The Basics  Name: Chaaya Devoti
Chaaya - Derived from the Hebrew name Chaya, meaning "life." Chaaya in and of itself is an Indian name meaning "shadow" so her name has a double meaning.
Devoti - From the word Devotion, it's pretty self-explanatory where her name is concerned. It was chosen due to her love of what she sees as her calling in life.

Personality: When other trolls are out FLARPing, Chaaya is indoors learning to cook. She is not the type of troll for things she deems as useless and unimportant. Instead, Chaaya will almost always have something to do including cooking, cleaning, studying and many other things others would think of as chores.
Chaaya has been known to overwork herself to the point that she faints. If Dogmom doesn't make her, Chaaya will work through times she should be eating or sleeping. All of the food Chaaya makes usually goes to the army barracks, saving very little for herself which may be why she is so stunted in the growth department. But to Chaaya, cooking is not a punishment, but a reward. To relax after she ends up dring herself to exhaustion, she will create some sort of delicious dessert for herself.
Due to her dedication, Chaaya's food is becoming very good and is on the rise to being great. She has a flair for doing odd combinations and playing with them until they end up being tasty. Chaaya's food is not the best yet but she is dedicated to making something for which she will become famous.
Her biggest dream is to serve a meal to Troll Gordon Ramsay and have him compliment her hard work. And possibly to own her own restaurant. Whichever comes first.
Chaaya has no favorite dish in particular, as she doesn't like to cook the same thing more than once. If she were to pick a favorite ingredient, it would be milk produced by hoofbeasts.
When Chaaya does decide to venture outside away from home she is as prickly as a pear. She has a low self-esteem due in large part to her short stature though she doesn't feel like she fits in with others. Chaaya often feels like she's better than others due to her focus and drive which she feels other trolls her age lack. This in turn comes off as being a know-it-all and makes others troll her for that reason, which makes her feel even less secure in herself. Others' opinions shouldn't matter to Chaaya but they do and it hurts her to admit it. This, among other things, has opened her up as a trolling target. In response to this, Chaaya has developed several defense mechanisms.
Her short temper is perhaps the most notorious of them all. If you so much as look at Chaaya the wrong way, out comes her frying pan. She will give you a chance to change the way that you are behaving and if you don’t, she will behave worse than drunken Troll Snooki. Chaaya will resort to all manner of attack: scratching, kicking, biting, knife throwing and of course, her specialty of dealing out a mean serving of whoopass with her frying pan.
Another notable defense mechanism is her competitive attitude. If you think that Chaaya is too small to do something safely or just small in general she will not only prove that she can but that she will do it better. Often, she will do things that she really shouldn’t because it will endanger her but she doesn’t care – she is that determined. She doesn’t often succeed but she tries nonetheless and will continue to try regardless.
The one thing about Chaaya that she will never admit is that she loves to write stories. Her stories are not the average kind – they involve the people she knows and pails - lots and lots of pails. She is embarrassed by her stories but she is often driven to write them and fantasize of things that might happen.
Deep down inside, Chaaya longs for an amazing red romance but it’s hard for her to show it. Every time she has opened herself up, Chaaya has been hurt by another so she doesn't want to allow herself to repeat history. But if you’re dedicated, Chaaya will eventually let you close enough to know her. She may come off as gruff and often mean, but she is a dedicated friend. Any moirail she may eventually earn is one that she will keep for life regardless of their blood color. She believes that as long as a troll is trying, their blood color doesn't matter.
Strengths:
--+ Hardworking - Chaaya adores work and isn't afraid of taking up her share as well as another trolls. If you put her to a task, she will work unhindered until it is done - even if that takes several days. Chaaya will not break or eat unless Dogmom forces her to do so. She prides herself on her dedication to her work.
--+ Caring - Deep down inside, Chaaya cares about others. When she sees another troll, Chaaya wants to take care of them even if they don't really reciprocate her red emotions. The reason other trolls can get to her is because she cares. Chaaya hides it, but she can't help but to embrace the hurt of loving others - even the lower blood castes.
--+ Creative - Chaaya was hatched with a spatula in her hand and a desire to create beautiful dishes in her soul. Well, not really. It's more like Chaaya was flipping through the channels of her television and spotted Troll Gordon Ramsay on one of his cooking channels. After that, she was obsessed with making things as beautiful as the ones she'd seen him make. Chaaya painstakingly learned to cook and how to create unique flavors as well as how to display them beautifully. This is Chaaya's favorite trait about herself.
Flaws:
--+ Napoleon Complex - Chaaya hatched significantly smaller than the other trolls she knows. Due to this, she was often trolled by other wigglers. It got to be so bad that Chaaya developed a complex about being smaller. She is constantly trying to make up for that fact with bluster and noise, and if anyone so much as hints that Chaaya is small, expect her frying pan to come out and a battle to begin. She loathes that she is smaller and would rather die than to admit that all that trolling got to her.
--+ Competitive - Chaaya has a constant need to prove that she is just as good as everyone else. When she was trolled for her height, Chaaya set out to beat everyone as much she could. This quickly turned into a driving need. Once she was better at something than another troll, Chaaya couldn't get enough. She constantly challenged others to things and worked to be the best. Deep down, Chaaya knows that she really shouldn't be so competitive but it's so hard to turn off after all this time. A great deal of times, Chaaya will do things that are dangerous to herself or others because of the drive to be the best. This includes long hours practicing cooking (often to the point of exhaustion) as well as in battle. Chaaya can become so bent on beating her opponent that she will leave room for a maiming blow or worse.
--+ Obsessive - When Chaaya was just a tiny wiggler, Dogmom forced her obsession of cleanliness on her. If there was even the smallest of flecks of dirt landed on Chaaya's body, Dogmom would wash her clean. As she grew, Chaaya began to demand to be rushed to the cleansing vestibule when she considered herself "filthy." This obsession eventually branched out to a full blown disorder - items had to be in multiples of five or five inches apart. Chaaya has no negative feelings at all toward this trait - to her, having an obsessive compulsive disorder is just another part of her being. It's like the fact that she's left handed - something she could work at and change but really sees no need to do.

Home The city - Chaaya lives in a communal hivesystem compartment which is kept spotless. The walls are covered with cooking related decorations and tons of posters of Troll Gordon Ramsay. The kitchen is the main focus of the hive and it is kept methodically neat. Every single item is kept in a neatly labeled jar or canister. Everything is kept in multiples of five - knives, plates, pans, etc.

Lusus A small dogbeast resembling a Tibetan Spaniel that has horns similar to Chaaya's, Dogmom is on the smaller side barely coming up to the middle of Chaaya's calves. Chaaya learned all of her obsessive behavior from Dogmom's strange obsession with cleanliness a fact that is strange compared to other dogbeasts. Chaaya feels a closeness to Dogmom because they are both a little bit out there. Because of their closeness, Dogmom and Chaaya are rarely seen apart.
