Along the edge of District 8 runs a forest of tall healthy trees and other wild life. Among the trees live birds and other wild animals. A nice place if you want to go for a walk. But be careful. Some are crazy enough to hunt here illegally, don't want to be killed on accident.

─♡──MISA CHERRY EVERETTE──♡─ ─☁──διsтяιcт єιɢнт──☁─ As we soar walls, every siren is a symphony Life goes on It gets so heavy The wheel breaks the butterfly Every tear, a waterfall ════════════════════════════════════════════ Misa was still running when she hit the trees and didn't stop. She just kept going. Her skinny arms pumping at her sides. Some how still gripping the drawing. She was literally holding it like her life depended on it. And she kept running. Her steps as light and silent as feathers. Managing to see and watch where she stepped. Though it was difficult once she was in the shadows and she let her tears run.
Misa stopped running in a familiar part of the woods and looked around her. There. She walked over to a tree wider than she was tall with roots as thick as she was. Over the years, bushes had startedd to grow around the roots and dirt had collected. Making a perfect shelter for foxes or rabbits. Or hiding spots for girls as small as she was.
Misa stepped around the bushes to the entrance to the little hideaway. The small hole to the entrance faced the tree trunk so you wouldn't see it on first glance. Getting on her knees, Misa slid the tube in first then her bag and crawled in after it.
Once she was in, Misa sat back against the base of the root keeping the shelter standing. She pulled her knees to her, wrapping her arms around them and burring her face in her knees. She cried silently. Only letting out soft sobs every now and then. The den was surprisingly warm for something that was always shaded. Probably because it was at the base of the tree. She was glad it hadn't rained lately. Or she would be sitting on damp ground. Never mud, but it would be damp. ════════════════════════════════════════════ And every tear's a waterfall In the night, the stormy night She closed her eyes In the night, the stormy night Away she'd fly

He was in a search to set things right. He came to a slowing stop, breathing heavily. "Misa!" he called out of breath. He started walking in the straight direction. He wasn't that far behind her. Of course, she was a faster runner than he.
He stopped, not wanting to go to go any further into this...death trap. He looked around frantically for his little sister. "Misa please! I'm sorry... talk to me..."<---*ooc*--->My outfit Cool, I see we have a home now too. Deep...

She looked out of the branches of the bush to see Gil walk past her and stop a few yards ahead. She had started getting a little hungry and picked some of the berries from the branches around her.
She knew that these weren't poisonous. She'd payed enough attention to the Hunger Games through out the years to know what she could eat and what would kill or blind her. Popping two or three little red berries into her mouth, Misa wriggled her way back out.
After standing and brushing herself off, Misa stepped out behind her brother. "If you stand out in the open you'll be eaten in no time flat." She said, her voice flat with the word of warning and advise.
Misa tilted her head slightly, still watching him. She put a couple more berries into her mouth. She didn't know if she was supposed to say something or if he wanted to say something first. So she gave him the benefit of the doubt and would give hi the chance to speak. ════════════════════════════════════════════ And every tear's a waterfall In the night, the stormy night She closed her eyes In the night, the stormy night Away she'd fly

█══════════════════════════════█ Gilton Gilton spun around at the sound of his little sister's voice. He ran to her, closing the small distance between them. When he reached her he wrapped his arms around her. He squeezed her tightly, letting the tears that threatened his eyes fall. "I'm so sorry Cherry!" he sobbed. he stayed like this for a while, letting the sobs rattle his shoulders. He wanted to apologize more, to tell her that he was sorry, but his sobs forbade him from doing so.
After what seemed like the longest three minutes ever, he pulled back. "Cherry, there is a misunderstanding between us." He said, his voice cracking at the end of the sentence. "We need to change that... I need to change that. Talk to me, tell me what goes through your head. I need to know these things. Just as you need to know what goes on in my head..."
He didn't want to lecture to her. Honestly, he just wanted to hear her voice. The sweet voice of his little sister. Laced with pure innocence and curiosity. Deep...

But it was a happy surprise. As he hugged her, she couldn't help hug him back. She stayed quiet as she let him get out his sobs. Just standing there, hugging him. "It's okay Gil." She said gently as he cried.
When he was finally able to talk but still held him, she didn't pull back. She just smiled softly. "I'll tell you. But right now we should probably get somewhere safer." She pointed out. Reluctantly, she pulled out of her brother's hug and looked at him softly. She took his hand gently and pulled him along.
"C'mon, over here." She was a bit hesitant to show Gil her little hiding spot. But she had several over the forest. If she told someone about this one, there was very little chance she'd be there when they looked. She never stayed in the same one twice in a row.
After rounding the bush, Misa let go of her brother's hand and got down, making her way back into the little den. After she was in, she poked her head out. "It's perfectly safe." She assured him before disappearing back inside. It really was bigger on the inside. After moving the branches out of the way or breaking them off, there was enough room to fit, well, Misa and her brother. Without even being cramped. ════════════════════════════════════════════ And every tear's a waterfall In the night, the stormy night She closed her eyes In the night, the stormy night Away she'd fly

█══════════════════════════════█ Gilton When he pulled out of the hug, he rubbed the tears from his eyes, before Misa grabbed him, and pulled him around the bush. When she let go and began to duck in between that cramped little space, he became worried. Still she reassured him, letting him know that it was safe.
Reluctantly, he got down on his knees and followed her in. He pushed his backpack inside before going in the hallow hiding spot. Gil sat cross legged on the soft dirt, and looked around. It seemed sound enough, even still, he didn't like it. He always saw the woods as a dangerous place. You never knew what's out there. He truly wanted to just pull Misa and take her home to their cozy living room. But he stayed, it was about time he saw the world through his little sister's eyes.
"You... come here lot?" He hoped not, but he knew she did. Those days when she'd come home with muddy stains on her knees. It was inhumane really, and unsafe, but he didn't say anything. He wanted to come to an understanding, even if it meant getting his new shorts dirty.

≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎ Kamryn Leila Rosethorn District Eight ≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎ It was peaceful in the forest, listening to the birds melodically singing a song that I will never know the words to. I loved it in here, and I couldn't understand why it was against Capitol law to be in here without official reason. I think feeding myself is the most official you can get, because I would starve otherwise. I could see my own ribcage due to the lack of food that was readily available for me. Everything was so expensive and one only made so much money working in the factories. I was only doing what was necessary to survive, and if that were illegal, so be it. I'd rather be shot than slowly starve to death, that was for sure.
I wandered on for a few feet, listening to the sounds of nature, when I finally spotted a promising looking berry bush. I quickly made my way over to it, picking the berries off of it and into the small satchel that I had brought with me. After I had collected a good amount of them, I wandered off in search of some pine trees in hopes that I would be able to find some big pine cones. The cones had seeds hidden in them that I had discovered one day while walking, and they've helped keep me alive for a pretty long time. Trouble was, there were only five to seven seeds in each one and they took quite an effort to break apart, but at the end of the day, it was all about survival.

─♡──MISA CHERRY EVERETTE──♡─ ─☁──διsтяιcт єιɢнт──☁─ As we soar walls, every siren is a symphony Life goes on It gets so heavy The wheel breaks the butterfly Every tear, a waterfall ════════════════════════════════════════════ Misa chuckled a bit. She knew what her brother wanted to hear. And what he didn't. Though she guessed that he knew the answer. Either way she still said "Here there. Where I am, 'here' all depends on where I start." She said. She knew it as sort of a indirect answer to his question, and a confusing, if not riddle, of an answer. But it was her. He wanted to see things through her eyes. He was going to hear her talk how she wanted.
Misa reached up into the branches of the bush and plucked a few berries from their perches. After gathering a good handful, she lowered her hand and held them in her palm. She picked a few good ripe ones and put them in her mouth. They were all ripe yes, but some where better than others. She held out her hand to Gil, offering. "Want one? They're a bit tart but...Not bad." They were tart, ripe or not. She had learned they were called Salmon Berries. She guessed it was because they looked like salmon eggs.
Gil didn't have to eat them. It was just an offer to him. She picked out another one and put it in her mouth. "I won't make you stay in here too long. I just want you to see. What I see." She told him. She looked out from the branches into the forest. "What do you see when you look at the forest, Gil?" She asked him quietly.
Misa had a feeling this wasn't what Gil had expected. Or wanted. But he'd asked what went through her head. How she saw the world. So this was it. She would tell him enough to explain what happened back at school. But right now she was starting with their surroundings. What was closest to them, and working out. She just hoped he was patient with her. ════════════════════════════════════════════ And every tear's a waterfall In the night, the stormy night She closed her eyes In the night, the stormy night Away she'd fly

█══════════════════════════════█ Gilton Gilton sighed at his little sister's answer. This was how she answered almost everything he asked her. At first he thought it was truly just to annoy him. But looking at his little sister now, how comfortable she was in this environment, why would she want to annoy him? It seemed very trite now, to think that she ever did in the first place. He nodded and accepted the answer.
He almost stopped her when she began to eat the berries she had just picked. He drew back when she offered some to him. He looked at the berries, and thought about it. Then back at his sister. There was only so far he could go, eventually, he had to draw the line. "No thank you." he said, holding up a hand. He wasn't quite sure if the berries were safe, then again, he wasn't sure how log his sister has been coming out here. Maybe it was the berries that made her think this way. Maybe they cause a weird chemical imbalance with in her.
He was flattered that his sister was actually trying to level with him. He felt a warm feeling in his chest. He couldn't quite explain what that feeling was, but it was a good one. He smiled, then was taken aback by her next question.
Gilton thought about this for a minute. He wasn't sure if it was his sister's voice, or the question itself, but goosebumps had risen on his arms. He thought about the question, about the way she said it, and the possible hidden message behind the question. If there was one. At first he wanted to say something to impress her, but quickly changed his mind. His sister was being truthful with him, it was only right that he returned the favor.
"When I look at the forest...." his voice was a terrified whisper. "I see death. It's dangerous out here Cherry. The forest is created to kill. When I look at the trees," he looked out around him. The looming branches threatened his view of the sky. "I see jail. An inescapable jail that threatens your life every day. The little bugs underneath the rocks and logs," he motioned to the ground they were sitting on. "Tiny little diseases, waiting to get inside of you to kill you from the inside out. The plant life," he looked at her, his eyes laced with fear, and pulled a berry from her hand. "Poison!" he spat. Throwing the berry down on the ground. "I see nothing but death here Cherry. Why do you think the Capitol made it illegal to come out here? Why do you think there is a forest setting in the Games every year? It's dangerous, and we shouldn't be out here."
Despite his words, Gilton didn't move an inch. He was too frightened by his own words...

─♡──MISA CHERRY EVERETTE──♡─ ─☁──διsтяιcт єιɢнт──☁─ As we soar walls, every siren is a symphony Life goes on It gets so heavy The wheel breaks the butterfly Every tear, a waterfall ════════════════════════════════════════════ Misa didn't yell or tell him he was wrong. Or anything like that. Instead she just smiled softly, sadly. Yelling at her brother or saying he was wrong wouldn't help at all. She could easily hear the fear in his voice and see it in his eyes. She set the rest of the berries, which weren't much, in her lap. Then she reached down and picked up the one he'd thrown.
Misa wasn't going to eat it, she had limits too. "I'm not going to say you're wrong Gil. Because you're not. You're right, the forest, the woods, the wild, they're dangerous. But, you see, the forest was never created. It has been here for centuries, long before us. That's why it's a death trap. For humans. We don't belong here." She said softly. Rolling the rejected berry delicately between her fingers.
"But the forest is so much more than that. It's a source of life. People starve. More people would starve if we didn't have the trees and bushes with their seeds and fruits." She started again. She looked up, but not at her brother. At the bush and tree around them. She put a hand on the root of the tree. "Everything in his forest is a living, if not breathing, being."
She then turned her head to look at her brother. "Try to see the big picture. Not the small details. Without the forest, District Seven would be in ruins like District Thirteen. And without District Seven to distribute lumber, we wouldn't be in our home." She explained. "The Games may have a forest ever year. But it's not the forest that is the danger. It's the damn Games. That forest is not real. Twisted and altered, unnatural, made to kill people who enter." She said, her voice growing hard. As if angry for the forest. Which she was, it was the Gamemaker's faults and the Capitol's fault for making people see the forest as they did.
People survived for centuries in the woods before the Districts separated and lost to the Capitol. Now all they cared about was keeping people under their control and in line. Even if they have to scare them into submission. It was sick and twisted, like the way people viewed nature. Instead of seeing the beauty in it all. There was beauty in everything. But what was the use of looking if you didn't want to see it. Or wanting to see it if you never looked.
With a sigh, Misa dug out a small hole in the ground in front of her and dropped the berry in. Then she covered it and looked up at Gil. "Looking at the big picture is all I ever do. All I've ever done. Every morning I wake up with the same goal. To make at least one person smile and be happy. Even if it costs me." She told him, looking him in the eye. "It makes me happy to make others smile or be happy. Today I made the art teacher's eyes light up more than I have since I met her. That alone made it worth getting up this morning." ════════════════════════════════════════════ And every tear's a waterfall In the night, the stormy night She closed her eyes In the night, the stormy night Away she'd fly

█══════════════════════════════█ Gilton Gilton stared at his little sister. She was a very intelligent little girl, far smarter than he had ever realized. He watched her as she spoke, a new type of determination in her voice. A type of determination he wished he had himself. He hung on to her every word. He was always a good listener, he could take apart any argument, and find it's weaknesses. He could find any fallacy within the words of opponents, but he was doing an entirely different listening now. Gilton, for the first time in his life, was listening to understand.
His sister knew they didn't belong in the wood, she knew it was a dangerous place. She sided with him, she took his side on a subject matter. Something he had never done for her. He watched as she played with the berry he had recently thrown down. His brown eyes followed the berry, then met with hers as she began to speak again.
He thought about the forest being alive. He considered being a living breathing thing. At first it was hard to find this beautiful, in fact, it scared him more. He followed her hand as she reached up to touch the roof of plant around them. He almost lifted his hand to hers, but stopped before he did. His sister was right about the forest being s source of life. His eyes went to the berries in her lap. He remembered watching the games, and watching people eating berries there. 'Maybe they aren't so bad.' he thought. After all, in the games people used them to survive.
Again, he met her eyes. There was so much passion in them. He scooted closer to her, hanging on to her words as if his life depended on him. He was actually listening to his sister. He wanted to cover her mouth when she cursed, but fought the urge. Though a chill still went up his spine. Even if it wasn't direct, her words were directed towards the Capitol and that was very dangerous. Never bad mouth the Capitol, they heard everything...
He took her hand in his, baffled by her words. "Cherry, I'm glad you love to make people smile. I never knew that. And it was selfish of me not to even try and notice. But..." his voice then went below a whisper. "Should we really be talking about these things? Here.." he motioned around him. "They hear us. They hear everything. We should go." He pulled her closer and kissed her cheek where he earlier slapped her. "Please. As hard as I try, I just can't seem to grasp what the world looks like through your eyes... Your thinking is dangerous Cherry. I love you... but I just can't do this."
He then grabbed his bag and made is way out of the small hiding spot. Once out he looked around, it had began to get dark. The trees were looming in an even creepier way than earlier. He turned back to the hiding spot, leaning down. "Come on Cherry, let's go." he spoke to the bush.

─♡──MISA CHERRY EVERETTE──♡─ ─☁──διsтяιcт єιɢнт──☁─ As we soar walls, every siren is a symphony Life goes on It gets so heavy The wheel breaks the butterfly Every tear, a waterfall ════════════════════════════════════════════ Misa just smiled softly again. It had actually gone better than expected. She hadn't expected her brother to listen so intently to her. It had been another nice surprise. His response though, not really surprising. It was hard to see the world through her eyes. They were her eyes. Not his. Not their mother's. Not their father's. Just her's and her's alone. But the effort was appreciated.
She bit back a sigh when she said her thinking was dangerous. She knew it was. But the thing was this was the first time she ever voiced her thoughts. Misa did have a journal she stashed in private where no one could ever find it. A place she hid her deepest and sometimes darkest thoughts.
Misa almost chuckled at his last statement before getting out. He sounded more like a boyfriend than he did a brother. Ah well, he was trying. All that mattered really. She just shrugged and pushed her tube out first again and put her bag over her shoulder. When she stood and brushed herself off, she grabbed the tube again. Then she looked at Gil.
"I know it's hard for you to see things as they are to me. But thank you for listening. That's all that really matters." She told him, giving him another quick hug. Then she let go and stepped around the bush. "I don't tell anyone my thoughts, I know they're dangerous. So don't worry too much." She told him, looking over her shoulder. Then she started walking again.
Misa knew the forest well. Even though it was illegal to come in their without a real reason, she did anyway. Often. And she learned her way in, out, around, and in the dark. Now she just hoped her brother trusted her to take them home. She didn't walk fast, but not slow. A brisk pace. For him mainly so they would be out of their. No matter how much she wanted to stay. "This isn't the fastest way home. But it's the fastest way that we get out of the woods sooner." She explained as she walked. Not breaking her stride. {I'll post at the house after you post again} ════════════════════════════════════════════ And every tear's a waterfall In the night, the stormy night She closed her eyes In the night, the stormy night Away she'd fly

I'M UNDECIDED. I DON'T KNOW WHO I AM. ● ● ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ● ● I immediately take cover from the sight of the Mayor's kids. The girl is sweet, no doubt. It's the boy I'm worried about. He's more like his mother, a very strict human being. He'll definitely tell her about me if he sees me. When the Everette kids are far out of view, I'm positive that they didn't see me. If I wanted to, I can tell their mom about her kids poking around the forest. Just to show everyone what a hypocrite she is. By doing this, I'll of course be questioned on why I was out in the forest. I'll keep my mouth shut for now.
The forest is a great place to salvage food. Not many people have it as delicately as I do. Or the Everette family. It's also a great place for some alone time.
I dig inside my backpack, ready to do what I came here to do when I hear a twig snap. At first, I think it's probably just rabbits and squirrels. I then quickly dismiss that thought when more twigs snap. I zip up my backpack as quietly as I can and take cover behind a tree. When I poke my head outside the trunk, I see a redheaded girl with a bag wandering around. What the hell? Since when did the forest become some kind of hotspot all of the sudden?
Revealing myself is something I don't want to do. I didn't come all the way over here just to be seen by someone else. This girl might question me. I begin to slowly walk away to the opposite direction. My stealth is my best asset. Her back is turned, so she cant really see me. I'm a good few feet away from her when my foot steps on a twig. Fantastic.
