Evelyn Caffrey hated everything about winter, except one thing, and that was scarves. Not the fashionably airy scarves people wore all year round but the knitted, soft but substantial kind that you could wrap around your neck and just sink your chin in when you wanted to relax.
Scarves were awesome, and that was the whole of everything that occupied her mind today as she sat on her usual bench on the DCU campus where she waited between her two earliest Tuesday classes. There wasn't that much to do. Not enough time to go home and get back, but enough time there was an annoying lull in the day she tried to fill by making sure she had all of the proper materials in her messenger bag.
But god it was boring.
She started teasing herself with the idea of maaaybe going to get lunch alone. But sitting in a restaurant alone was almost worse than sitting on a bench alone sifting through papers.
