((This is just a fun little ORP at the arcade for anyone who wants to join! As long as you get up to 450 words you can consider this as an rp towards your count for the food drive rp!!

Meet with friends, play games, partake in half priced food/drinks, just be a good citizen and dump off some cans. Whatever you like!))

It had not taken Corey Boone very long to think of a way to make some money and good press for his store after learning about the city wide food drive. Sure as a business he'd have a box right inside the door for the month, but he needed something bigger and better to kick of the event. And he needed to be the FIRST business if he was really going to get the attention and glory for it.

Which such quick notice he didn't have more than a couple days to advertise the event, but as Saturday morning rolled around he unfurled the ridiculously large and eyecatching banners hanging from his windows.

Today ONLY! 1/2 priced laser tag and refreshments with donation of 5 cans of food. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

The little bracelets were ready to mark the arms of donators, the laser tag arena already ready for any sudden swarm of activity. The drink machines had just been restocked and he already had another employee just to keep track of the food and make sure they didn't run low on anything. It seemed a good deal, very generous, and it was really. Plenty of people would be getting food thanks to his efforts and his patrons would be getting a deal and good time too.

But it wasn't like Corey was losing out at all himself to do it. Even at half priced events like this always drew in more customers, made them more willing to spend. And the regular arcade games with their regular prices were sure to be very busy as people awaited their turn in the arena.

It was about to be a long and exciting day and Corey doned both a goofy Santa hat and wide grin. With a flick of the switch the lights of Electric Dreamz came to life, welcoming anyone and everyone to building. Laser tag, two stories of arcade games (new and old!), a whole lot of techno, and an excitable shop owner awaited anyone who entered!

"Boone!" The source of the enthusiastic greeting was a lanky, freckled blonde, who shoved open the door only a few minutes after they'd been unlocked. A heavy bag as dropped on one of the tables with a loud thud, clearly containing the prescribed number of cans, and she raised her brows at him.

"Saw the tweet on the Electric Dreamz page. You know I can't resist bargain lasertag." The other employee, someone she didn't know, offered her an wristband, which she accepted with a grin.

Kess Reever needed to blow off some steam, and who didn't love charity? It wasn't as if she was completely heartless. Reaching out, she slapped his hand and pounded his fist in a casual, bro-like 'handshake', before taking a good look at the set-up.

"Place'll be backed before noon."

Good thing she'd gotten here early, before the teeny-bopper crowd.

Noah should've seen it coming. He knew half priced events were something of a scam, at least to him, and he always ended up spending more money, somehow.

But it was just laser tag! And after lots of reasoning with himself that he would go just for the laser tag, he loaded up on canned pie filling and a few other things from the back of the diner pantry. They didn't really use the canned stuff anyway and it was mostly there for emergency shortages. How much time and effort it took to get to the store and the very close proximity of his burger joint and Electric Dreams was enough of an emergency anyway.

And pie filling totally counted as canned food. But just in case, he double bagged it before showing up and triumphantly delivering it down the street to Corey.

And it was a nice set up. "I should've been the one to think of this," He joked, but there was just a tinge of jealousy in there too.

"Nice hat."

She wasn't the only one to call him by his last name, but Corey nonetheless recognized the source of the greeting without even looking up, quite used to the friendly neighborhood mail lady. Only today was a weekend and as he looked up at Kess, not in uniform, it was easy enough to see that she wasn't here for business like usual. All the better, and toting a bag of cans too.

The 'handshake' was returned with the ease of familiarity. "Heyyyy Kess!" And his grin only stretched further as she mentioned Twitter, happy that even with the short notice the posts on Twitter and Facebook had proven at least a little successful.

"That's totally what I'm hoping." He winked sincerely. It was no secret to anyone that knew him that the arcade owner liked people and crowds and excitement and money.

"Here to blow some kids out of the water?"

"Noah!" He shouted in pleased amusement, a hand lifting in a lazy wave, as the familiar face made his way through the front doors, also toting a bag of can to dump into his big ol' box.

At the joke Corey could only smirk with pride, teasing the elder male playfully. "One day I'll clue you in to all the savvy business techniques young grasshopper."

It didn't take long for the arcade to begin to fill, along with the large trash can of canned food. Parents and young children arrived to help kill what was probably becoming an exhausting winter break. But very few lingered long as the building began to fill with more and more people. Rowdy, excited teens shared arcade games. The list for laser tag games was already beginning to back up for the next round. Colorful poker chips rested in pockets awaiting games and matching 'bracelets' were looped around most of the people milling around.

It wasn't even lunch time and Corey was up to his eyes in work, to which he attacked with an enthusiastic smile and as much energy as he could muster. He wasn't sure if he should hope that it would get lighter either or cross his fingers that it only get worse. The good old double edged sword.

Bending behind the counter he dug out another box of cups, before snapping them into the side of the soda fountain.
