Fergus sniffed at the ground near the trail, and a curious smell wafted up his nose. He quickly threw his head back in disgust.
"Yep, I'm sure that wild bore was here not long ago" he said to himself with a cough.
The bores in the area dig up the land and make a mess, not to mention they were aggressive and nothing pleasant to wake up to. To keep them at bay Fergus had come up with some "creative" ideas; once he dressed himself as a swamp monster and had a stand off with a wild hog, he successfully frightened it away and used that method effectively until the hogs started to appear at all ends of the territory.
To fix this hole in his defenses, Flannery helped him to make a few nets to capture the squealing little beasts. He did his best to remember how she set them up. He first threw the net over a hanging branch,(this took him several tries to throw it accurately high enough) and then had to pull the rope to suspend the net and secure it in a way that it could be tripped if pulled gently. (this took him even longer because he kept tripping it himself)
After his trap was set and ready to go, stopped to marvel at his work for a moment, it was then when he realized he was missing bait. It was already in a prime place, so close to the trail, but hog's didn't use paths like Soq did.
Fergus fussed around, scavenging for food and bait, when he remembered Lemon had dug up carrots the other day. He had stole a few of them this morning and they were delicious, as much as he disliked the thought of sacrificing such amazing carrots, he knew the bore would not be able to resist.
Confident in his choice of bait, he left his trap and pile of carrot in their proper place, just off the trail. All he had to do now was wait for the stinking pigs to trip the trap and sound the alarm. Pigs made the most fuss when upset or caught in a poor situation, all that shrill squealing could be heard from quite a distance and they made their own alarm. But because the trap was not far down the trail from his camp, he was confident he would catch that pig, and wanted to be close when he did.
He waited in the camp, and remained alert from the excitement, but after some time of waiting, he began to doze off a bit, nodding his head in his exhaustion.

The purple mare had been wandering for a long time now and didn't even bother to stop for food on the way. She was always doing that to the point where she wouldn't eat either all day or for hours on end. She didn't understand it at all, but she supposed it was her way of not over gorging herself. Right now she didn't care if she ate or not even though he stomach was grumbling and was clearly against her wishes at the moment. So she snorted and walked further on before her eyes caught sight of something that looked rather delicious. What was it? A carrot? It was near one of the trails and honestly if she wasn't so damn hungry she would have just kept on going. She didn't care too much for randomly placed food since it always meant something bad, but right now she didn't have the time to choose.
"Hmmm....random carrot and a grumbling belly...what other choice do I have?"
She grimaced and walked closer to the suspicious carrot before bending down munching on it. She blinked when she heard a click and looked above her with the carrot still sticking out of her mouth. She watched as the net fell on her causing her to let out a long deep sigh. At least she got her snack right? She chewed it down before flicking her tail under the net a little annoyed she got stuck in a trap, but she knew the worst thing to do was panic. It would only make the matter worse.
"Umm...is someone around that could get this stupid thing off me?"
She muttered out as she tried to move in it, but it was far too heavy for her.

The flop sound of the net as it hit the ground alerted Fergus.
He shook his head, he thought he had heard someones voice. He raced to see what had triggered his trap, he was alarmed to find a soquil in his net.
"I am so sorry! You were certainly not my intended target" he apologized.
Fergus immediately went to pull the rope hanging over the limb and lift the net from her. Despite not actually catching a boar, he was pleasantly surprised to she his trap successfully work.
