Her hand was still hesitantly hovering over Mac's door. Her brief and awkward meeting with the pretty pink haired demon, who was named Lizzy had left her stronger and yet...weaker at the same time.
She wasn't sure all at that moment how she should feel. She still wanted to talk to Mac and to ask him somethings about....well everything. She didn't want to overwhelm him or seem like an overly clingy ghoul or something like that but, considering what they had been through together, it was the least they could do together.
So bucking up, she knocked on his door.
No answer.
She knocked again before cocking her head. Lizzy had said that he would be in most likely. But she didn't want to just intrude on the boil. She contemplated on what to do, and after a series of possible solutions came to mind, she blushed and went with the most bold and daring.
Drastic situation meant Drastic means.
"Mac?" Her hand turned the boil's doorknob and pushed gently open, taking a step in. "Mac, are you here? It's...." She flushed, "It's um Amphi." She looked around, unsure of where the boil was, fully stepping in before shutting the door behind her.

It was Amphi's lucky day; not only was Mac home, but he was wearing pants. He didn't have a good track record of exiting his shower with anything more than a towel around his waist, but today seemed to be the exception. He was wearing his usual black pants, but that was about it; pants and a towel drapped over his wet, curly haired head. The Reaper blinked, turning his head and starting at the ghoul wide eyed as though he had no idea who she was or how the hell she got into his room. Just...what? Uhm. How---Who---Wat---
"...Amphi?" He said in surprise, staying in the space between his bathroom and his bed. "Err...this is new, Never expected you to break and enter." Mac laughed, turning from her to get to his dresser, using that time to ruffle his hair with the towel before tossing it aside. Whelp, he should probably stop greeting girls with a bare chest, right? A shirt was in order and he went through the process of finding one; it ended up being a regular, dark green turtle neck. Only once he had a shirt on did he finally walk back to stand in front of his desk, leaning back against it.
"So to what do I owe the pleasure?" He asked with a slight grin.

Thank god for pants. Had Amphi seen anything less of them, she'd probably have died on the spot. She didn't just enter a boil's room unannounced and then to see him...obviously catching him after a shower....It was already too much. Either guilt or embarrassment was going to be the end of her first.
"Hu-" She broke off as she stared at his chest and when he turned...his back. Well there was a first for everything and this would be her first time seeing a bare...reaper's back. "Oh oh, I am so sorry." She covered her face and tucked them in between her hands, the bright red reaching her ear fins. "I...What? No...Um..." she stuttered out as she shook her head in her hands, clearly muffling the sounds before peeking through her fingers at him. "I...I am not b...b...breaking and entering Mac, I was...It was open!!" Her voice took on a high squeak before waving her hand...again over her face.
She waited a couple more beats before removing her hand and eyeing the boy warily now. Red blush, still there, probably would be there the whole time she was breathing in his ROOM. He had made himself comfortable on his desk before talking to her. Taking that as an okay to come further in, she looked around, exploring a bit before looking back up at him...and then to a spot past him as she worked up what she needed to say.
"I...um well..." She wrung her hands together before thinking of working around what she needed to say, "How...How are you?" She wasn't even sure what to say to get to the point she needed to. Oh and not only that...She had met his friend outside...maybe she should mention it? "Um, I met your pink haired friend outside." She ducked her head.

"..." Mac stared at her as she started to panic, having looked over at her a couple times to see her with her face buried into her hands. Each time he had to snicker; this ghoul was too cute for words. Too cute. Too cute! Poooor girl.
His room was...surprisingly clean. Since his break up he needed busy hands, and busy hands meant his room was now almost always clean. The corner of the bed was occupied by a big fluffy brown Scareon and her four pups, all curled, cuddled and snoozing away. Otherwise there was nothing special to note about the room itself. It was a pretty generic boy room...if you overlooked that it was clean.
"Pink haired...?" Mac blinked. Pink haired...friend? There were two pink haired people in his life, but friend? He has to assume. "Oh, Charlie? I'm sorry about him, I really am. He's...special...but he's my best friend." A hand waved in dismissal, and he shrugged before reaching out to put a hand on her nervously fidgeting ones. "He's harmless, I promise."

Amphi watched him flicker over recognition of pink haired friends before he talked of a....a boil? No no, That wasn't who she was talking about! "What? Charlie? who is Charlie?" Her eyes widened, "He's special? Like....What kinda of special? Oh! Best friend okay okay." She mused at that, completely forgetting she was talking about Lizzy and not Charlie before her hand was taken in his. She was careful to breathe because well...he was touching her.
Okay okay Amphi, remember what Aksaja taught you. She breathed again, still red but a little bit more calmer as she looked up to him, searching his face. "Oh well, I am glad he is harmless." She gave him a shy smile before searching his face again.
Had he dodged her question about him being alright? He seemed happier and back to normal so she tried again. "Mac...I wanted...to talk to you about something." She flushed as she thought again. She had so many questions like....Was he okay after his death? Had this happened to him before? Was he acting normally again outside of his dorm room? And what about Lizzy? Actually those questions burned at the forefront of her thoughts. She really wanted to know if Lizzy was the pink haired ghoul from the night that he had been shouting about, because if...if she was, then what was Amphi suppose to do with these feelings for Mac?
She was quiet so long she was sure Mac was staring at her before looking up at him. First question first....her heart leaped into her throat.
"Mac Um...." She attempted to tug a little at her hand, "Are you alright after the attack from the humans?" She said it so quickly that the words almost seemed to meld together. Beyond all the questions of Lizzy and other things, she just wanted to know if he was alright first. "Your not still....blaming yourself are you? For any of it?" She kept her eyes locked on his. Lizzy said that if she didn't talk to him about it, then he would continue to blame himself. And Lizzy was a closer friend then Amphi was, she would take the girl's advice to work.

...So...the pink haired friend she met wasn't Charlie? That just left...oh. Oh. Well, lets just bypass that entire subject, okay? Hrm. Once she was done fidgeting he let his hand slide away, both moving back to hook onto the edge of his desk, all in all making him look incredibly comfortable against the desk.
"Okay...?" He trailed off, waiting for the ghoul to answer. As he waited for her to start talking, he merely watched her. His black eyes never left hers, patiently waiting; he was used to shy ghouls, used to having to wait for them to get to the point. When she finally got to the point, his smile fell for a moment; was he okay? No, not really. Was he still blaming himself? Well, sort of. Did he want to be honest with her about either of these things? No, not at all.
"Ah...I'm alright." Mac started his round of lies, his smile returning as though he'd just been surprised by her question. Her second question went unanswered for now, but he looked like he wanted to; he just needed one thing answered first. "Are you okay? Mentally? Physically?"

The good thing was that he was patient. Most defenitly patient. She hadn't clearly payed enough attention to his face as the easy grin faded. She was sure if it was because of her question, or because he was remembering or because overall, it was uncomfortable all around for everything.
She continued to watch his face, because he reply seemed well....hidden. She didn't want to press him no, the last thing she wanted to do was continuing to upset him over the same thing before blinking at his question.
"I...oh well..." She flushed. Secretly she was really happy he asked, and then it was washed over by the rememberance of the events and what they had done to everyone. "I...." She chose her words delicately, "I have no wounds from then...I just have a small fear of fire though. And too much heat." She looked away, "Which is lucky for me I guess, It can't be the same for others." She looked at her hands now, ones that had burned when she had attempted to get the net of Mac, now back to their pale delicate selves. She sighed before looking down. "Mentally, well....I suppose that depends on the day." She gave a half hearted laugh. "I talked it over with a friend and...I received support from some one else who went through it there...with us." She spoke of the hug from Lizzy. "I'm scared, distrusting and shaken and almost didn't leave my aquarium today." She pulled on her sleeve nervously, "But...It's been awhile since the event and I wanted to come see you and make sure..." She looked over him again, "I'm glad though your alright." She really badly though wanted to hug him, though she didn't know why. Was it the strange new feeling her that wanted him to return her feelings she had unspoken? Who knew.
"Your pink haired friend though..." Amphi began again, attempting to turn the conversation away from herself. She was here for Mac, not herself. Oh and to learn what Lizzy was to the boil. But that was like...not that important...was it?

Amphi didn't need to wait long before her little wish was fulfilled. As she spoke, the weight in Mac's heart grew heavier until he couldn't help but reach out, gently taking her hand to draw her closer to him. Once she was within a more comfortable distance he released the hand to wrap his arms around her instead, gently hugging her against him.
"I'm sorry, Amphi; was that your first death?" He kept his arms around her, resting his chin on the top of her head even though he had to slouch a bit to do so. "It'll get easier, I promise." It was a strange thing to try to reassure her with, but it was true; facing your death was easier now that you knew you'd be coming back. They weren't Red, they weren't insane...they would always return, no matter how painful. "I'm glad you left your aquarium, it's a good start." His hand moved and pet down her back, smoothing easily over her long hair. But there it was, that mention of his 'pink haired friend'...
"What about them?" He said carefully, not leaning one way or the other.

She was done with her little rave though, there was no point in dwelling, though she did so often. But the solace she found in her aquarium hadn't quenched the curiousity in her and she had seeked her answers.
So when his arms came around her, (oh god oh god, breathe girl breathe), she stiffened and the blush came again. Her heart started pounding at a very fast and she felt like blood was rushing to her head. Could she hear just how loud the thumping inside her got? Probably not but....Over all the anxiety of the hug, she felt like she need to relax, this is what Aksaja had helped her with hadn't it?
Blushing aside, and the slight stutter she would have. "I...Yes." She eased under him, resting her hands on his chest and slightly tightened the grip on his sweater. She felt the weight on top of her head and instead chose to focus on the neckline of his sweater. ""Will it?" She said quietly, so this hadn't been his first time dying, and like Sheridan, he hinted at more times. Did it get easier? She hadn't been on the field trip where many students had come back haunted or traumatized, and forgoed a innocent as their home, their academy was a safe ground. her hand clenched tighter at the mention of her underwater room before relaxing. Yes it had been a step. "It was kind of...really hard. I think I almost forgot how to walk on legs I was in there so long." That was her attempt at a joke and lightening up the situation.
His hand smoothed over her hair in a easy comfort, and had she been any other creature, she might of purred. Instead she made a small squeak as it went lower and then back up...um...um.
"Oh..." Her face scrunched together, "Not Charlie. There was a girl, Her name was Lizzy." Amphi focused again on the neckline of his sweater. "She...She was visiting Mot but I met her outside before talking to you and she was really nice and I was wondering..." Okay she was talking really quickly now, "I was wondering if she was the same girl who you got upset at when the Hunters came and if you liked her or um...yeah." There she asked it, She tensed now...her heart had began a dull ache kind of thud...awaiting his response.

"It will, I promise." Granted, the first time he faced his death was after he'd watched both Lizzy and Charlie die the same way, after facing the horrorifying stress of the island. Then he had welcomed it, craved it. This time he didn't want to die, but he'd known that pain already; it made it easier while making it harder at the same time, if that made any sort of sense at all. Her little joke did get a chuckle out of him, though! Yay Amphi! "Well, that's good, you do have nice legs. Hate for them to go unused." He just...he couldn't resist. Sigh, Mac! He seemed amused and his actions didn't cease; he still pet the ghoul's hair, letting her calm down or relax without quite realizing he was, in fact, making it worse.
"Yeah...I know Lizzy." Part of him was happy that she was going to see Mot; that was what he wanted, right? But the words still drew a frown from him, in that moment thanking Jack that his chin was on her head so she couldn't see it. As he listened quietly to her, he had to wonder why she was asking these things; what did it matter to her if he liked Lizzy? Was it---Oh. Oh Jack! Why would she -- no, no no no, don't assume, Mac. Just...don't. Maybe there was another reason for it! Umm----
"Yeah, she was the one I threatened the Hunters over." He admitted, but only because she was there. Before he would answer her latter questions though, he needed to know one thing: "Why d'you ask?" It was very, very important.

She wasn't sure if she wanted to get use to the feeling of saying but...If she went in, now knowing how it felt and what to look for, she was sure she would be stronger next time. Maybe next time, she wouldn't be so scared and useless. She was pleased with his small chuckle before flushing again. "What....I...My legs?" She stuttered under him again. She had recieved plenty of comments for her mermaid tail, considering that she was a mermaid but....she had never received compliments on her Land walker legs. It did the same effect though.
Her heart thudded again as he paused in his hair petting to answer her question. So he did know the pink haired ghoul. He did know Lizzy. Well duh. Lizzy had said they knew each other, and she didn't think the ghoul would lie to her. Her thoughts we're really deep and darkened with sadness. It only deepened when he confirmed her fear. Lizzy was a ghoul that Mac really...REALLY cared for.
Where did that leave Amphi now? With her budding feelings and tender experience from dying, did she dare tell Mac how she too felt? Was it fair to him...to Lizzy? And in that moment, her heart and head fought bitterly. Her head told her to keep it to herself, to keep how she felt inside and her heart...well it was being selfish and demanding. It wanted to share and to explore and break free. She closed her eyes against his chest before stuttering out.
"Well, you were so worried about her and I wasn't sure but..." She burrowed her head in his chest now, the red in her face completely overwhelming her. "I asked because...Because I like you." She squeaked it out, finally. "But I understand if it's a bother or if you can't talk to anymore..." Oh that would make her really sad, "cause I think you really like Lizzy and I don't want to get in the middle of you two if you have something going on and maybe..." her heart hurt and fluttered at the same time. Nooooooooooow what did she do?

"Yes, your legs are nice." Mac repeated, though he didn't move his head to take another confirming look at them.
Because I like you.
All of his smiles faded, all of his attempts to remain strong crashed when he heard those little words. She...what? Oh Jack, he'd been right?! He wasn't imagining it?! Bloody Jackin' Mary how did this -- when did this -- what was -- no no no, she was too sweet. Much too sweet! He wasn't...no. Nuh huh! All these warning bells went off in his head, but they suddenly didn't seem to matter as he registered the way her fingers tightened on his sweater, or the way she buried her face against his chest, or any number of subtle moments he found absolutely adorable.
...Could he take advantage of this? Should he? He wasn't dating Lizzy, he'd sunk that ship himself...and here was a wonderful opportunity to get over Lizzy. This lovely ghoul against his chest would definitely make a good distraction. But...they were a lot alike, weren't they? Both were sweet ghouls, both were someone he felt he needed to protect, and what was worse...he could very easily hurt this innocent little mermaid. Would it be terrible of him to...?
Mac adjusted his arms, keeping them around her, but only a little lower, allowing him to lean back a bit to look down at her as opposed to keeping his chin on her head.
"...A-and maybe what...?" He...really wanted to know where she was going with this before he answered her. Did she just...want him to know? Or was it that she wanted something from him? Or...what?

She snorted..quietly at the comment again at her legs before she felt Mac stiffen around her. Had her confession been bad? Did she botch it up?
Though his internal musing wasn't vocolized, Amphi was left to wonder just what the boil was thinking. This was her first crush and her heart hurt at the thought of being turned away or down but at the same time....He had Lizzy and well, she, like she had been saying to herself through the whole meeting since the girl, wouldn't intrude. Regardless that her heart selfishly wanted to claim.
She continued to burrow her head in his sweater, she didn't really want to look at his face at the moment. She bet it looked all....ugh, why did this ghoul come here. No no, No Mac was nice, he wouldn't think that would he?
She shifted to look under the hood of her bangs as he shifted to look at her before she nervously fidgeted with the grip on his sweater, she knew he was looking at her now and briefly moved her eyes up to his before darting back down.
"Maybe...I....thought maybe if you didn't think of Lizzy like...like I think of you that I could..." What was the word she was looking for, "S...Seduce you to liking me to or something like that." Instant Flush presto again, there it was again, wait...did it ever leave? "But...But um if you do like Lizzy then...we could be friends instead and I'll....cheer you on." Ack. Selfish or not, liking someone meant wishing them the best happiness possible right? She could handle if Mac didn't like her, she couldn't handle if she lost a friendship over it.

Oh no, Amphi. You didn't botch it up at all. In fact you did the complete opposite of botching! You actually had the boil thinking. Thinking hard. As he stood there he couldn't help but notice how comfortable it was to hold her in his arms, or how nice she smelled; he wanted to be a Ferryman after all, the smell of water was always enticing to him. Regardless of these thoughts and little observations that ran through his head, he continued to look down at her, black eyes giving her his entire attention.
What she had to say was important after all, very important indeed.
...And when she explained? It was one word that had his complete attention, one word. Hearing Amphi of all scarelings say that to him was not what he expected at all. Wasn't she too sweet to say things like that? To do things like that? Was he hearing things? He had to have been. Amphi wouldn't say something like seduce, after all! ...Right?
"Err..." He started, suddenly awkward. "I...I mean, um, we...were dating. But uhm...we broke up, so..." They broke up because he lied to her face and told her he was done playing house with her, even though he didn't mean it. "She's...important to me, but, ah, not dating. We're over." He repeated, because this too was rather important. "Sooo if you want we could, I mean---"
"Uh, first...seduce how?" Oh come on, you can't blame him for asking!

She continued her...dart up look....dart back down. Flush...dart up...blue eyes to black, then back down again...then another flush. Wash rinse, repeat till you get the desired effect.
She was sure he contemplating it very thoroughly and because of that, she was quiet and tried not to fidget to bother him. She too had to think of her words and what she had said. Seduce was the word that her sister's used when they wanted someone to like them back wasn't it? It was when you worked hard to gain their attention, and perhaps with time and effort, they would come to return your eager feelings. That was what seduce meant yes?
Although, she didn't know how Mac thought of it.
Her ears fins perked as he spoke again, about Lizzy and had her full attention. Her blue eye's looking up. "Oh..." was all she could really say. How did one respond to that? Some how though, maybe there was more to it then she needed...wanted to know. She didn't press any further but...something in her chest got a bit lighter and she felt a spark of hope at his words.
Her head cocked at his suggestion before flushing as he brought up the seducing part. Ah Jack! Now what did she do. "Um..I...I hadn't really thought that far...." She looked up at him before looking away before looking up again..."I suppose...It requires a...a lot of touching to seduce someone doesn't it? I....had lessons with Aksaja for it, So...So I might be better at handling it!" She let the hands that we're like iron gripped on his sweater before pausing...and then lifted them to cup Mac's face. With him being a taller, it wasn't really a reach but the next step required her to stand on her tip toes. Her lips placed a gentle kiss....on his chin because thats where she could reach at the moment before she dropped back flat on her feet and flushing again. "The...There!" Oh my god she kissed...his chin...BUT A KISS WAS A KISS RIGHT?
