'What?'
Ariane mentally face palmed, but managed to look completely neutral on the outside as she strolled down the facility's hallway, eyeing the various bright lights that had been hung up along the wall; the island was decorated with so many Christmas decorations that she wasn't sure what to make of it - apparently they were anti-Halloween but not anti-holiday? It wasn't bad, but really? Caelius and Dr. H didn't seem like the type of people to celebrate Christmas.
She paused at an archway, staring at the lights that were directly above her with a thoughtful hum. Then, looking around to make sure that nobody was around, she jumped, batting one of the lights, causing it to swing and flicker.
This was going to be one long December...

After lunch, Reine was just making her way back to her room when she caught sight of someone along the hallway playing with the christmas decorations. Well- there were all types of hunters, she supposed, and some of them were bound to be a little.. childish.
"Saw that," she snerked, as she walked past.

She was about to ignore her when she realized that this woman looked really familiar; she was sure that she had seen her somewhere-
"You!" She laughed, turning just enough to lean against the back of the wall, under the decorations. She placed a hand on her hip and grinned, "I remember you... You sat on Jeremy's lap that day, in the classroom! How was it? Comfy?"

"I.." she blushed, turning back to stare at the other girl. "I'll have you know he did that of his own accord, take it up with him!"
Who was she, anyway, girlfriend? This wasn't happening again, was it? Reine didn't want to be the third wheel again; she'd just gotten the whole Robert-Petra thing settled... other than, well, talking to her sister again.
"Th..there's nothing between us, I don't know a thing except his name!"
It had been kind of comfy, though. But that wasn't the point!

"I figured as much, seeing how it's Jeremy," She laughed, waving a hand in the air, her grin widening when she realized how fast this trainee denied any sort of relationship with Jeremy, "Don't worry, I don't really care about who he's sleeping with or dating. Not really anyway. Unless it was a guy."
She pushed herself off the wall, walking towards the woman with one hand outstretched, "The name's Ariane, by the way. May I have the pleasure of knowing the name of the pretty lady who warmed my dear friend's lap?"
'I'm so glad nobody else has to talk to you.'

"Huh?"
The boy had seemed.. nice enough, if a bit forward.. maybe. "Does he have a reputation for this kinda thing?" It wasn't as if she minded in particular; it had pretty much been just a chance meeting, and he'd kept her away from Robert.. more or less.
Maybe less.
"We're not sleeping or dating," Reine muttered sulkily. "I'm not that kind of girl." Her face coloured further at the mention of 'warming his lap'; whatever Ariane was insinuating, it was making her decidedly uncomfortable. Eyeing the girl with a frown, it took her a few moments to decide to yield her name.
"Reine. You wouldn't happen to be one of his exes or something, would you? Like I said, there's nothing between us.."

"Nah, we grew up together. That's our only history," She answered, unable to resist a chuckle at how red Reine's face was, "Hm... Jeremy just likes his girls, I suppose. He's harmless, really." Just really touchy at times; he probably enjoyed having a girl on his lap although she had a feeling that was not why he did what he did.
"Alright, alright, I get it," She raised an eyebrow, although she was still grinning away, "So, what are you up to this fine day?" Reine wasn't getting rid of Ariane anytime soon.

Who would've thought- someone else with a childhood friend.
"I get you- I'd be mad, though, if Robert had anyone else but Petra on his lap. Funny though, childhood friends.. Do a lot of people around here.. know each other from before?"
Jude had mentioned someone else before, as well.
"And.. uh, I'll keep that in mind."
God knew how many other girls he'd randomly grabbed before and shoved on his lap.. Reine suddenly felt like she needed a shower.
"Not much, I was just heading to my room. You?"

"See, but Jeremy is unattached, and getting unhappy or upset at him would only serve to make him happy," She laughed, shaking her head, "And Robert... Ah, the gorilla guy." Tall, built like a truck, stupid enough to touch the Merlin staff when told not to, "Petra must be the girl he carries around all the time." She had seen it enough to assume that it must happen on a semi-regular basis.
"I'm not sure about others, but Jeremy and I knew each other from young," And Dean, but talking about him would probably make her sad again, "I suppose since being able to see Halloween creatures is not common, people who can somehow end up sticking together? Honestly, Jeremy and I signed up for this separately - I didn't know he did it till I signed that waiver... So who knows? Some of the people here might know someone still sleeping in a pod."
At the question, she shrugged, "Not much either... Just walking about, admiring the decor." Or playing with them.

There was a pause, and Reine looked extremely disturbed.
"Getting unhappy or upset at him makes him.. happy?" She'd learned something like this in psychology class before. "Isn't that like... stalkers or flashers? Like.. any kind of response, positive or negative.. makes them happy?"
Reine shuddered. She'd honestly thought Jeremy was pretty decent, but talking to this Ariane girl was completely colouring her impression of him. Colouring it completely black.
"That makes a bit of sense, I guess. Petra and I are sisters.. so maybe it's genetic. I didn't know they'd signed up for this either, honestly."
If the other girl wanted to.. admire, there was nothing stopping her. She had to admit, though, Dr. H (at least, he'd been the one rumoured to have done all this) had done a pretty nice job. "Have you been here long enough, do they always do christmases like this?"

"Uh, no, I don't think Jeremy is like that," She frowned, not sure how to feel about the thought of him being a stalker or flasher, "More like... He likes to get a reaction out of me, although I think he's giving up since we've been at this for a good portion of our life. It's all good. He's not a creeper."
Not really, anyway.
"Sisters?" She echoed, sounding mildly surprised, "You two don't look alike, although it might just be the hair messing with my judgement... You bleached it before you got here?" And she thought that her duo-colored hair had raised a few eyebrows.
"So Robert was your childhood friend then? They're childhood sweethearts?" She couldn't resist asking, "Nope, never been around long enough to know... I was from the batch of trainees before yours. They call us the strays, I believe."

"Bet it's you he likes," Reine grinned, teasing. "That's why the whole reaction thing, huh?" She brushed off Ariane's comment, though- no point saying the two were twins, if the other girl didn't even believe they were sisters.
"I did, yeah. Don't know how long it'll stay this colour though. And n'aww, we don't look that alike to begin with." She didn't mention that black... with blue wasn't Petra's natural hair colour, either, though she didn't think Ariane should be saying much.. after all, her own hair was a really odd combination of red and green.
It matched with the christmas decor- maybe that was why she couldn't resist playing with the other decorations. Smirking, Reine looked up at the lights as well, Ariane really fit in.
"We all grew up together, and.. no, not really." How much could she lie? Reine wasn't completely comfortable talking to a stranger about her past. "I moved away as a kid with my mom, so I don't know all that much about how they hooked up."
Heh heh heh. Omitting the fact that Robert had been chasing her for.. how many years? It wasn't as if she was particularly proud of that, anyway. If nothing, Robert had been the only guy who'd actually gone after her.
...Sigh.
"I figured that much, but I had no idea when you guys.. woke up."

"Too bad the feeling isn't mutual," She replied with a grin of her own, shrugging, "He's better off with another girl, although I think he shouldn't be with anyone until he gets off his lazy a** and learn to be a responsible adult." Which wasn't likely to happen anytime soon, judging from the way he was acting during her last visit... He was lucky the faculty didn't think about taking him off the team. Permanently.
"Oh? Well, Caelius' own hair is an odd color combination," She chuckled, "I'm sure they have a stash of hair dye and bleach around somewhere." She played with the end of her ponytail; the dye really was fading... Soon, her hair would go back to its original color. Boring, original, natural color.
"A few months before you guys did," She informed her, "So we're not really veterans."

"Heh. Hahahahah. You mean he's worse than Robert?" Okay, Reine had to admit that was uncalled for. Her friend did have some redeeming qualities, at least- now what were they---
"I'm not too fussed about it- it's not like I've had this hair colour forever. Might be nice to let it grow out a little more... and I'm not sure it's a good idea to ask him for hair products.. you never know what he might give you."
Like.. a gun. The life trainee sighed, recalling Spencer- she hadn't quite gotten over him yet.
"I heard from Boss," she smiled, a sort-of dreamy look coming over her face. "Those few months have been pretty rough though, huh?"

"Oh? Is Robert lazy and irresponsible? If not, yup, he's probably better than Jeremy in those areas," It's not that she thought poorly of Jeremy. It's that she could think higher of Jeremy if he actually did things and be productive for once; at least he had stopped smoking... Then again, that might be due to the circumstances.
"That is true," She agreed with a nod and a grin, "He might just offer to cut your hair with Circe. Comes with free head trim, of course. He's just that generous."
Of course, Reine had to mention 'Boss', which immediately threw her off since that was what her teammates had nicknamed her. However, she did recall hearing some others call this male 'Boss' in the past, so she could only assume that was who Reine was referring to. She also noticed and recognized that dreamy look on her face, prompting a teasing grin from her, "This Boss must be pretty special to you... And it had been pretty rough, not that I expected life as a hunter to be a cake walk."
