She had managed to sneak away from the watchful eye of her mother for just this one time it seemed. While she didn't want to worry her mother, the young cub wanted to see more of the world and less of the den. Huo Banshui made her way through the tall grass, her flame-tipped tail swaying behind her as she walked, watching the birds and being mindful of any possibly dangers. Dangers, hah. She was a proud little lioness, a tough one at that. Not only that but she was also the daughter to a god! She was the one who was dangerous! Mohombi looked through the lands, keeping his eyes peeled for any sort of danger that may be lurking. He didn't know these lands and thus did not know what kind of creatures made their home there. But...these lands were much brighter, more lively. Nothing bad could live in a place like that, right? Bad things were drawn towards dark and gloomy places...right? Of course he had to be careful. He had a lioness with him this time and Sambi had gone ahead of them, far too excited to possibly wait for them. "I think we may be close, Ankara!"

Ankara was bouncing slightly in her steps. Not only was she now travelling with a companion, one she was quite enjoying having around, but they were also making there way to a curious new land his brother had spoken off. Sambi had even gone ahead of him to this place, a fact that only made her more excited to see it. It certainly was a lovely place so far, so bright and cheerful a land that she couldn’t help but smile being in it. “I can’t wait to see this place your brother went off to! It must be a nice pride to live in such lovely lands.”

"I'm sure he's overjoyed that we're finally coming. He had been wanting to come here for so long, ever since our father told us stories." Mohombi bit his tongue after those words came out of his mouth. He had not spoken of his father in some time and usually it was in an argument or was the cause of one. This time it had come out without thinking about it. "I'm sure the pride is amazing. Maybe that rock over there is where they live." Of course he was right though, his head motioning towards Pride Rock.
Huo Banshui on the other hand was walking away from Pride Rock so it was no surprise when she spotted the two along the way as she hopped onto a rock to get a better view. The cub kept her body low to it though, her ears turned forward to listen and her body poised to bolt should they be a danger like her mother had told her about.

Ankara paused a moment, glancing over at Mohombi. It was the first time he had made any mention of family other than his brother, Sambi. “They must have been wonderful stories then.” She looked away towards the rock he had just mentioned, gasping softly at it’s sight. “I have never seen such a curious formation before! And you really think the pride lives there?” Ankara glanced between the rock and Mohombi, before looking back. It was certainly a curious sight to behold. Pace quickened a bit in her excitement to get closer. Now not only was she curious to meet the pride here, but she certainly wanted a better look at this large rock formation ahead.

"I'm pretty sure they would. If this is where great kings are from, then it would be no surprise if they lived in something like that." Mohombi replied, speeding his pace up to try and keep up with the lioness. She was probably more excited then Sambi was when he told him they were going finally. Why had he agreed so readily to her but had denied his own brother for so long? Thoughts ran through his mind as he jogged after her until a small, but stern voice finally spoke up.
"Stop right there!" Huo Banshui had mustered all of her courage and addressed the two rogues directly. The cub swallowed hard as she sat up on her rock, almost at height with Mohombi's chin if he were standing beside her. "What business have you in the Pridelands?" They were strange, new, but not odd looking. It was often that lions that looked similar in marking joined their ranks.

“I certainly can see why great kings would choose this place then.” Ankara glanced back, smiling widely, to see he was speeding up to keep pace with her. As a voice called out she slowed her pace, glancing around to find it’s owner. A cub caught her attention, once sitting atop a rock. “Oh my.” Ankara couldn’t help but chuckle softly at the little cub who seemed to be trying to act as guard for these lands. “Hello there.” She further slowed her pace to a slow walk, not wanting to move too quickly towards the cub lest they frighten the poor thing. “I am Ankara, and this,” She gestured towards her companion with her nose, ”is Mohombi. We have come in the hopes of joining this pride of great kings and beautiful lands.”

Mohombi was obviously taken by surprise by the sudden voice in the fact he stopped so suddenly, searching for it. Then Ankara started speaking to her. How had he not seen that red cub sitting taller then the grass? Perhaps he had just gotten soft in his scouting, who knew. "As she stated, we wish to join this pride. Are you from here?"
"I am," Huo Banshui replied, her head held high. "We are in the middle of a time of hardship. Perhaps if you two were to escort me back to Pride Rock," She looked back towards the large rock formation and then to them again. "Perhaps then they would let you join. We are in a bit of a fit with hyenas and having two full-grown lions should deter even the bravest for at least now. Especially this close to our home." Maybe her mother and the pride would be pleased with her as well with her efforts.

“Oh, how unfortunate to hear the pride is in a time of hardship. We would of course be willing to come with you back to Pride Rock.” Ankara glanced nervously over at Mohombi, a bit unsure about this new information they had gotten. A war going on, between hyena and lion. “Well even with this war going on, it is surely still a lovely place, right?” Another quick, nervous glance shot over at Mohombi. She was unsure if she liked the idea of leaving a war-torn home to simply enter another, but perhaps it was not the same, not as bad, but she couldn’t force down the unease she had.

"We'll be glad to escort you back and help your pride where we can." He finally chimed in finally, taking a step forward. Death was always around somewhere, in one pride or another. Wars happened but from the looks of a it, a healthy cub meant that they were doing well despite the hardships. "Lead the way." As the cub moved away from the pair, Mohombi turned his head to look towards her. "I'm sure this is a great place. It's obvious they're still doing well if they're still having cubs. Besides," A grin spread on his face as he took a step after Huo Banshui, "I'll protect you." And with that, he followed after her.
"I'm Huo Banshui by the way. You can just call me Bannie." The young cub replied as she jumped down from the rock. Her mom would definitely be happy with her now! Huo Banshui moved through the grass towards her home, glancing behind her to make sure her 'bodyguards' were following.

Ankara nodded. “Yes, you are right. with cubs running around they must be doing alright for themselves.” A smile spread again across her maw. “I’m sure you will.” with that she turned to follow the cub, who introduced herself before hopping off the rock. “Well it is nice to meet you, Bannie. I can’t wait to meet the rest of your pride.” It would be alright. Cubs were a good sign, and surely a pride of great kings would be able to defend itself just fine.
