Pregnant.
She couldnt even fathom it, as she padded away from the healer and midwife, she was...pregnant. Her ears were flat against her skull and she snarled at anyone who inched close to her.
He had gotten her pregnant! They...were going to be parents. Finally close enough to her own den, she sat down and simply stared at the earth under her paws.
Houjin and she were going to be starting a family...ready or not.

Huojin was unaware of the surprise that was to come when he went to go find Alma. he had noticed things had been different as of late but he had figured that was all because he and Alma had decided to become more than just friends. a hint of a grin was on his face as he went to Alma's den and found her. but he soon had a frown as he noticed she was simply staring at her paws for whatever reason. slowly he approached and cleared he throat before speaking. " is anything wrong? you can't be staring at your paws for no reason at all."

Her head snapped up, her ears pinned flat against her skull as she stared at him, he...he and she were going to be.."I dont want to see you right now." She said with a huff as she curled her tail around her paws tightly.
She looked back down at her paws, a shiver of fear ran down her spine for a brief second. Before she shook her head, "No. We need to talk actually." She took a deep breath, they werent offically mates or anything and now..this.
"We really need to talk."

Huojin's ears went flat and he was quick to stop in his tracks. " ok then......." he slowly went to her side but made sure to keep his guard up. he wasnt too sure what to expect from Alma at the current moment. "what is it you want to talk about." it was true they were not officially a mated pair but they had been slowly moving in that direction with how much more time they had been spending together. jaw clinched, he mind now was racing like mad with wonder in what she might want to talk about. it was more than clear she was angry with him with how she snapped at him the second she saw him.

"I. Am. Pregnant." Each word was snapped out and short, she wasnt sure if she, or he was ready for this yet. And she certain didnt want to pin him down with cubs if he had the idea that things werent working between them.
Not that she would let him go of course, she thought with a flick of her tail. Deep down, she loved him and that wasnt going to change.
"Good job..."

(@0@ sorry i been slow. work was killing me this weekend)
Huojin had no clue what to say or how to react to what she just said. ready or not he was going to be a father and yet he couldn't help but feel pride that he was going to be having strong cubs. "you know it does take two and your now never getting rid of me ever." he then sat down in front of her, and wondered what was in store for them now that things would change with cubs in the picture. he sure as hell was not ready to be a parent yet and he didn't know yet if Alma wanted to be official mates yet. " i guess its about as good of time as any to ask if you wanted to be officially together or not. it's been something i been wanting to ask the past few days." sitting there all tough, he now had to wait for Alma to give him an answer which he hoped she would answer that she wanted to be together.

"Yes, I know it takes two to create life. Its quiet impossible for to it happen any other way." She said with a shake of her head, she was scared for once in her life. She hadnt failed at anything before, and what if she did at what would be considered the most important challenge of her life? She glanced at him, what if she failed him?
Though his words made her muzzle twitch with a smile, she tried her best to hide it, but she couldnt. "You think I'd let you go? Not likely.." She said with a huff, "And I'd skin any female who so much as sniffed at what is mine."

Huoin couldn't help but smirk with amusement and was rather pleased with her answer. he would of been rather depressed if she did not want to be with him since they now had cubs to raise. " well that makes me happy." he gave her a lick on the cheek. " and you know i will do whatever i can to help." he really would do anything for her and now that he was to be a proud father, he would do anything for his cubs to come as well. " you have made me very happy." even though he was excited for his cubs to come, he was also scared too since he wondered how good of a parent he would be.

She waited a second before she nuzzled him and sighed, "Ready or not hmm?" She looked up at him, the tug of war between happy and scared was really playing havoc on her nerves, and rolling feeling in her belly didnt help it, they were already so feisty!
"Strong daughters to carry on the line." She said with a teasing smirk.

" i would like to at lest have one son to carry on the line." Huojin nipped at her ear lightly. at the current moment, the genders of the cubs to come were not on his mind. what was on his mind was he now had to be strong and do his best as a father and mate. " so who do you think we should tell first about this?" he knew he would have to tell his parents and siblings sooner rather than later even though he only just found out the news himself. " i know my parents will like to hear about this as soon as possible."

Alma didnt share the same relationship with her family as he did, and it bothered her but she wore a tight little mask to keep that fact to herself. "Of course, we should tell your parents..or you can tell them." She said with a smile, she was growing used to the idea more, and welcoming it even. "And maybe just one son.." She teased.

Huojin didn't know much of her family but he could tell by the tight mask she wore on her face that she didn't share the same relationship he had with his. " well i would think they would like to meet my mate and mother of my cubs." he shook his head with a chuckle as she teased him about having maybe just one son. " but for now that can wait i suppose. all of this news at once has made today way more crazy than i thought it would be."

"Your telling me..This was not the discussion I wanted to have today." She nipped at his mane roughly, but purred while doing so. She had to admit, she loved this hunk of lion flesh..He was the best after all, no one would dare try to tell her otherwise.
"So..I get to meet your parents?" The idea scared her a little, but she lifted her chin proudly.

" yes if you want to. but we can do that later. how about we continue discussing this at the den and out of the sun. i'm sure we got alot more to talk about before we go tell my parents anything." Huojin knew he would have to tell his parents and he wanted to but he was not about to push Alma about anything. after all she was just as much of a spitfire as he was and he was not going to lose her because he pushed anything. specially when she was going to be having his cubs, though he was not going to not be over protective of her and their cubs.
