They had been itching for a fight---curious to see their two in action as well as to get more experience under their belt. Hell, it was dicey but, admittedly, it was an option to help broaden their knowledge when it came to training. Sure, it was frowned upon yet some of the best experience came from home grown matches. The couple had managed to slip inside of the compound together with their Mokai in tow. Talon walked to the other side and unhooked Rsst from her leash, ushering her into the ring.

His eyes wandered. "Guess this is the other side of the compound, huh? It has a more 'unsettling' vibe to it," he commented. Scanning across the vacant arena, the glisten of fresh crimson amongst the ring signified that they certainly were not the only ones who utilized the compound during its off hours. Talon's stomach knotted slightly.

"It can get pretty gnarly but you haven't seen anything until you've seen the 'underground' rings. This is nothing," Keegan gestured towards the ring with her head where blood was spattered and smeared on more than just the floor. "In the underground pits there's more than just blood--there's fatalities but it doesn't stop there."

There was so much more. She had seen it before due to her father being a vigilant soul who had tried to help crack down on the organized rings that specifically used bait animals and abuse. Yet the flashes of the graphic images were enough to render her speechless. Keegan bit down upon her lower lip and shook her head, attempting to whisk away the thought. Forget, she urged herself, forget. The self advise was good but the mere recollection was raw, vivid---it was hard to simply discard. As she unraveled the lead from around the male fighter's harness, she opened the gate closed it tight once J-Dub had immersed himself within the ring. Tossing the lead over her shoulder, Keegan looked across the ring and exhaled.

"Alright, I think we're ready."

Both J-Dub and Rust had asserted themselves at their individual corners. J-Dub crouched low as a cheeky grin hooked itself towards the left of his maw. Damn, he was excited; whoever won this would have a hell of a bragging right when they got back home and yet, at the same time, it was straight up for status. His ocher orbs narrowed, scrutinizing his female cohort as she stood with a tense stance.

"Gurl, ya ready fo' dis'?" He barked, swaying his tail behind him like a plumed flag, a banner declaring the readiness for what was to come. "It's only gonna get hot an' steamy up 'hurr."

Rust crouched slightly as her body weight was thrust behind her at the balls of her feet. The slightest chuckle rose from her chest as she swept her tail behind her. "Start preparing that ice bath now---heat strokes a b***h."

"Jus' as long as ya' got a fi'a extinguish'a because yo' a** is gonna be set ablaze by 'dis s**t righ' hurr." He flexed, mockingly. "I got 'dat ammunition, y'know?"

"From where I'm standing, Your gear looks small and weak."

J-Dub frowned. "Don' be hatin'. Save it fo' after the brawl. Besides, this raging' form of sculpted muscles and fur makes ev'rybody jealous."

Her fur bristled slightly. There was little time for a retort as Talonth rang the starting bell. Rust's mindset snapped into a focused mindset as, unconsciously, she lunged forward. LIkewise, J-Dub showed little hesitation as he sprang forward head on.

The battle for bragging rights had begun.

Her temper was becoming likened to a tempest storm; it had been brewing and accruing its strength until it had acquired the foundation to sustain its means for incurring devastation. That time was here and now. Rust bared her teeth viciously and streamlined forward, her sight was locked upon her housemate. Sound had faded away into bleak nothingness as she zeroed in onto J-Dub. There was a malignant anger that fueled inside of her---its intoxicating presence was drowning out all sense of coherency. It was strange with a surreal sensation that masked her rationality.

Anger was one letter short of 'danger' and for Rust to be blinded by it could only foretell that the fight was going to become unsightly rather fast. Time would only tell.

Rust was relentless and her appetite to claim a win, to actually taste victory, was voracious. It was obvious that J-Dub hadn't expected her to the the first initiative to spark the fight but, then again, he seemed to commonly under mind her nor take her seriously. Tension was brewing against the misconceptions that she held and their taunt ties were slowly severing to their breaking point.

Lunging forward with teeth and claws bared, Rust went for his throat.

Something didn't feel right. There was more than just an unsettling vibe that saturated the air as J-Dub stood there. His eyes had met Rust's which he could have sworn that there was unspoken resentment, let alone tension, that was severing them. He could see a darkness glazing over the brilliance of her ocher orbs and dulling the sheen of her typical zeal.

They were still new to the fighting aspect and were, like countless other fighters, attempting to face the onslaught of clawing their way to the top. But this sure as hell wasn't something that could happen overnight; it took months, even years, for a fighter to transform themselves into the individual they sought to become. When one would compare their recent scores and status, it was evident that Rust has been plagued with---the most appropriate way to put it was straight up shitty fights. The consistent loss fight after fight surely was enough to demoralize even the most seasoned veterans of the ring. But it was wearing on the female and he knew that. It was obvious both physically and how she projected herself through body language.

Rust wasn't the same.

Her speed was honed and sharpened more than his own and it was that delay, the small miscalculation, which caught him off guard. As she lunged for him, J-Dub only had enough time to turn his head. He yelped as he could feel her fangs penetrating beyond his fur and into his skin. The sensation of warmth trickled down the side of his neck.

"Whut the ******** is wron' wid' chu!" He snarled, jerking his head from side to side. Her grip was good, too good and the pain was starting to become a nuisance. "Betta' pray 'dat Talonth will mend yo a** cuz if yo wanna play hard 'den I'll certainly oblige."

His body suddenly gave way to gravity as he slammed himself towards the ground with Rust as his buffer between the ground. Moments felt like minutes as they made impact and with the brunt of the force, J-Dub had his own pulverizing to dish.

"Whut s**t-slingin' mode has got yo all riled up? Start talkin'. Now."

The hot metallic taste oozed into her maw and, for the first time, she didn't reel back with repulsion as she continued to clamp down onto him. A grow thrummed from her throat as he spoke---she sought to tune out whatever nonsense he was trying to enforce. ********, she didn't have to answer to him---the only one she would answer to would be Talonth or Keegan. But if he wanted the truth then he'd get the truth. Although, for the moment, the distraction of being thrust onto the ground with his weight bearing on top of her wasn't helping.

The impact had been rather weak but its swift deliverance was enough to catch her off guard. She stifled a snarl as he held her in place. Their eyes seemed to collide an convey their frustrations; one of concern and one of self loathing even envy.

"I just ******** want to win," she erupted, baring her teeth with a testing snap of her jaws. "Just once, damnit, just one ******** time."

There was a weakness to his grasp as he had left his underbelly exposed. Rust's body wiggled and shifted just enough for her back legs to coil closer to her body. Her eyes still met his, refusing to waver as she positioned herself.

"Just once!"

And with that, she launched her back legs right below his abdomen; into a well protected and cherished aspect of all males where their 'jewels' were kept. It was too perfect an opportunity not to take.

There was something about the insatiable craving to win which he knew all too well. It was not only something he fought viciously for but the means to obtain it often changed his countenance while in the ring. Far from harboring a split personality, J-Dub's mentality seemed to trigger the feral instincts that drove him to fight and survive; the enclosed quarters which contained him were those which drove him mentally to see that he conquered as well as walked out from. s**t, he definitely knew the hang-up feeling that an onslaught of losses would cause. Perhaps it had simply been festering inside of his cohort in crime for far too long.

Although, before he could say anything, an intense blow slammed into him and collided into one of the most sensitive places that a male only wished would never become violated by a savage blow. The wind itself felt forced from out of his lungs as he collapsed to his paws.

"Shiiiiiiiiiit," he wheezed. "Cheap a** blow, righ' thur. Dat was cheap as ******** muzzle scrunched as pain shot through his body. Attempting to stand on his paws felt awkward and uncomfortable. But, regardless, he wasn't going to submit so quickly. Oh hell no!

Rust had already rose to her paws and his instincts only baited him to plunge forward int mayhem. This distance between them was close, manageable for a suitable counter attack. Lowering his head, J-Dub began barreling towards her with his jaws ajar. As he came within distance he lunged for the back of her neck.

"That's for thinking less of me," she seethed.

She watched as the male stumbled onto his paws, attempting to gather his bearings. A defined look of disgust and malicious intent etched itself across her maw as she snarled. Rust herself no doubt sensed that something inside of her was taking shape, it was transforming into this unknown void. The confusion lay in the aspect of whether to embrace the change or to turn away from it. Adrenaline was coursing through her veins as if it had never before been let loose to bombard through her system. Rust's very senses felt heightened and her overall awareness of her surrounds felt as if they had become acute.

Her eyes snapped as J-Dub surged towards her. As his teeth latched onto the nape of her neck, the female whipped around growled. Her entire body seemed to twist which allowed his fangs the chance to penetrate deeper into her skin yet her forepaw lashed out at his face and his eyes repeatedly.

"Let go or I'll make sure you go blind, you b*****d!" She barked, baring her teeth as she struck at him again.

The scene was becoming grizzly quickly, Unspoken tension had long emanated within the household for so long that it was, in an unorthodox way, therapeutic for the two fighters to beat the living s**t out of one another. Well, or so they hoped.

His vice-grip only became more potent as he bristled. He held her threat with little regard. What the hell was wrong with her? Damn! Inside he was everything but certain as to what the ******** was going on within the ring where he felt that he was surely straight up intoxicated. This s**t wasn't right. J-Dub attempted to shake her around to try and let her cool off until an array of claws slashed across his eyes. A howling chorus of pain solaced through the empty compound----his grip was instantly released from off of her.

A veil of red distorted his vision; straining his eyes to see and wiping them profusely seemed to only a small sliver of remedy to the situation. Yet darkness was beginning to encompass one of his eyes leading J-Dub to be on the brink of a mind ******** meltdown.

Scrutinizing the ring, he caught just the slightest movement towards the right and instantly sprang forward with no hesitation.

As her claws had collided with J-Dub's eyes, Rust stiffened as his howl erupted throughout the compound. Claws, her claws, had raked across his eyes and the outlook seemed bleak. She had caught a glimpse of his eyes as they flashed and flickered and all she could see was a sea of red. What had she done? Guilt washed over her.

It was no sooner that she found herself released from his grasp although, for the most part, she was left stunned; she started and shook her head. Although it was the stagnant motion and the seldom, unconscious, flick of her ears which had made her vulnerable as J-Dub sprang forward. Rust twisted and turned but he had managed to clamp down on her back leg the moment she whipped around.

Rust snarled---his teeth were sinking into her leg. Damnit! Her eyes darted about the arena as well as scanned over her opponents form in search of a way out. Although the only answer seemed to be the foreleg that J-Dub planted so closely to hers.

Likewise, she clamped down onto his. Fighting fire with fire was the only option, for now.

The sensation of something clamping down on his leg was enough to cause him to release his grip. For one whose sight was hindered, J-Dub was skittish and lacking confidence. Aside from his battle in the ring, his newest challenge was trying to manage a major hindrance to a sensory organ which was so vital. For being a brute, J-Dub was admittedly scared. Hell, he didn't know what was going to happen after the match and all he wanted was just some lovin' as well as a bath. A warm bath sounded so damn fine right about now---and sleeping with Keegan in bed would only make his night a magical evening.

Freeing Rust from his grip as he coiled his foreleg close to him, J-Dub snarled. He snapped his jaws, testing her. He couldn't see her but damn he could smell her.

Smell.

It seemed to be the next big thing to base his perception off of. Her rank scent saturated the air so thickly that he barreled towards her.

The force of his weight ramming into her side was enough to send her tumbling into a heap of fur and limbs. She grimaced, baring her fangs with the least bit of amusement. Her tongue slid across her fangs as she staggered up to her feet. As their eyes met, Rust could see that one of them was clearing ever slightly but his face was a hell of a bloodied mess. Just as quick as the retaliation had begun, the female rose up to her paws and bounded forward.

She sprang from the ground as her jaws hung ajar, hoping to land a hit and take him down to the ground. There was a desperation that yearned for her to seek for an ending to the fight---stamina and adrenaline had all but left her in disarray.

She just had to hold out just a bit longer...

Slowly, J-Dub was beginning to understand that there were much more valuable senses that one could utilize rather than just relying on sight alone. In some skewed logic, he was perceiving the mishap as being only an advantage of his; honing his senses to become more acute as well s accurate. Hell, if anything he damn hoped for a hell of a scar over his eye to look like regal, a** pounding thug---it was common knowledge that all of the ladies loved that authentic battle damage. Every scar had a story behind its origin, did it not?

His ears cocked slightly as the scuffling of paws thumped against the ground. The male canted his head slightly and waited---Rust's smell was drawing nearer.

Whipping his body around, J-Dub arched up onto his hind legs and thrust his paws into Rust's chest; heaving her backwards from whence she came. The resounding echo of a tumble and thump only signified that he had managed to keep her at bay. For now.

Yet with the two fighters bloodied, battered, and no doubt bruised, the bell for the fight rang for the conclusion. Both fighters collapsed, succumbing to the fatigue and stress of the now finished fight.

There was much to be done and much to be salvaged from what had happened
