Jerry was starting to come to like this Christmas thing. Maybe it was all of the ample cookies that seemed to find themselves around the place. So he had helped himself to one or two as he tried to NOT be completely bothered by Robert's ridiculous phobia or whatever it was. He'd just... have to actually stick to Roar next time he needed persuading. It would seem brute force was going to be the only way he'd launch his silly little project. Fliers had certainly not worked. Two cookies turned into six, and these bothersome thoughts were left behind, the lovely garlands and twinkling lights becoming far more important as his weary trudge through the Deus halls had turned into an outright skip with accompanying hum.

Before had promised himself he wouldn't be touching any of the cookies. They got him into trouble in the first place and it was all their ******** fault that he couldn't call Ariane Boss anymore and that she hated him and- gloved hands forcibly smacked against his eyes, trying to rid himself of such depressing thoughts. What was it that she said?
He could have as many as he wanted? She didn't care anymore?
Well, you ought to refrain from consuming too much in the first place. Miss Clarice did warn you of the possible effects it could have on your heart. And I DO NOT WANT TO BECOME PARTNER-LESS AGAIN!!!
Before humph'd and grump'd and soon found himself sneaking two cookies into his mouth. The initial rush of JOY had been pleasant but he could still... remember that gnawing ache of loss. So he had himself a few more. And that should be okay, right? RIGHT! Soooooo where to now? BACK TO HIS ROOOOM~ he decided and headed down the halls. Along the way, he heard humming! Humming was almost as good as singing! And he recognized the song but couldn't quite place the title. Or the lyrics. :< So in the interest of learning, he chased after the source and found "Oh hiiiiiiiii!" he cheered, waving his arms to draw the older trainee's attention. Except he was calling out from behind so that gesture was moot...

Jerry jumped at the sudden call, whirling around as the humming stopped, "Ah..!" A boy was approaching him, one he knew from their various Missions and assignments, although he couldn't quite remember his name... uh oh. Panic flickered across his face for just a moment as he tried to jog his memory... something... something with a B...? "Er! Hi! Um... Bobby was it?" He hoped he was close or this could be very embarrassing. Well, this young man certainly looked enthusiastic! Hey, maybe he was interested in Jerry's project? Hope suddenly lifted his features into a somewhat manic grin as he jogged to catch up.

Before skidded to a halt in front of the other trainee. He'd seen him during missions but never really had the opportunity to actually talk to him. Mostly it was because he always saw him with Candace and Before was doing everything in his power to stay the ******** away from that particular girl. And then he wondered if the company the bespectacled trainee kept was indicative of his own personality...
The manic grin on the approaching trainee's face should have put Before on edge knowing who he hung out with. But. Well. Too much JOY running through him to make him particularly care about that. So he fixed a bright smile on his face, "Bobby? That's a new one!" he giggled, "It's Before, actually." No he wasn't going to use his real name of Milton Bates. That was for division leaders and their a**l-retentive need to use formal labels. emotion_awesome
"You were humming a real familiar tune just now. I'm gonna get a bad case of LSS until I figure out what that is," was pretty much Before's explanation for the sudden interaction between them, obviously he knew jack about the Sun trainee's project.

"Before? That's an odd name! Ahahaha! Oh, the song? It's the Muppet Show theme song," He grinned, "I wish there was a rec room or something with a television we could watch, I've been in the hugest mood-" He cut off, expression changing as he suddenly looked Before up and down critically. "Saaaaay..." The rest of the cookie vanished into his mouth as he stepped up to the shorter boy with a look of dangerous intent. "You like music??"

Teal eyes blinked, but no hint of anxiety could be seen as Before casually shrugged off the weird-name comment. "Oh I do like music. Most of the old-school chrooners though. And I'm not really any good at it but ha! That's never stopped me!" X33333 he declared a tad too proudly.

"Well, see," Jerry beamed, planting an arm around the boy's shoulder to lead him towards the door. He had seen how this "recruitment" process had been going. Always best to take it outside. "I've got this project I'm working on. Maybe you'd be interested?" His enthusiasm seemed to explode at the mention of old crooners, a dangerous gleam in his eye, "You seem like a guy with good taste! Great really! Old classics really are the best! Classic for a reason, right? Who's your favorite? Bing? Nat King? Sinatra?"

Before gave a series of hmmmms as he mulled over the names, "Gotta go with old Blue Eyes," he nodded sagely. "Not that I don't like the others, but I just like Sinatra's movies more than Bing's. Tender Trap's my fav actually." d(^ w ^)b "Howsabout you?"

"Oh, I like 'em all," Jerry grinned enthusiastically. This 'Before' Fellow was certainly on his way to being Jerry's bestest friend ever. He illustrated this by summoning Roar the moment they stepped foot on the training grounds, beaming a smile at him, "SO. Do you want to join my choir?"

Normally at the sight of a fellow trainee drawing their weapon would have sent Before into a fit of flailing and QQ-ing a series of apologies for whatever reason that might cause them to want to wale on him. But with the amount of JOY buzzing through his system, all Before did was laugh and summon his own partner. "Ahahaha, I take it this is the initiation? Cuz I'd totes join it!"

"Singing is mostly about confideOOP!" He yelped, distracted by the prospect of another eager volunteer to notice the wheel swinging at him before it was too late. He was knocked backward but thankfully kept on his feet, "Oh, hey, that was a good one!"

Before felt... Encouraged! And giddy and excited and not at all remorseful he hit the guy who was going to be his boss-type-dude for choir. "Pffft, you're just saying that~" he beamed. "I'm okay with duets, though, eff wy eye." He suddenly takes a leap toward Jerry before he brought Vanna down at an angle.

"Duets are very good for- EEKK!!" Lights danced in front of his eyes as the massive weapon came crashing down. He rolled and tumbled, head spinning as he gave a groan. Ooooowww~ Alright, maybe conversing casually while battling wasn't the smartest of ideas. BUT HEY! At least he had found another interested party!

Oh, oh my, that was quite the fall Jerry took and it didn't look at all fun :< The Life trainee jogged over and reached out a hand to help Jerry up to his feet, Before also might have tried to hug him. A tad too enthusiastically at that...
