Near the edge of the park there was a little alcove between trees where Laurent discovered a mother cat and her young kittens. At first the mother hissed and clawed at Laurent, but he risked a bloody hand to stroke her fur softly and calm her down. He pulled out some cat treats he kept in his pocket for his cat, Leah, he had smuggled into the school and fed her some. "Hey sweetie... it's alright I won't hurt you, just let me look at your kittens." he cooed softly, as the mother sniffed the treats distrustfully. He picked a soft orange one up and stroked it's belly lovingly. They're eyes had just opened and they blinked up at him, the first human they had seen. He laughed and rubbed his face against their soft coat, hoping no one suddenly showed up to see this sensitive side to him.

 Kaiko entered the park, seeing how it was her favorite place. She noticed Laurent messing with kittens. Kaiko smiled softly, watching such a soft side on the man.
"You must love cats," She said, hoping not to startle him. She smiled softly. A kitten was something to smile about.

Laurent jumped up a bit when Kaiko came up, but checked to make sure the kittens were okay. "I guess... they're a bit like me, they like to do their own thing.." He debated a bit with himself, but finally took a soft bluish-grey one and placed it in Kaiko's hands. He didn't like sharing his favorite things with anyone, but if he figured Kaiko was a gentle enough person to not startle the mother. It turned out he was right, the mother lazily opened one eye, and seeing her kitten safe went back to napping.

((Oh, seriously forgot to post here, in what? About a month ago?))
Kaiko didn't mean to make him startled, but it had already happened.
"Um, sorry about that," She then heard his next comment.
"Heh, guess so," She said, as he placed the kitten in her hands. It was so soft and very fluffy. She was however completely taken off from his persona with animals.
"They always did say, you can learn a lot about a person by the way they treat their animals," she thoughts, smiling as the little kitten's beautiful eyes. The mother seemed calmed, even when others were touching its young.
"You're not as bad as I had you impressioned."
((O_o Had no idea how to work with it. Just felt like posting... Gives more to do.))

Laurent laughed softly and took the kitten back, letting the mother put them back to sleep. "Best not to handle them too much. And I just happen to have a soft spot for cats... in fact... well nevermind." He looked away, wondering how she would react when she found out about his pet cat in his dorm room. He knew Meiko or Haku or any of the other teachers would object, there were no pets allowed afterall.

Kaiko listened to him as he went on, but suddenly stopped. She was curious what he was going to say next.
"Nevermind! I want to know! I bet its a secret, huh? Oh, secrets are also meant to be kept away, but it seems everyone gives them out like tickets to a ball game," Kaiko said, looking at the adorable kittens.
Laurent had a soft spot for them. She liked the little fluff balls, for she remembered having a cat. Though, that memory was short lived as "Sir Aisu" ran away. Soon after that, her old childhood friend Gakuko disappeared too. She cuddled the little kitten, kissing its forehead gently.
"You know, cats are just the most solitary animals, but even a cat can be social. Maybe you take a favor to them since you usually act independent?" Kaiko questioned, giving him a small smile.

Laurent's lips twisted as he tried to contain a smile. "Kaiko, you remind me more of a cat with all that curiosity." He joked. "I actually like cats so much that I'm keeping one as a pet right now, do you think Meiko would be mad if she knew?" He watched her pet the kitten and wondered if what she said was true. Deciding to be contrary he shook his head. "Nope, I'm just not a dog person because I hate how gross they can be. They eat all kinds of stuff then try to lick your face, that's just not for me." Laurent actually didn't mind dogs that much, but the licking part was true.
