She could feel the anxiousness behind every word Blythe uttered. She could sense the pent-up energy building as if it were her very own; the weapons which clung to her arms as jewelry vibrating with a need to be handled.. in their rawest form. A lot of it had to do with the zombie within the sickles, who was desperate for the attention she never received in her unlife. But after being cooped up for all those years waiting for Minnie to arrive.. she wasn't exactly ready to push the issue.
Minerva was more aware than Blythe would like, however, and finding herself on the training grounds one afternoon made this more than evident.
An underlying excitement flared within the voice, a flicker of hope burning at the back of Minerva's mind.
"Yup." Was all the trainee said, looking left and right before summoning the sickles into her palms. There were very few individuals to be found on the grounds, but a man only just familiar enough to approach caught her eye immediately. He was probably one of the older trainee's at the facility, although Minerva had yet to recall the fight in which Jerry had nearly lost all control.
Blythe thrummed. Now there was no hiding her thrill. The green smoke which swirled from each of the skull's eyes danced with more life than ever before.
"Yuuup." Taking several strides toward the man, the death trainee offered a smile and a wave. "Hey, sorry to bother.. but I was wondering if you had a minute to spare?"

Jerry was still winded from his last spar, having taken a bit of time for repose. At the sudden inquiry, he jumped, but relaxed when he saw it was just... one of the pretty new trainees. "Oh, er! Hello!" He scratched at the bandage on his chin a moment before catching himself, hands flying up to straighten his hair as best he could, "A spar? Sure! Ahahaha I could really use all I can. I don't know how much more beatings I can take. I... oh, shoot, I'm pretty sure we've been introduced, but I can't for the life of me remember your name. I'm Jerry, by the way!" At least he seemed in better humor than he had been that afternoon in the hallway when the Strays had mingled with the Hatchlings.

The trainee hadn't meant 'spar' initially, cheeks turning a light shade of pink in response. It would have come up in conversation at some point, of course, but the woman wanted to make sure she wasn't inconveniencing him first.
Which, looking him up and down quickly, it seemed that a spar might not be on his agenda for the rest of the day.
Clearing her throat, Minerva straightened up as well. "I'm sorry I didn't realize you were.." It would DEFINITELY be rude to comment on his current state right? Even if he had already mentioned it. "Um, if you were heading out I understand! Really, I'm sure I can find someone else!" She didn't look hopeful, but a smile kept to her lips as if to confirm the thought nonetheless. "Or I can just train by myself or something."
"But I don't think we were ever formally introduced. I've seen you around plenty of times though.. mostly from a distance." Thankful for a change in topic, although a prodding in her mind was not, Minnie shuffled with her weapons to extend a hand out. "Minerva. Yeah, I definitely remember you, Jerry." A shoulder hiked, hazel eyes keeping to his. "Have you started that choir group yet?"
Blythe whined, itching to fight.

"Oh, I'm fine! Just a bit er... battered. Nothing that'll kill me though, ahahaha..." At the mention of his project, Jerry sagged, looking a touch sensitive, "Er... not... not as such. You'd think more people would be game for a fun activity that didn't involve beating the snot out of each other or nearly getting killed in some way." He paused a moment before glancing her up and down, his face lighting up, "Are you interested??"

Right.
"If you say so." The trainee didn't exactly believe him, strictly because the bandages and scratches and bruises that littered what could be seen only hinting that there may be so much more beneath the layers he wore. She wouldn't want to potentially beat up on an already wounded opponent, mostly because Minerva was looking for a challenge...but he didn't decline the offer. And Jerry may be in better shape then he looked; which was a possibility she couldn't discard! And, well, she had to appease the raging Blythe.
But obviously the spar would have to wait. "Ooohhhh.." The woman's face contorted some, brows knitting together while her hand dropped back to her side. "I meaaan, I do like to sing.. and I haven't exactly been told that I suck or anything." She paused, averting her attention to the open space surrounding them. Man this was starting to get awkward. She just wanted to brawl.. "Will there be try-outs.. ? I would be kind of fun, I guess?"

Try outs.... hmm... honestly, the thought hadn't occurred to him. He was happy to find anyone interested at all, let alone perform any quality checks along the way... and honestly, even if they weren't very good, training them would certainly keep him occupied when between endless attempts on his life. "Alright, then," He beamed, but there was a mischievous glint in his eye as suddenly his bazooka materialized on his shoulder in an emerald burst of glow, "Let's call THIS the audition!"

"Wha-" Minnie hesitated for a moment, taking a step back just as soon as his weapon poofed into existence. Okay...okay. She had approached him about this. She could do this. She was ready.
She had trained long enough...it was time to take home her first victory!
Hands fastened tighter around Blythe's golden form, lips curling at their ends with the welling excitement. "Alright!"

"Heh..."
Minnie propelled herself forward with a smooth swiftness, crossing the blades of each sickle as her arms reached out and readied to connect with what flesh it could. Words spilled from her lips simultaneously, complying with Jerry's request; quickening the pace if only to keep time with her movements.
"Mystery the moon A hole in the sky A supernatural nightlight So full but often right.. "
It was a fantastic song, despite it not being the most appropriate for the situation.
Inappropriate and somewhat distracting, slipping up and missing her target by THAT MUCH.
Blythe growled but was far too stimulated to be truly irritated.

"I can't quite hear you! Louder, please?" Jerry easily managed to dodge the attack- at least his tactic seemed to give him some sort of advantage- if she was busy multi-tasking, maybe he could get a hit in. He fired a quick warning shot just to get things started.

Minerva slid on her heels, hunched forward with a hiss and then a staggered breath. If that was a warning shot, she wasn't looking forward to the real deal.
You don't think I can keep it up?
I can do it.
She regained her composure and readied for another attack, singing louder than before.
"A pair of eyes, a closin' one, A chosen child of golden sun A marble dog that chases cars To farthest reaches of the beach and far beyond into the swimming sea of stars.. "
The first sickle cut close to the arm of Jerry's jacket, making the slightest 'wooshing' sound before the second came sweeping in; leaving its mark behind. Bouncing away from the man, Minnie shook out her frame.
A mixture of delight and worry held her lips in a straight line, waiting on her toes for Jerry's next move. Sorry!

"A cosmic fish they love to kiss" Minerva cooed, soaking in the confidence Blythe oozed. "They're giving birth to constellation" An opening came and the woman took it gladly, striking with the rounded ends of her sickles as Jerry fumbled with his own weapon.
It would hurt a hell of a lot less than the points. "No riffs and oh, no reservation!"

"Aaah!" He yelped, once again attempting to put some distance between them. Sheesh, what was with everyone and their bladed weapons? He didn't need more cuts, he had to stay on his toes. Unfortunately, that meant taking a bit less time to aim, but she was still in Roar's trajectory all the same, "Doing well!" He managed, over the sound of cannon fire. HP: 29 Damage: 2 Charge: 2/3

"Do you really thin--?!?" Instantly her arms were at her face, shielding it from the blast.
There was no taming the wisps of green that swirled off of each sickle, nor could the trainee silence Blythe's hoots and hollers with a mental 'hush! I'm TRYING to do as you said!' The weapon didn't even seem fazed by the attacks made on the death trainee, just eager. No, desperate to be swung once more.
"Uh--If they should fall you get a wish or dedication, May I suggest you get the best..." She was still singing. Oh yes she was.
