The weather had taken a drastic turn. Snow was now blanketing the ground, and even now, as Cedar looks out the window of her modest town house, she was able to see a soft flurry. Her windows were showing the frost from the outside. She glanced down at the street below. Her friends should be coming any time now. She had inviting everyone for a Holiday party. Thinking it was time she welcomed them to her home, and she was getting nervous. What if none of them came? She paced in front of the window and then started to fret over the lay out of food on the table. She had been so excited about this, she talked Lea's ear off when he was at the Shop working... But he always listened, and interjected at the right times. She spent the last two days decorating her place too. She hoped it look good, she had a homey feel to it, much like her home always did in Clarus Arbor. This was the first holidays without her parents, and she was busy trying to keep them off her mind. Any minute now they should be coming.

Xerxes walked down the street, checking for the right house. After passing several houses, he finally arrived at the one that belonged to Cedar. He pocketed the slip of paper with her address written on it then checked his small bag to double check that nothing had been forgotten. It was his first time being invited to a party like this, so he was excited about it but at the same time nervous. He had put together little gifts for everyone. But what if they didn't like the gifts? He stared into the bag, and his nervousness rose up even more, making his insides twist uncomfortably.
He shook those thoughts out of his head as he closed the bag and let the handles of it slide down to rest at the bend of one arm. His mother had cheered up after the whole thing with his dad after Xerxes had presented her with the little gifts. So he believed that his friends would enjoy the gifts as well. He hoped. Reaching up his free hand, he knocked on the door. As he waited, he adjusted his striped scarf about his neck so that it covered his face to the nose. It was a chilly night, and he shivered despite the layers of clothes that he wore under his jacket.
Xerxes resisted the urge to dance about on the doorstep in an attempt to warm up as he waited for Cedar to answer the door. Even in his cat form, he doubted that the fur coat would keep him warm against the wintry wind. He smiled behind the scarf with his nervous excitement.

Hearing the first knock Cedar's heart skipped a beat. She took in a breath, looking under the tree she had decorated, her neatly wrapped presents sitting under the tree. Moving quickly, she patted down her dress and glides over to the door. She had a neat tray on the floor for shoes... Someone could probably think she was O.C.D, but she just wanted things to be perfect for them. This was a big deal!
She reached out her fingers grasping the handle and she pulled the door open. A gust of cold air pushed it's way into the hall and she smiled brightly. "Xerxes!" She stepped to the side. "Come in, so you don't freeze." She practically reached out there and dragged him in.
"You didn't have trouble finding your way here did you?" She asked him, once he was inside. She closed the door behind him, and offered to take his coat.

When the door opened, Xerxes smiled widely at Cedar. He could see only a small sliver inside the house behind Cedar, but the warm blast of air that hit him upon the door's opening made him eager to enter. When she dragged him into her house, Xerxes didn't protest. "It's really quite chilly out there," he said, fighting the need to shiver from the chill that had settled deep into his bones.
"No trouble at all," he assured her. He felt rather proud of himself for finding her house without the need to ask for directions.
Now that he was inside, he had the chance to take a good look around at her house. "Wow," he whispered as he took in all the Christmas decorations around the room. "Did you do all this by yourself?" It looked like it would have taken her ages to put everything up without some assistance. "It looks great!"
Xerxes took another look around then turned back to Cedar. "Am I the first one here?" He blinked at her, surprised that no one else had arrived before him. He thought he had been running late and would be the last to arrive at the party. He didn't think he was very well known for being first to arrive at a gathering.

Kalypso was outside Cedar's house contemplating on whether she should knock or not. She was invited to Cedar's holiday party and was feeling a little scared. She had never been to one of these before. She didn't get much sleep the other night thinking about the party. She took hours trying to think of what to wear.
She never been to a christmas party before. She looked down at the three presents in her hands. She hoped her friends liked the presents she got them. She was thinking about this giving the gifts and saying hi and living. She still was a little upset with herself for fainting at the ball. She didn't want everyone to think of her as weak or as an loser. She didn't know what her friends thought of her and hoped they didn't see her like that.
She took a big breath and knocked on the door.

Cedar took his coat, and she hung it up. She looked over at him as he got to take a look at the condo. "You think so?" She stepped toward him and felt pleased with herself. "Oh that I did! It's not to much is it? I've never decorated myself before. So I was worried I might do it wrong." she trailed off a bit. Her mother use too do most of the decorating, and some of those she used here.
"You are, I was getting a bit worried. I thought with the snow no one would come..." Her eyes shifted downward. "So I'm happy you made it. And I hope you're hungry too! I cooked all day." She laughed lightly, and as she did so there was another knock.
"Excuse me." Cedar waved lightly, sliding over to the door, and she pulled it open to see Kalypso. "Hey!" She grinned stepping back. "Just in time come in~" Once the other girl was inside, Cedar could feel the cold air. And she did shiver. The heat from the fire was fighting to keep the area warm, as Cedar closed the door.
"Did you have any trouble finding it?" She asked, offering to take the witchling's coat.

Lea was so horribly late and he knew that he had noone other than himself to blame for it as he quickened his pace down the street towards the town house that was only a few blocks down from the store that he currently worked part time at. He really should have known better than to delude himself into thinking that he would be able to wake up in time from his nap to attend the party. There were a couple of occasions when he had accidentally missed classes just because he had overslept so there shouldn't be any exception in this case either.
Clutching the brown paper bag that contained the presents that he had gotten for his friends, the brown-haired mononoke briefly contemplated shifting into his animal form but dismissed the idea as quickly as it had been conceived in his mind. A snow leopard sighted on the streets of Makai was certainly not going to go down well with the inhabitants and authorities. Mononoke or not. Besides, there was also the problem of how he was supposed to carry those presents when he was in his animal form.
Sighing softly to himself, Lea continued to press on, fervently hoping in his mind that everyone would still be there and that he wouldn't be greeted by a crestfallen look on Cedar's face when he reached subsequently. When he finally reached his destination, he took a brief moment to check that he had the right address, certainly not wanting to make another blunder and possibly incur any further delay on his part, making sure that he was indeed at Cedar's residence before he gave the door a resounding knock to announce his arrival.

Xerxes let Cedar take his coat. Inside the warm house, he wouldn't be needing it. He kept his bag, clutching it to his chest as he wandered about to get a closer look at all the decorations. Spinning on the balls of his feet, he turned back to face Cedar. A wide smile plastered itself upon his face as he shook his head. "It's not too much at all! It's like our own little private wonderland indoors." He knew he was beginning to ramble and snapped his mouth shut. He was simply excited about being there for the holiday party.
"The snow's not too bad yet," he said with a glance out the window. It didn't seem like it was falling too much to make the trip to Cedar's house treacherous or anything. "Oh, I'm starved!" he said with a dramatic look like he thought he was wasting away from lack of food. He had only had a quick snack before setting out to come to the party, so his stomach growled unhappily at him for not feeding it.
He peeked around Cedar as she opened the door for the next guest. "Hello, Kalypso," he greeted with a friendly smile. It wasn't long after that another knock sounded at the door. He was glad that the rest of the guests were arriving rather quickly.

Cedar was happy to hear that Xerxes was hungry. Boy at that age normally were, she decided. One of the few times that over cooking came in handy. And as the other started into her condo, Cedar heard another knock and she peek through the cracked door and gave Lea a look.
"You know... You're late! All that hard work I put into cooking..." She sighed at him, teasing him of course. And swung open the door for him, reaching out and yanking him in before her turned into a furcicle.
"So it looks like everyone made it!" She took Lea's coat and hung it, ushering everyone into the living room where the fire was burning and the smells of many different foods were.
