So, thanks to a classmate of mine, we're planning a Purple Shirt Day/ Day of Silence. We've gotten the OK from the administration, I just wanted to know if anyone else had ideas to make the day go off without a hitch.
We're planning on selling Pins, Wristbands, and Home dyed Purple shirts, all proceeds are going to our GSA, and having an announcement made during the morning news for our school. I also thought about having games during lunch period (we've had it done before by other school organizations). We're no sure of when we want to do this yet, we looked it up and the Day of Silence is April 20th, which is a bit far away, so We were thinking of using another Gay-Themed day.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Necklaces are always a nice touch. If you want to go that route, that is.
The idea of doing this is wonderful and I give props to your school's administration for helping you both.
I wish you guys the best of luck, as some of the student body might not be pleased over it.

Sifen Yamishi Necklaces are always a nice touch. If you want to go that route, that is. The idea of doing this is wonderful and I give props to your school's administration for helping you both. I wish you guys the best of luck, as some of the student body might not be pleased over it. We've had our... Discrepancies with some of our administrators before, but it seems they realize we mean business.

I think your mistaking it for a national event, its more of a local one for us. The actual Day of Silence is on April 20th (4/20 Hurr Hurr), but for ours, we dont have a set day yet.

O we did that at my school it was for all the students who were gay and committed suicide
