarily mesmerized by the way the drops hit the pavement and pooled around all the cracks. There was nothing much else to look at, after all. Trolls were his normal source of entertainment. There were none. Well, there was Zeffer. Right, there was something to look at. The yellowblood was just about to turn back when -click- a flash, he blinked. It took a minute to put two and two together, the photographer had been quick about pocketing the offending camera before Aprife could really get a good look at it. But he figured it out and a grin slipped to his lips. "That was a camera, wasn't it?" A good stalker researcher had to know all of the tools of the trade. The fact that the blueblood had snapped a picture without even asking didn't seem to matter. No, Aprife was too consumed with the sudden idea of 'why don't I have one of those?' Not like he could complain, anyway. Nothing was really secret. If he could write notes about people he met on the street, Zeffer could take pictures.

"It was, right?" He had jogged to catch up, only slowing down at the uncomfortable way the metal rings of the notebook chaffed against his bare stomach. Now he was hovering close, sort of peering around as if expecting the camera to be pulled back out to satisfy his needy questioning. Eyes only snapped back to the other's face at the mention of great prices. Probably should have gotten the hint, but instead he began to think that getting a cheap camera might be nice, even though the original point had been to get him some decent rain gear.

Pursing his lips, he turned back to the hivestem as it slowly got smaller. Curling his hands behind his head, he walked backwards while he considered the sight of the familiar building with all the surroundings he saw every single day. "Yeah, that's my hivesteam, been living there forever." It's true, he couldn't really remember living anywhere else. It was small and over-crowded with all of his junk, but it was home. It was easy for him to maneuver around it and Bumbs just flew right over everything. He didn't really care if visitors couldn't get around. Funny, visitors. Because he had those. "The city's the best. I wouldn't wanna live anywhere else." Hands slowly fell away from the back his head as he turned back around, expression vaguely questioning what he meant. "Perfect for us, huh?"

Zeffer laughed, and started to jog himself, figuring that was a pretty good idea. He sucked the cool air into his lungs, sending little splashes of water up with every step he took. He couldn't help but be reminded of how much he loved being out on nights like this. He was tempted to take off at a sprint, but he remained at a steady speed, not wanting to leave Aprife behind. "Yeah, it was. No big deal, right? I like pictures, but they almost always come out shitty." he gave a short little laugh under his breath. Aprife's curiosity wouldn't be satisfied anytime soon, because Zeffer had shoved it into his pocket, where it would be forgotten until he next saw something worthy of remembrance.

"I used to live in a hivestem." Zeffer said, in a tone that made it sound like he'd only just remembered the fact. He deadpanned for a moment before his smirk returned. "This city is pretty sweet. Lotta stuff to do. N' yeah, perfect. Just for us. You'll see. Looks like we're almost there!" he sped up a bit more before charging into the biggest puddle he could find. The stretch of street up ahead was littered with a few trolls, and they hurried along, sometimes dipping into the shops. Zeffer stopped, adopting a thoughtful expression as he rubbed his chin. Where to visit first.

He chose a sort of grocery convenience store, pulling up his hood as he ducked inside, fully expecting Aprife to follow as he stalked off toward the aisles, leaving wet footprints along the way.
PostPosted: Sun Apr 01, 2012 1:11 pm

This time it was the blueblood who started jogging and although Aprife wasn't miffed that he had to speed up again to keep from losing him, he definitely was growing less and less okay with the half-a** solution he had come up with for trying to protect his notebook. It was way too uncomfortable. Hopefully they got where they were going soon, where he could at least pull it out and check the damage and maybe find some less bothersome way to carry it back outside. Dodging around some of Zeffer's more vigorous splashes, he squinted and listened harder through the increased cacophony of wind and rain against his ears.

"No big deal," he agreed, although it certainly didn't mean he was any less interested in the camera. Zeffer seemed done talking about it, though. If it came back out again, Aprife would pounce on the opportunity next time. No screwing it up.

As he listened intently, gathering as much mental information as he could since there was no chance of whipping out his notebook to write it down in the middle of the street in a storm, he found himself wondering shortly where the blueblood was coming from then if he was no longer living in the city. There wasn't much time to ask, though, as he was forced to skirt away from yet another crazy splash, this one the worst of all. If it weren't for the notebook he wouldn't have cared. Well, maybe he would have… Water off the street had to be pretty dirty. Taking a few steps past the other troll after he stopped, Aprife slowed and looked back, tipping his head. Zeffer looked like he was thinking. Where would they end up, he wondered?

A decent-sized convenience store, one he thought maybe he had been in at some point in time. He kept close behind his co-conspirator, if only because he still had no idea he was part of anything other than an average shopping trip with 'really great prices,' so he wasn't sure exactly what he was supposed to be doing.

Zeffer's attention was far from the camera and just about everything else except the task at hand as he stepped into that shop, wet boots squeaking lightly over the tiled floor. The shopkeeper, some blue-blood by the look of it, hardly even glanced up from his magazine to acknowledge the two as they made their way inside, unaware of the mischief that was about to go down. Zeffer kept his hood up as he disappeared down an aisle, eyes sweeping over the merchandise, looking back to make sure Aprife was following. They wouldn't be around the store long, hopefully, and he realized it probably would have been smarter to visit the other place he'd planned to first, but...they were here, now. No use in leaving empty handed. He stopped when he reached a rack full of rainbow colored bottles; a whole display full of every color of faygo you could ever want.

Without a moment's hesitation Zeffer had swung his backpack down and around, and was unzipping it only to begin to carefully slide the bottles in, his tongue sticking out as if he were concentrating. After a moment his eyes darted to Aprife again, and he nodded, wearing a huge, nasty little s**t-eating grin. "Any certain flavor ya like?" he asked in a hushed voice, intending to share whatever kind of haul he managed to get that night. Seeing as Aprife didn't have much in the way of hiding stolen goods, he'd share some of the room in his pack. "Here, put some of this s**t in your pockets." he said in an even tinier whisper, reaching across to grab some obnoxiously colorful candy bars, shoving a couple of those into his pack too and seeming to expect the yellow-blood to do as instructed.

Every so often, he'd glance down the aisle, and all around. As focused as he seemed on getting their 'loot' into his pack, he was also keen on making sure that no one came in and happened to see what they were doing.
PostPosted: Sun May 13, 2012 5:08 pm

After they'd reached the beautiful rainbow display of mediocre soda, Aprife almost immediately began scanning for his favorite flavor, completely unaware that those would be the next words out of the other troll's mouth. The only thing that even pulled his attention away from the rack was the -zuuup- and in that instant he finally understood what great prices had meant all along. A guy as observant as him, it shouldn't have taken so long, but he ducked down right away as if someone they couldn't see was apt to pull out a gun and start shooting at them for shoplifting. "What are you doing?" he hissed in a whisper, watching with widened eyes as Zeffer carefully maneuvered bottle after bottle into his bag. "This is what you were talking about?"

Obviously, considering his reaction, Aprife had never done this before. He had thought about it, sure. Who didn't? But actually stealing was not something he had planned on getting into. He couldn't afford much, but he only needed the basics. Gossip. Now that was his junk food of choice. "Seriously…" he muttered as the candy was shoved into his hands. The aisles were empty save for a discarded fountain drink cup still leaking a bit of slime onto the floor. Didn't mean he wasn't looking around even more than the blueblood. He sort of just… stood there, stuck between what was expected and what he had been taught. You weren't supposed to steal. If you got caught you could get beaten. Still, the yellowblood found himself looking at Zeffer's pack as it began to grow fuller, then back to the faygo display, and an urge welled up. How long had it been since he'd treated himself to anything, really? There was one flavor he really liked… Just once. Just once wouldn't hurt anything. That clerk hadn't been paying attention, his magazine must have been the most interesting thing on Alternia. He wouldn't notice. It would be okay. This would be some great s**t to serve as fodder for one of his secret little stories, too. But only once, that's what he kept telling himself.

As he pushed a few candy bars into his pockets, he muttered out a quick "Pineapple Orange" and shrugged towards the tropical yellow-orange bottle.

The blueblood could only give a muffled snicker at Aprife's reaction, smirking darkly as he met the other's gaze for a moment in the process of shoving another bottle into his bag. "Duhhh." came the sassy retort. The yellowblood was acting like they were trying to get away with murder. Really, he did this all the time...where was he gonna get the beetles to buy good s**t like this? While the majority of his food came from the beasts he helped Arcus hunt for, Zeffer had managed to acquire a pretty massive sweet tooth, and he rarely had the currency to indulge it. So he'd moved onto the next best option; stealing it. No one cared. It wasn't like they were gonna be around forever, so they had to enjoy things while they could.

"Seriously. Now shut up and help me out." he said with a grin, not seeming to really care as Aprife paused. Sure, go ahead and contemplate the repercussions, I'm gonna grab a few more candy bars, don't mind me. It wasn't that Zeffer hadn't been taught the exact same things...but he just didn't care. What they were doing wasn't hurting anyone, not in the long run. Part of it was the food itself, but undeniably, the blueblood also loved the thrill that came along with it. He'd had a few close calls, but had never been caught long enough for a punishment to be doled out. However...that seemed as if it could change. Fast.

"HEY, WHAT THE ******** ARE YOU LITTLE SHITS DOING BACK HERE!!??"

The shopkeeper slid into view at the end of the aisle, a broom clenched in his fists. The guy definitely didn't look happy, and Zeffer had jumped hard when he'd yelled out, initially.

"Aw s**t...cheese it, dude!!" Zeffer cackled as he slammed his backpack shut, already in motion as he swung it onto his back once more. He darted past his yellowblooded accomplice, grabbing his arm and employing a big full body shove to knock the shelf down, much to the despair of the shopkeeper, who was consequently buried in an avalanche of soda bottles and junk food. Zeffer raced down the neighboring aisle toward freedom, all but dragging poor Aprife in the burst of adrenaline he was experiencing. They were almost out when the enraged shopkeeper erupted from the pile of food.

"GET BACK HERE YOU NOOKSUCKING THIEVES!! YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT!!!"

And suddenly, they were in the rain, being chased down by a very angry, broom-wielding blueblood. Trolls leapt off the sidewalk as they saw what was coming, but apart from a few startled stares, no one really tried to intervene. Zeffer was still laughing, his eyes darting wildly, trying to figure out what the hell they were gonna do about this. The blueblood behind them wasn't slowing down...they might actually have to confront the b*****d.
