Tonight was one of his nights dedicated to collecting energy and that was just what he'd been doing. It wasn't the park, nor any bar, he had taken to this cold December night. Rather he had decided to take to the ice skating rink in town. He'd been keeping to the outside crowds and moving past people gathering as he moved amongst the people. Watching as he drained their energy, slipping the balls of energy up his coat sleeve, he watched as people seemed to wilt with sudden tiredness. The cold chill air had his cheeks painted pink as his gloved hand slid into his pocket again, depositing another energy orb into his pocket. Tonight wasn't a bad night and no one thought of a thing of him moving around and acting like a normal teenager. But he knew better than to stick around too long, he didn't want people to catch on or to draw any senshi to his location and make a scene. Making a scene was the one thing he really didn't want to do, that could bring unwanted attention and dislike for his side in this war.
Slowly he slipped away from the people and down the plaza, which lead up to the skating rink, he headed for the main street and joined the normal populace walking along the wet sidewalk. His hands slipped into the pockets of his coat as he moved, his head down in a bid to hid his features to a point. He didn't want some senshi seeing him, while they were in civilian form, and to realize who and what they were looking at. Again, he didn't want some public scene or any scene. He didn't want a fight, he'd been working hard to avoid fights. He didn't need, or want, to add to the nightmares which were only just starting to lessen in frequency.
Rounding a corner he turned into an alley and a moment later he was up on the building roof, teleporting rather then climbing ladders or jumping onto roof tops, was a nice thing really.
Glancing around wet slate colored eyes took in the glittering lights of the city, this part of the city hadn't been damaged by the battles raging across the city and if it had, and he didn't know, then the city had paid a lot to make sure it looked nice and new. It didn't look like some of the trashed areas in the city that the city was too lazy or uncaring, maybe just unwilling, to repair. When this whole war ended the city would need a lot of fixing....Sighing as his mind wandered down the path of depressing thoughts, people living in that area of the city where the streets were broke apart, buildings damaged, and all manner of damage had taken place and the people trying to celebrate the holidays amidst the damage and trying to ignore how pitiful and disheartening their area looked. It was sad really.

She was perched, nay, sitting, one ankle over the other, on the building beside him. She only powered up the moment she felt his energy in the crowd, though she did not appear in this place looking for a fight. Under any other circumstance, Kallichore would have been happy to jump Benitoite, but oddly, the holidays made her feel a bit more at ease. Or simply more forgiving than usual. Her newly-formed white wings splayed out behind her, belt accouterments spilling out behind that. It seemed that the higher in rank she went, the more ridiculous her fuku became, though it was less of a hazard to run now than it was before. At least her boots were in one piece.
Something seemed to be bothering the captain. Was he a captain now? His energy signature certainly seemed stronger than it did the last time they met on the battlefield. She'd heard through the grapevine that he had blood on his hands - senshi blood. Brown eyes narrowed at him from across the way, but the senshi refrained from speaking her mind just then. Nothing but foul language would have spilled out of her had she allowed it.
"Head filled with heavy thoughts, Captain?" she said evenly, glancing away from him to gaze out onto the city. The entire thing seemed to be a teeming warzone and yet the people within still moved as if things would be peaceful soon. Was it the holidays at work again? Did the yuletide spirit permeate into the Negaverse just as easily? Somehow, Kallichore doubted it, though if she was proven wrong, she wouldn't have minded. Sometimes she found herself weary of it all until something spurred her back into action.

It was a powered up senshi, an eternal if his senses were right, which caught his attention but he didn't bother to pay it any mind. If they were going to attack he'd be finding an exit and taking it as fast as he could. He wasn't up for fighting, and he didn't want to go taking on an eternal either. He had other things to do with his night, such as energy gathering, and wanted to continue with those things.
Turning, blond hair brushing across his face, he turned his blue eyes onto the dark haired senshi. Her. How lovely, he didn't like her, he well remembered the last meeting they'd had and that nasty attack of hers and what he'd see. He didn't like her, not one bit, as much as he wouldn't have minded beating on her a few short months ago he wasn't looking to fight her right now, hadn't thought of it in months.
A slight tilt of his head was bestowed upon the eternal senshi, a single hand raised to brush his blond hair behind an ear. "Thoughts, but of what they are or their weight is none of your concern." He spoke, while straightening his head to gaze at the senshi on the other roof top. "I'm surprised you haven't decided to attack me, like last time, considering I've done the very same thing I had been then." Gathering energy. It seemed to be something which set every senshi off, or at least the vast majority of the ones he'd dealt with.He wasn't upset that she wasn't attacking him though, quite the contrary he was glad.

Of course he'd be surprised that she wasn't jumping down his throat. Quite honestly, she was surprised he wasn't doing the same. It seemed to be the natural order of things. But tonight was full of interesting goings on. Kallichore rested her hand on an open palm, leaning over slightly to look at him. His hair had changed, she noted, as did his uniform. He had a nice coat and a matching pair of boots. The Negaverse appeared to have a universally good sense of fashion - either that or being able to dress oneself properly was an entrance requirement.
"Maybe I'm sizing you up?" she explained, giving him a once-over from head to toe. She hadn't come here for a fight, but if he wanted to instigate something, who was she to deny him? "Or maybe I'm not here for you at all. I do have to wonder why you're not being given a break from your Negaverse duties. Hasn't Queen Beryl ever heard of Christmas? Does she not believe in time off?"
A chuckle escaped her. She didn't envy the captain at all, having to work like a slave for someone he may not even have seen. From what she gathered, some lieutenants had never even heard of Beryl, much less realized that they were working for her. While parts of the Negaverse appeared and functioned in a highly organized fashion, integral portions of the story of the war were left out for a lot of the new recruits. Kallichore felt pity for those who were ignorant. She herself was lucky enough to get the full story fairly early in her awakening.

She was right about the sense of fashion, it was nice, and his coat he did fancy quite a bit. If only he could get a similar coat to wear about as a civilian. Even if it wouldn't boast some high end label he'd still like to have a coat like this one, but he was also sure he couldn't find it and wearing it about might help senshi make the connection between his civilian self and his powered self. That wasn't' something he wanted to do, hand himself over to them on a platter really.
"You didn't do much of that the last time we encountered one another. So I doubt your doing that now." Now he crossed his arms and quirked a curious brow. "It's December 25th, already? I don't even believe Christmas vacation for schools, or colleges, has started yet and your wondering about Christmas vacation for the Negaverse?" Laughing, he simply couldn't hold it back, his arms tightened about his midsection. "The very notion of vacation, especially this early on, is utterly preposterous! And it's not as if we have a set in stone schedule for when we must go out and collect energy." He'd be taking off Christmas night, he knew that now. That was time to spend with his family.
"You really are lacking in knowledge, a pity really." That I'm better than you tone of voice shining through as he spoke, his nose even lifted a bit into the air as his head tilted up ever so slightly. "But the fact you make assumptions is really a crime, and a good show of how little you know." A shake of his head followed this statement. Did she honestly think they had go work a holiday, that they had set schedules? Whoever told her this, or was it herself? needed to check facts or simply not speak.
"You act like I don't take breaks, like none of us do."

Kallichore lifted her knee and rested her chin on it, wrapping both arms and elongated sleeves around it to prevent her from exposing anything. Thankfully, her new fuku came with tights, but she still didn't like the idea of flashing someone quite like this. The senshi studied her opposite before speaking again. "Oh, I know school vacations haven't started, but I imagined that Queen Beryl would at least have a calendar out and let people know when they'd get some time off. Maybe even put up a tree. Doesn't she think you all have families, or do you give that up when you corrupt yourselves?" There was some animosity in her voice, but most of it was covered by sheer curiosity. With so many Chaos factions running around now, it was hard to keep everyone straight.
Her perceived lack of knowledge made the senshi bristle a little, but she let it slide. Surely she could jump him like nobody's business, but she wasn't in the mood for it. "I myself don't take breaks often. How else am I supposed to keep tabs on all of you? Speaking of which..." Kallichore shifted to her left, leaning precariously for a moment before snapping back to her original position to watch him.
"I'd like to know how you feel with all that blood on your hands, Captain." She saw the news. The poor senshi in the bus terminal didn't escape many other Order soldier's eyes. That death marked the Captain as a killer - something many other Negas probably already did, but there was something brutal about it. Something that changed who you were on a fundamental level. Surely senshi killed others as well, but not with the same purpose, the same intent. Kallichore, while disheveled and extreme in her actions, was still clean.

"You think she does what? Magic up some calendar for us all or that she goes to a printer and has them run off?" A brow, the one raised, rose higher. Honestly a calendar...with pictures of what? The hottest members of the Negaverse? The idea actually had him wanting to wrinkle his nose in utter distaste. The idea of that was tacky, as was a calendar in general. "We don't have our nights off scheduled. I'll take off when I want, and work the nights I can. Christmas won't be one I'm out working...so no need to stalk around looking for me." A tight, false, smile was flashed at the senshi.
"A stalker, is that what you are? It sounds a bit like that...or just someone obsessed a bit too much. Perhaps you should take some time off..." He might have said more, suggested a vacation as it seemed she could do with one, but whatever he was going to say wasn't spoken. The mention of that, of his tainted morals, his stained hands, stilled him and stopped the flow of words. She knew...no one else he'd encountered had a clue of the true coloring of his soul.
Taking a moment, reeling from her words and the truth which rung through him, he finally found his voice. "And torture is much better? I'd say that stains ones hands even further. I wonder how the senshi who have tortured others like the blood on their hands." He knew he hadn't been there for that, he couldn't even begin to feel whatever those there had felt, but he knew it was something he could throw back at the senshi. It was the only thing he could do, aside from remain silent. He didn't like her reminding him of what he had done, had become for that instant, for a moment he felt anger well up and boil within him only to be replaced with sadness and depression a moment later. Hiding, masking, his feeling she stood watching her as calmly as he could, calmer than he felt.

The eternal senshi smiled and shrugged at the suggestion that Beryl had her own little office, or perhaps office jockies, making calendars for her and her underlings. "Oh why not? Surely you have your own NegaStaples down there or something. What else are the lowest of the low supposed to do with themselves? Like the ones who can't even collect energy! Unless Beryl and the other generals really like Starbucks, in which case, I stand impressed." It was relieving to know that at least one Negaverser was planning some time off at Christmas to spend it with family. Perhaps that would put their heads correctly on their shoulders - they could see who this war is hurting most.
Stalker? Oh, she'd been called much worse, and by members of her own Court to boot. "I do plan on taking some time off, yes, in case you're interested. But," and she raised her hand, one finger in the air to indicate one stipulation. "don't go causing trouble, Captain, because I'd be so sad to know it wasn't me who may have stopped you." Obsessive? Definitely. Kallichore knew she was an embraced it to the fullest.
"Torture is one step back from murder if that's what you want to hear. I wonder too how senshi who torture live with themselves. I wouldn't know." The reply came with a nonchalant shrug. While her attack could be construed as torture, it wasn't like she went about tying people to chairs and subjected them to it. The Blood Moon did a great many things in the proverbial moral shadows, but Kallichore wasn't around for the worst of it. That kidnapping and torture operation stained those senshi forever, though somehow Kallichore doubted it meant anything to those who participated. The Captain was another story.
With a sigh, the eternal continued. "I'm not here to jump you about the killing, Captain, but I can warn you - other senshi know about this and are probably incensed about it. Rightly so. Many of them have never hurt a Negaverser to the point of death. Death is a very heavy thing in its finality - it makes the war seem so much more real and concrete. But I don't doubt that you'll be a high priority on a lot of senshi's lists. A vacation would likely do you more good than you know." It wasn't a stern warning, but there was a seriousness about it that Kallichore had trouble conveying while keeping her voice as even as possible.

"You speak of death as if it's the worst thing one can do. In my opinion you would be wrong. Torture and child soliders are the worst, both being crimes your side has committed - not mine. So if anything your side should be hanging their heads in shame." He hadn't spoken, aside from once before, about his own stained hands and perhaps it was time to even come close to the topic; even if he wouldn't out right say he'd killed.
He had noted her voice wasn't quite so....solid, not like usual. She seemed to have difficulty speaking as she was, did she care about him? How interesting, it wasn't common to find a senshi who cared in the least for their enemy. "I'm sure others know and I'm also quite sure I can get out of a situation should I find myself in one. I have reached the point where I can teleport." And if he needed to he could always get himself out of such a fight, or call for back up if t were necessary and escape impossible. The Negaverse was his second family and they wouldn't leave one of their own out to fend for himself in an impossible situation. He knew of at least two General's who would be there as fast as humanly, or inhumanly, possible to help him should he need it and call for it. He didn't say this though, let her think they were disorganized and unfamily like if she did. He didn't know what her thoughts on their organization was, and honestly didn't care as they were her opinions.
For a moment he wondered if he should even address her idea of a NegaStaples, people who couldn't collect energy and then decided to address it; why not? No harm really.
"Every member, when they first join, learns how to collect energy. No member is so ill prepared by whomever brings them in that they cannot even collect energy. We are not incompetent in our duties to teach the newest members and to show them how to perform their duties. We also do not leave them unknowing of just why it is we fight. As far as Starbucks goes...I think you need to find a better coffee place if you think their any good." A wrinkle of his nose showing his dislike for the place. His gloved hands slid into his pockets, but they didn't come out with some paint brush they remained in the pockets.

If there was anything they could agree on, it was that child soldiers were one of the worst things about this war. Destiny seemed to pick them without realizing how young they were and how dangerous the war itself was. They could easily be killed if a Nega decided to do it. "I don't agree with it either. I wish it didn't have to happen and I wish I could stop it. Kids don't belong on the battlefield." And she left it at that, figuring that the cats must be doing it and how could she stop them?
Kallichore knew that, at some point, the Negaverse officers learned to teleport, but didn't know it was at Captain stage. Now she knew. Benitoite's explanation about how the Negaverse worked internally, no matter how vague, was news to her. She knew they were organized - much more so than the milling senshi around Destiny City, but just how organized... all this information would be stored away for future use.
"Maybe we'll all get lucky and this winter holiday will be less violent than the last. I think we all deserve even a little respite." she said, noting that neither one of them was attempting to kill the other. Perhaps this meeting was going to be entirely peaceful. "It's not easy leading double lives amongst people who don't even know there's a war going on."

If Destiny was the one picking the children to fight someone needed to kill Destiny, it was making a huge error. He'd encountered those little children senshi more than once, and he wasn't comfortable with them or their place in this whole conflict. It didn't feel right and he knew it was a weak spot, one he was proud to have. He was proud that he wouldn't fight or hurt one of the children, senshi or not. Someone had decided, Destiny perhaps, that those white moon kitties were to awaken little kids. He was fairly sure, at least he hoped so, that they hadn't been senshi in their past life while so young. "Then stop it, find a way. Or protect them, keep them from harms way. I've already encountered one all on her own, it's unsafe. They are innocents who needn't be involved in something they likely can't fully grasp." Who could though? Could a solider even, until he'd seen combat and drawn anothers blood? It seemed the only way to grasp war fully was to commit some atrocity, but no child so young should be subjected to the sights and duties of a war all in order to understand it.
"I don't know how the last holiday was. But it would be nice, for the people of this city. I wouldn't enjoy being called away from Christmas dinner, or some other important tradition." He spoke, his vice a cool whisper that carried to her. He had a family, indeed, and they were close, as much as he disliked long hours spent with his cousins. And being called for duty, of any sort, would be difficult to go to but he'd have to. He didn't want his holidays interrupted, he was hoping for a nice holiday - a normal holiday.
"Seeing as we don't seem inclined to attack each other, why not join me on this roof top." Raising a hand he made a motion to he, to come to him. Curling one finger after it was pointed toward her.

"Believe me, had I met any so far, they'd have someone to protect them. As it stands right now," she sighed, chewing on her lip slightly, "I have yet to see one in person. Still, if the Negaverse can vow not to harm them, then maybe someone will escape this war with their innocence intact." How many young senshi had there been, really? Kallichore knew Callisto, fellow senshi and Jovian, was incredibly young. Wasn't she fourteen? Fifteen? And chibi senshi were said to be even younger. How on earth could it possibly be fair to expect them to fight in a war not meant for their eyes? Children were meant to be carefree, playful and free of responsibility. Saddling them with all the baggage that came with being a senshi was unfair to say the very least.
When Benitoite admitted that he hoped not to be called away, Kallichore tilted her head. "You can't go out when you want? You're on call all the time? That seems unfair, especially around this time of year. Don't the upper echelons of the Negaverse have family to spend time with too?"
His invitation did not go unnoticed, and with a click of her heels, the eternal senshi was sharing the same roof as the captain, her belts making leather-flicking sounds against each other through the air. She was very capable of defending herself should he choose to attack - and the same could be spoken of him. Still, being able to just talk was a welcome change, if only temporary.

"I only speak for myself when I say I won't touch one of those little senshi. I cannot speak for others...they still are likely in danger and this being war, and them getting in to things, they are likely to walk out of this jaded and damaged." He spoke, his voice taking on a note of coldness. He felt for those children involved in this, and he hated to think of what had or would happen to them. It made him hate those cats, they had no right to drag innocent children into a war. "Why not make it your duty to find them, and protect them? Perhaps a better use of your time...especially such an esteemed senshi as yourself." He spoke, gesturing to her wings, indicating that she being an eternal should spend her time protecting the young.
"I've no doubt they have family, I'm sure we all do in fact. However protecting the freedoms of the people of Earth do come first and while I would not like to give up a holiday, time spent with family and such, I also recognize that if I must that it is for something important. Knowing that alone I know I would give up my holiday." However much he may dislike it he also knew duty did come first over many things. In the long run it was his hope they could win this war and somehow, he didn't know how, pick up their lives and move on in peace.

Kallichore shrugged lightly, stepping in a short pattern back and forth in front of the Captain. Make it her mission, says he? "I have my missions, Captain. I have no doubts that others will also try to protect the little ones. But if, say, I can be more proactive and protect them from your people, then I'd much rather do that. The best defense is a good offense, or so they say." Her voice drifted off to a moment, mentally checking his name off of her list of Negas to take out due to harm brought against chibi senshi. The fact that he's killed someone else, though... that just made Benitoite a much higher target for, what was it the Jovians wanted to do? Purify? Would such a thing work on the unwilling?
Perhaps one day, she'd live to find out.
"Somehow, I highly doubt there will be many powered people running around during the holiday. Most would likely welcome the break." Brown eyes looked out across the city, which was turning in for the evening. Lights were dimming, stores were closing and the wind was getting chillier. "That's my guess, anyway. I'm like you - I'd take to the streets to stop someone from doing something stupid if it came to that, but maybe we'll all just be able to relax, if even for one day."

"I should hope others try to protect them. It's still an injustice that they have been brought in to this and no one, to my knowledge, has tried to put a stop to it. However, I must say I don't speak to all senshi much less on this matter. But someone should speak with those horrid cats you people seem to commune with." Indeed, she was correct. A good offense was a good defense, he didn't like just playing defense in the general definition though he'd had to do so against that chibi. He'd only tried to pick her up, intending to settle her into a garbage can, in order to end her wish to provoke a fight with him.
Store lights died but the lights which always made up a large city remained, lighting up the night sky and effectively blocking out the majority of the stars. Perhaps their city should in-act one of those dark sky things...? So more stars could be seen at night, cut down on the amount of lights in the city. "Relaxing...as I said it would be nice t spend time with family. Though I will admit I will still patrol in the evening, when all the activities are over with." Once he got back to his and Lily's he would go out for a walk. That would allow him to do something for the Negaverse and to also fulfill his family duties/wants. He'd make sure anyone out was safe, and no fights were going on, he wouldn't be gathering energy.
"Let's hope no one is out, or very few are. It'll make my evening out short and enjoyable, something nice before turning in to bed."
