 Pacing back and forth, he was sure Russ was supposed to be here. He was fretting, of course, he had been doing that lately. He had been worrying for him, wondering if he was okay.... wondering if he would come back to the den safely. He hadn't felt this before, this irrational fear. His fear of losing Russ, that one day Russ may not return to his den for some reason.
This fear would twist into frantic joy whenever he saw the male, his heart leaping and skipping beats. No, he understood what it was. He liked the man, and yet he had to keep it quiet. Lilac was a man, a man with a silly name and a frail body. He didn't want to be rejected, and besides, he was happy being just friends.
....Right?

 Russ hurried down the path, now worn from all the times he traveled from his den to his dragon's. Okay...not a real dragon, but since the other fox's name meant dragon, it was cool for Russ to think of him as such...right? After all, Ryu had taken down a large male deer on his own during his first hunting lesson. Granted, it did end up with the violet male getting a stomach ache...
But that had allowed Russ to spend more time with him. And now there was no wondering if it was okay for Russ to visit Ryu. While Russ may not have been spending every night with Ryu since he was better, Russ did like visiting him during the day time.
And now, he was on his way back to the other den to meet with Ryu and finally go to the metal forest they had talked about during the hunting lesson. Speaking of Ryu....Russ grinned as he saw his destination, and a purple flash of something. "Yo! You all set Ryu?"

When he heard the mans voice his head jerked to the side, grinning over at him. "Ready? Ready? I was born ready~" He padded over to Russ, rubbing his cheek against the males neck as a friendly, perhaps to friendly welcome. Oh. He just....loved snuggling. Just with Russ, though.
Squirming slightly, the purple male smiled nervously at Russ. "The metal forest is huge, really big. So don't get lost, okay?" He paused in thought, grinning at the man. "I'll protect you from scary monsters~"

Russ grinned, his tail wagging back and forth, occasionally touching Ryu. Hey, if Ryu was allowed to snuggle or nuzzle him, surely Russ would be allowed to do that right? But how Russ wish he knew if Ryu was doing it as a friendly action, or a 'Hey, I wish we were more than friends' type of action. He supposed he could ask...but her was too afraid.
A laugh emerged from his mouth. "I'll hold you to it then Dragon Fox." He winked at Ryu. "Unless said monsters are made of meat. Then I'll just have to save you hm? Can't have you in the metal forest with an upset stomach now can we?" As to getting lost...."We'll just have to be side by side the whole way then. I know I won't let you out of my sight."

Lilac blushed softly, nodding at the male. "Save me?" He shook his head, laughing softly. At the small touches he looked down, smiling softly. Oh~ He liked that~ Humming as they walked, his ears flipped as he heard the sound of the metal giants (cars) in the distance. Ah, he never really knew what to call such things, he hadn't met a metal forest fox to ever really ask. Maybe they'd meet a metal forest fox today?
What would happen if they found a monster, though? Could Lilac really defend Russ? O-Of course! He had to!

"Well of course I'd save you. Depending on what type of meat creature it was, I'd eat him so they wouldn't harm you." Of course, Russ might get sick from eating so much meat, but at least his version of sick wouldn't be as bad as Ryu's would have. Would metal forests have meat creatures? What creatures lived there?
Russ winced at the noise, growing louder as they continued towards the forest. So loud! How could anyone or anything live there? He stepped closer to Ryu, ears twitching.

Smiling when Russ twitched closer, Lilac felt just a little big at the realization that Russ went to his side. He felt like his protector! Grinning widely, he led the male to the edge of the woods, ears flicking when they came upon a fence, a metal one. How troublesome! Grumbling, he approached the fence and pawed at the ground with his claws. Fine, they'd dig. He didn't notice a hole in the fence to his right, though really, he was such a spazz it wasn't new.

Russ studied the fence. Why did the metal forest creatures have something like this up? Why box themselves in? Or...was it to keep things out? A protective something or the other? And the holes in it were too small. What if they needed to make a quick escape?
It would take too much time to make a big hole under the fence, like what Ryu was doing. Although....Russ grinned as his study of the fence showed a hole. He moved up to it, sniffing it, before crouching on the ground. If he hugged the ground, and moved slowly he should be able to-Yes! He was on the other side.
Or was that a bad thing? Russ mentally shrugged. Oh well. He moved over to in front of Ryu and pressed his muzzle against the fence. "Boo!"

"AH!"
A loud yelp escaped Lilac, almost causing him to flinch backwards, eyes widening as he jerked his head up to see Russ. Pouting briefly, he scowled at him. "How'd you get over there?!" He snapped, though his tail wagged playfully. Glancing over and scanning the fence he blinked, sheepishly lowering his ears and looking at the hole.
"Oh." Well. He had dirtied his paws for no reason. Whipping his paws on the grass, he crouched and slipped through the fence easily, the smaller and skinny male scurrying beside Russ. "Boo." He greeted, bumping his shoulder against Russ'.

Russ grinned as he bumped Ryu back. "I'm just saving us some time. But your tunneling might come in handy. You never know. We might need to make a quick escape." He looked back at the fence. "We...didn't just do something bad did we?" His grin grew at the thought.
Yes...Russ was addicted to breaking rules and the like. The thrill of getting away with something he wasn't supposed to be doing. The danger of possibly getting caught. He loved the blood pumping faster, the excitement, the, the...
Russ looked over at Ryu. Okay...he needed to calm down. He couldn't get caught up in his thoughts, or anything else. He needed to make sure that both of them got through this. "So, where to?"

"I.... I don't think we did....but now that you mention it." Head tilting back to look at Russ, he blinked once. Where.... to? Oh! Oh yes! Now he remembered!
"I've head a lot about these strange foods here.... do you want to come with me and get some?" He asked hopefully, glancing at Russ with wide eyes. "O-Or we can explore a bit before?'

Russ laughed. "How about we do both? Maybe while exploring we'll come across one of these strange foods." He winked at Russ. "Might even work up an appitite too."
Russ's ear twitched as another loud noise erupted. Why was he here again? Right. Because Ryu wanted to. But what had made Ryu want to come here. Surely it wasn't for the strange food....right?

"Alright." Purring quietly, he nodded. The wink made a light blush touch his cheeks, glancing away. "I'm starting to get used to that." He mused, shaking his head and smirking just a bit. Padding ahead, his head raised to look about, spotting a small alley that would lead to a tiny market of artists.
"Have you ever been near a human?"

Was that some red on Ryu's face? Naw....couldn't be. He stared at Ryu for a moment before shaking his head, as if to clear some thoughts. "Nope. I never wandered close to where any lived."
And why would he? What did humans have to offer him that nature didn't? What was so exciting about humans? All Russ knew so far was that they were loud. How could anyone live this way?

Nodding, Ryu padded ahead, skidding to a stop when he spotted the alley leading into a square full of artists and people, pressing closer to the wall of the alley. Nnn. Now this wasn't a good idea, he decided, feeling skittish as he looked over at Ryu.
"...Maybe this was a bad idea..."
