Subarenae's gait was a nervous one, though she tried very hard not to make it look nervous, as she trekked in a meandering direction towards the outskirts of the Ukuuchu'Wafalme's territory. She'd get her head cuffed in if she was caught... again. Even her father, the most lenient of males she knew, was getting exasperated by her constant "adventures". He'd probably not begrudge her if she up and left completely, even though he'd take a blow to his status. But to keep going out and coming back made her look shifty, she was told.
"You're going to end up a tail end Banu if you keep it up," she mock mimicked her brother, "Or even a Kajira." She'd think the sport more amusing if it didn't ring with a little truth. She knew her mother was starting to look around for a potential male, to nudge her mate towards as a suitor. And she'd been eyeing the stern looking ones. Probably thought little Suba could use a firm hand to rein her in.
"Just one more," Suba promised herself. "One more little exploration and I'll be content, I can settle in and be a good Banu."

She had done it again, Asali had talked her into yet another adventure into treasure hunting. A few days before they had heard a very vague rumor of a ruin around this territory, and that rumor had claimed that there was 'great treasure to be had'. Bah! They were way too close to a pride's territory for her liking, and Damu had heard nothing good of its nature. At least with the few rogue lionesses she had managed to squeeze information from. Perhaps it was just bad experience, but Damu was being cautious nonetheless. Her dark tail flicked out behind her as she took the lead on this expedition, keeping her eyes out for trouble. At the slightest hint of a male, they were turning tail and getting their behinds out of here.
Asali was close behind, her expression far more pleasant than her sister's. She enjoyed stretching their legs and extending their efforts into finding what could very possibly be an awesome treasure. Most of what they found on these sorts of things were ancient metals and wooden artifacts carved into strange shapes, with the rare instance of molded stone amongst the piles. To be far though, Asali mostly enjoyed the hunt and the thrill of looking for the treasure. Mostly they just left it in its place after affording a hefty study of the objects.
Off in the distance, she did notice a brown-pelted figure, but made no mention of it to Damu. If she was lucky, her sister wouldn't notice it... for fear she might cut their adventure short.

Feeling finally satisfied with the distance she'd put between herself and the great lake, Suba set out in earnest with an eager pace. Nothing lifted her spirits like the great potential of the unknown. A shame to have to give all this up someday, but that was just what growing up was about. She peered about to take in the surroundings, trying to line up the terrain markers with her memory. "Now where did I make that first digging," she muttered to herself, turning about to see if anything sparked a familiarity.
She'd been told the stories by her mother, of her grandmother the great digger, who would find the bones of strange monsters buried under the ground. Mother had helped her with finding them, long before she'd come to the pride. Suba herself had never found any solid proof of the buried bones in her own backyard, but... a while back she'd done a dig that bore promise, and then had forgotten about it until recently. The half finished job left her itching to take it up again.
She finally turned in the direction of the two others and nearly jerked out of her fur in surprise. "Oh!" she shouted, before she realized they were lionesses, not Pads. Thank goodness. "...Hello," she added.

The sudden exclamation of 'oh' certainly got the darker sister's attention, her head jerking up and meeting the gaze of a rather young lioness. At first she considered to stick with their path and just walk past the little thing, but even Damu wasn't that cold hearted or distant. Being the smaller of the two sisters, she was quicker to react and acknowledged the young one's presence with a nod of her head and a flick of her ears in her direction. "Hello to you as well," she replied, wondering if they were closer to the pride than she had previously thought. If so... it would be prudent to turn around quickly. She didn't get the chance to think this out further, for a rush of wind and dust at her side told her that Asali had taken off toward the youth. Damn.
"Greetings," the large, pale lioness spoke as she approached at a brisk trot. Everything from her gait to her demeanor was friendly, as her pale yellow eyes held nothing but joy. "I don't suppose you've heard of any ruins around here? My sister and I can't seem to track them down, but-" and she was cut off by Damu quickly interjecting.
"But I'm sure they're around here somewhere. Just haven't been looking hard enough," she smiled, though it was a forced one as if she were hiding something. Which she was. The last thing she wanted was to have some young whelp find the treasure before they got to do it themselves! Where was the adventure in that?
Asali chuckled and shook her head, vaguely aware of Damu's concerns. She shared them, slightly, but it couldn't hurt to be pointed in the right direction. "Yes, as my sister was saying, we're sure they're around here somewhere, but haven't the slightest clue where. Might you have heard of them?" Enlisting the help of the young stranger didn't bother her at all. After all, it nots like they kept anything, usually.

Subarenae gulped as she watched the quick back and forth dialogue of the lionesses, and backed up on instinct. She'd thought she'd lucked out running into females instead of a Pad, but these two acted so excitable! It made her both nervous and pleased at the same time, which was very confusing. She desperately tried to keep track of the conversation as it jumped from mouth to mouth.
"...I am Subarenae, daughter of Pad Rasul," she threw in, not so much in response to their words but as an attempt to drag it back to some semblance of understanding. Introductions were always a good place to start. "You're looking for ruins?" What a strange question. Were these even Banu? She tensed in surprise when it struck her.. they weren't! They were outsiders, rogues! Oh, she was in for it now. If father found out she'd been consorting with rogues... but... her curiosity had perked up.
"There's some strange structures over to the east of here, on top of that near outcropping," she answered, pointing into the distance. "I'm not sure if they're ruins or not, but they don't look like natural structures." And now that she was looking in that direction, she realized, that was also in the area of where she'd done her digging. She eyed the females warily. Would it even be safe to dig around them? She'd come so far just to abandon it.
